Each character's decisions, each twist of fate has led to this - a time when confusion reigns supreme, when up is down and down is up. And when the fate of humanity rests in the balance.
In this final installment, the decisions of the past have come back to haunt the future, and the fate of Nesy and Aydan, Zane and Cass, Celestium and Infernum, hang in the balance. The only question is, who will survive.
This story is filled with anguish and betrayal, love and sacrifice, as I bring the series to an end. It's a story that has been part of my life for many years. Saying "goodbye" to these characters will be a profound experience for me.
I hope all of you have enjoyed their stories as much as I have enjoyed writing them.
This third book in the Requiem series was fantastic. I finished it in a short couple of hours. I couldn't put it down.
You still have no IDEA who to trust. What their underlying plots are. Nesy is still trying to fight for her love(Aydan) and for good over evil.
Aydan is fighting for everything, his soul, his love, his life.
Zane and Cass are still there fighting and protecting Nesy the best they can.
There are a lot of twists and turns that will keep you glued to the pages. unfortunately, its hard to tell you all the AWEOMSE things that happen in this book without giving anything away. There's just too much. And the ending... WoW! There are very few books that can end that way and leave me still feeling like things ended the way they should have. The way they were always meant to end.
Fantastic read! A definite recommend for all ages.
What a way to end this incredible series!!! I must admit I was hesitant starting out because I just did not care that much for book one. Then during book two I fell in love with the story line and characters. And now I'm sold!
So let's recap shall we? (If you have not read book one Lacrimosa or book two Libera Me, please do so now before reading the rest of this paragraph because spoilers abound!)
Dominus book three and I believe the final installment of the Requiem series by Christine Fonseca begins not too long after Libera Me left off. Just like the first two installments, there are alternating POVs. However I did not expect that one of the POVs in this book would be Lilith (the other is Nesy). What a wonderful surprise! Anyways, Lilith is attempting to join her symbiont to the Beast (aka Aydan or well use to be Aydan) and secure his loyalty. Her goals: destroy Celestium and Infernum for killing off her race, the Jinn, a thousand years ago.
Nesy is not adjusting to being human well. She pushes her body to the limits, training with her angelic sword to fight demons she can no longer sense. Her goals: stop Lilith and save Aydan. But is there an Aydan left to save? Will she as a human be strong enough to defeat Lilith? Read this book and find out!!!
I loved this installment. There was real character growth in this book. I saw Nesy differently than I did the first two installments. Previously I was apathetic towards her. She was just back and forth with her feelings. Yet in this book, she's accepted her fate, her duty. And she will stop at nothing until she fulfills her destiny. Then there was Azza. I just knew there was more to him than evil!! This constant hatred towards Mikayel comes to a head in this book and we see a resolution, one that left me in tears for all these two characters suffered through. Aydan/The Beast, I still don't care for. He's a flawed character and I felt that he never really grows in these books.....that's just me though.
I think my favorite scene in this book came towards the end in the chapter called "Empty Darkness." We get a chance to see characters that have died and get a final closure with them. I definitely teared up reading it and it left me feeling content with the choice of characters that died (these included deaths from all installments!)
My only complaint about this book: it needed to be longer!! I felt that the storyline/plot was rushed slightly where it could've been drawn out and more questions answered. What is Dominus? What will happen to the Angels now? and the one weighing the most on my mind......What about ZANE?!?!
The Requiem series is a great read! The author does a wonderful job with imagery and the world building process leaving me thinking that this is really what angels/demons do all the time. This is how their world looks and how we look to them. If you like angel/demon novels, then do yourself a favor and read this series. I promise you won't be disappointed!
I received a copy of this ebook from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I want to thank the author, Christine Fonseca, for allowing me to read early versions of this book! I am honored to be a part of the process. Reading this book in advance and for free has in no way influenced my opinion or review.
Blurb from Goodreads: Sometimes death is the only way to save a life. Nesy knows who she is now, knows what she's lost. Determined to save Aydan from his fate, she confronts the only one she blames for everything - Azza. But how can she fight the devil when she is nothing more than human. The fate of Celestium, Infernum and humanity rests in Nesy's hands. Can she find the strength to confront demons she's never imagined, face fears she's never voiced, and release the one things that has held her world together - her love for Aydan. Some sacrifices should never be made...even for love.
So, I am sad that this series has come to an end. I love the characters so much and will truly miss reading about them. It's hard to review the last book in a series. I never know how much to reveal or not to reveal and never want to spoil things for others who might want to read the series. If you have not read the first or second book in this series, stop here! There might be spoilers and I don't want you to be disappointed!
I have to express how much I love the new covers in this series. They are so beautiful and so befitting to the theme. I will say I also loved the other covers. And now I have the first two books with the old and new covers and I'm very happy about it!
In this book, we are thrown into Nesy's mind as she tries to come to grips with her humanity. She wants to be able to defend her family and loved ones, but she is bound by her mortal human being now. She's also set on getting Aydan back and exacting her revenge on those who have imprisoned him. Unexpectadly, we get another POV in this book I was not expecting at first: Lilith! It's a third person view of it, but it's so poignant and perfect. It's as if we are floating above her, watching her actions and reactions.
There is nothing slow about this book. It is action packed with a plot that sucks you along. There was no easy way for this book to lay out it's plot and not lose characters. With the war they are fighting, you are bound to have deaths that make you sad. Nesy is coming apart at the seams trying to right the wrongs and things just keep crumbling at her feet. I have no idea how she held it together for so long.
Christine's writing, as always, is amazing. She has such a way with words. Her expressions of emotion through out the book are heart wrenching and gut pulling. She knows how to reach inside you and pull out your tears.
One thing you should expect when reading this book: expect the unexpected. You will be surprised by the character's actions. You will be surprised by who puts themselves in harm's way to save whom. And you will get a satisfying ending, even if it might not be exactly what you were wanting. My only complaint, it wasn't long enough! I wanted more, more, more!
So, with a sad heart, I say goodbye to Nesy, Zayne, Aydan, and so many others. Maybe someday we will meet again and I will get to see what their future has become. For any fan of angels, and demons, I highly recommend this fast paced, heart wrenching, emotion producing, masterpiece that Fonseca has crafted and put to paper.
It is so hard to review the final book in the series as you don’t want to give too much away about what has happened in previous books, but I must say that Dominus was my favourite book of the series. It wrapped the series up and was action packed the whole way through.
Nesy is struggling to come to terms with what happened at the end of Libera Me and wants revenge over what has happened to Ayden. She wants to do it alone, but her closest friends and family come to her aide over and over to try and help her. She is constantly battling the evil forces and her love of Ayden is always on her mind, and whether or not she can save him. She is often conflicted by her feelings, but she has only one goal in the end and will sacrifice herself to achieve it if she has to.
There was a lot of emotion in the book and in a number of places I felt myself tearing up a little. Nesy’s heart cracked that many times, I’m really not sure how she had any left! Seeing into the Villains mind was exciting too… She is probably not the worst Villain I have met, but she is very cunning.
The final book in this series was certainly a ripper!! It was gripping from beginning to end and I found it hard to put down. Christine’s writing style kept me glued to the pages and I just wanted to find out what would happen to Nesy and how she was going to save humanity. Although this story is finished, you can see glimpses of a spin off at the end which I think would be very interesting. If you haven’t tried this series, I suggest you do it now!!
I received a copy of this book from the Author in exchange for an honest review.
It saddens me that this series has come to an end since I enjoyed reading it very much. I couldn't put it down once I started reading it.
This final installment to the trilogy brought out a lot of emotion I especially cried during most certain parts and I had to take a re breather to take a hold of myself.
I admire the characters in these book more than the previous two especially Nessy. She has grown more and tried to grasp about herself and her duty despite her humanity. Although her decisions about things weren't easy despite having those consequences I felt for her then. Her maturity to choose even knowing how it would affect her was never easy but I found great strength in that.
I think I was more looking forward to what was happening to Aydan and how he would be saved. I was teetering on edge especially what I've learned on Libera Me. Imagine my surprise at the ending. I knew there would be many twist and turns but what I thought and read were two different things. I don't know what to feel, asked why? or think even if it's like that it fits the story.
The pacing of the story was just right plus the whirlwind of emotions you'd be experiencing with these characters was just like so so... Although, I'll say this for sure how it ended was something I did not see and not really satisfying for me. I wished there was more to it.
I received a copy from Never Too Old For Y.A. & N.A. Books in exchange for an honest review. I'd like to thank the author as well for giving me the opportunity to read this final installment.
Thank you Christine Fonseca for giving me a copy of Dominus for an honest review.
I have loved this series from the beginning and I was really excited to read this. I feel like I've been waiting forever to read this and was extremely happy to receive this for review.
Each book in this series had me all knotted up and this was no different. I loved how Nesy was so dedicated to Ayden and didn't want to give up on him despite everyone telling her to. What was interesting was this was written in a dual POV but I wasn't expecting Lilith to be the other POV with Nesy. Although that was an interesting perspective I still would've preferred if it had been Aydens.
Although It's not the ending I would've liked, I completely understand why it ended that way and I commend Nesy on the courage of being able to do what was needed. I can't say much more without spoiling but it is action packed.
My only complaint about this was that it was shorter than I would've liked and there wasn't enough of Nesy and Ayden or Zane. I miss the romantic aspect of it because I LOVE romance but I still enjoyed it. I recommend that if you haven't read this series that you check it out! Great job Christine!
I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.
Firstly I would like to thank the author for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this book.
Wow!!! That was really heart-wrenching [but in a good way] !!! This is the perfect ending to the story and it couldn't have been any better than this.
I'm so happy to have made this journey with Nessy and Aydan and I'm glad that I read such a great trilogy. Though I was a bit upset regarding book 1 but from book 2 everything were a whirlwind and I just went on and on with it.
Libera Me ended with a soul-touching ending and though Dominus didn't have a Happily Ever After ending but the ending that it had is mind-blowing and I'm not going to reveal the ending because that's the best and the worst thing in this whole trilogy.
I enjoyed every moment of this book. The emotions, passion, sacrifice, pain, everything were portrayed such genuinely that it brought life to the characters and to the plot it self. The writing style is awesome and I loved the detailed descriptions that the author gave us.
I would definitely recommend it to all and hope that you guys will love it too. Go for it guys!!!
Thanks Christine for giving me a copy of Dominus in exchange for an honest review.
It didn’t take long for me to get to this one after finishing the second book. While I enjoyed it about as much as book two, it does come across as feeling like more of the same a few times with some notable exceptions. We’re introduced to a few new characters and re-acquainted with old ones and once again. New struggles for the characters, and also new heart wrenching moments.
It's hard to give a review without spoiling it, so I gonna keep it short. I wouldn't say that Dominus had a typical HEA but Dominus was the perfect conclusion to this series.
Aydan was an idiot in love, he would do anything for Nesy and so would she. I had been hoping for their happiness all along. Although I've came to realise (when reading book 2) that the ending of this series might not, well, to my liking. And though it might not have been a happy conclusion that I dreamed of, it was a peaceful, satisfying conclusion. It was the way things had to be. With a sad heart, it was a perfect closure for Requiem.
Christine Fonseca has a writing that could sway the reader's mind and I will definitely keep a look out for her works!
So...I imagine if I ever met Christine Fonseca in real life she would say, "Hello, I'm Christine, and I love tortured souls." Her characters always have their struggles, and you are dragged on this heart wrenching journey with them. Libera Me ended with such a twist in the story, and in my opinion, Dominus was the perfect conclusion to this series.
Now that being said, Dominus was in no way a happy book. How could it be with my Aydan in such a dilemma? This is really hard to review without giving anything away...but I have had a soft spot for Aydan from the beginning. I had been hoping for his happiness all along. And though it might not have been a happy conclusion that I dreamed of, it was a peaceful, satisfying conclusion. It was the way things had to be.
And I better say something about Nesy. She just wants to make things right. But there was just no easy way to do it. But she found a way. Maybe not the easiest way. More like a way with torture, but also room to grow and learn your limits and your strengths. She was a great lead that wasn't perfect and learned as she went along.
Third and final book in the series and again is nothing but AMAZING! I was sad that it ended but this series didn't let me down in the slightest. Recommended read for all that like Angel and Demon stories.
This book was given to me by the author for an honest review
Actual rating - 2.5 stars
My first reaction to this book was surprise as it wasn't very long at all (not that I was complaining), but the main problem was the fact that I didn't get much explanations from the whole series.. Throughout the series I felt confused as to why certain events happened, it had the feel of a movie where you skipped scenes which isn't what I want from a book. I'd rather read a 500+ page book and have a lot of detail to fully understand what was going on. Instead I'm wondering what was going on half the time. I really was expecting that the final book would have all the answers id been searching for, unfortunately it didn't. This book I would have to say was the best out of the series as it was action packed and there had twists and turns. Some bits of the book were really good! Unfortunately I just wasn't able to get into the book from the start so my rating is still low. I also expect a book in the final series to have a grand finale.. Which, again, didn't. It left on a cliffhanger, which was fine, IF there was another book coming out. To me the ending of this book was a.. Meh.
I do find this book comes across as feeling like more of the same a few times with some notable exceptions.
Aydan and Nesy were both idiots in love, he would do anything for her and so would she. I had been expecting a happily ever after so I was quite surprised with how it ended. Which is usually a good thing, but I just questioned the whole series. Nothing good came out of it. She might as well have gone through with her assignment in the first book.
