at the beginning the squish became the Football team captain, at first he always lose the game.
at the middle, squish Start using tactics, and then he usually, win but in the middle of the final game.
then lose.
at the end and he put in the plan captain mooch and the captain mooch use lighting to win.

Weird yet engaging. I *think* I get why kids love it. Characters are relatable and seem like friends you'd want to hang out with.

Book four in the series and the pattern is firmly established. Dad is hopeless--but at least he's around! It's the advice Squish gets from Super Amoeba that truly helps him work out his problems and figure things out. A great way to point kids in the right direction without being preachy.

This was a really cool book. It is about this thing called an amoeba and his name is Squish. In this book he decides to join the school soccer club and the coach makes him captain and it becomes a disaster hence the name of the book "Captain Disaster".

It's soccer season for the Amoebas? You heard that right! Soccer season is amongst the Waterfleas( They didn't get to choose their name) and even when Squish is put as captain, they still continue to lose. All they want to do is beat their opponents but the only streak they are having is a losing one. It is up to Squish to figure out a way to start winning and the pressure is on his shoulders now to turn their streak around. Squish doesn't know how to change things up for himself and his team so can he even do it? Will Pod even harness lighting power like he set out to do? All things considered, no one is really sure what the fate of these Amoebas will be in this action-packed comedic graphic novel. Will they win? Will they lose? Will their team even stick together? They need to find a way to work together in order to achieve what they want to? But will this even be enough? So many questions begin unanswered but will soon be answered.
This story was a very sweet graphic novel that made me reminisce on my childhood. I think for a teaching exercise this book can help to show what may be important things about being on a team or in a team environment. I think this book would be good to help those in middle school or of a younger age because it seems like something that they would be able to easily relate to. A great writing exercise would be for each student to give their own definition of what a team is to them, what is the important things when on a team, and how they may view winning or losing. Being on a team can be challenging especially with the pressure from certain peers but it is important to realize that it isn't always about winning-or is it? These amoebas show a lot about what being on a team is all about and covers both the negatives and positives behind it all. It would be good to teach this book in a way to teach a lesson to youth about the importance of team work. Some of the teaching exercises can be used both for writing exercises or in physical education classes. This is a book I can even relate to from when I was a young kid, on my first team in middle school. It's a fun and easy read that will keep you constantly turning the page and even leave you wanting more. They call him "Squish: Captain Disaster" but he doesn't exactly always live up to this title, in a good way.

This book is called “Squish” by Jennifer L. Holm. Squish is a amoeba, he has two best friends, one is called pod, he also is a amoeba; other one is called Peggy, she is a paramecium.
In the story, they will have some football game with other team. The teacher told them let everyone have the chance to kick the ball during game, but they always lost that games. One day, Squish called all of the teammates get together and they talk about the plan during football game.
They won that game, but on the game, just Squish had the chance to kick the ball. Pod and Peggy feel sad because they cannot kick ball anymore, so they quit from the team.
The next day, Squish understood win is not the most important of the game, the most important of this game is have fun and good team works. He let Pod and Peggy back and said he will let everyone has the chance to kick the ball.
So during the game, squish got the ball but he kick the ball the Pod, in the end, Pod kick the ball to the end zone and they won.
This book teach me sometimes won is not important, the important things is have fun. A positive book but the story is too short, I finish it only for 20 minutes. Maybe I should read the longer book next time.

This book doesn't have any awards. The appropriate grade level is 2nd-3rd. This book summed up in one sentence is about germs playing soccer. This book is a nice book for children who are into graphics. A possible class use is when teaching about sports.

It's soccer season, and comic book and twinkie lover Squish has been voted as team captain of the water fleas. Will Squish be able to find a way to help his team play together, win a game, and still have fun? It's a daunting task, but Squish finds a way.

Meh, not as good as the other Squishes but still a good message that having fun and letting everyone play, especially in kids’ sports is more important than winning.
