Karen Salmansohn is a bestselling author (with 2 million books and courses sold), leading behavioral change expert, and columnist for Oprah and Psychology Today, as well as the founder of the popular personal development site NotSalmon.com, which has a vibrant community of 1.5 million followers. Her most recent book is "Your To-Die-For Life: How to Maximize Joy and Minimize Regret . . . Before Your Time Runs Out." She’s been sparking transformations in individuals and companies for a few decades and is passionate about digging deep and finding fascinating insights, tools, and studies from all areas of life, including psychology, Eastern and Western philosophy, neuroscience, quantum physics, and more.
She began writing “self-help for people who wouldn’t be caught dead doing self help” in 1999 with the bestseller How To Be Happy Dammit—the very first personal development book of its kind to have a feisty title, edgy humor, and stylish interior design, which paved the way for self-help authors to write irreverent personal development books. Since then, she’s written many bestsellers, including The Bounce Back Book and Think Happy. Now she’s excited to pioneer the mortality awareness movement by illuminating life’s most avoided conversation—death—and reminding others to live more bravely.

“KINDSIGHT Instead of slapping your forehead and asking, WHAT WAS I THINKING? Break and ask the kinder question, WHAT WAS I LEARNING?”
I'm admittedly a sucker for quotes and sayings and cool graphics, so that's why I bought this book. Just looking at the cover makes me happy. And I'm all about simple because that's pretty much all my brain can process right now.
Examples: "Think of yourself as being negative-thought intolerant. Just as drinking dairy is bad for the lactose intolerant, thinking negatively is bad for you!"
"Accept what was and what is and you'll have more positive energy to pursue what will be."
"If you want to be sad, live in the past. If you want to be anxious, live in the future. If you want to be peaceful, live in the now."
For all of us in pursuing happiness, attitude, and optimism. Well, another Karen here. My dear friend Tash A. recommended me Miss Karen Salmansohn's works two years ago and ever since her works have been a great self-help when life gives me .... and people say that I got attitude.(please explain yourself)lol
A whole book of platitudes is about a whole book minus two too many. A couple were funny, like "if you don't have anything nice to say, take a nap" but in one setting it was a bit much.
An occasional pick up and pick a page, sure. We all can use a little lift. Just not all at once.
Nothing earth shattering in here but some nice reminders with a lot of fun visuals. The kind of book that would be nice to put on the coffee table, look at once in a while, and hope your kids do too.
Reading this was like falling overboard into an enormous tidal wave of positivity and empowerment. I recommend everyone read this; including those who experience deep sadness.
This is a book of memes. Actual picture book memes. I don't know what's worse: that someone published this or that I "read" it. I outgrew picture books decades ago.
"No substance" writes another reviewer. The depth is in the brain of the beholder. If you really take the time to consider any of these "quick pithy little statements", a thinking person will realize that there is a lot to ponder in them.
With the graphics, it can make a fun quick read all the way through. Sometimes a certain page will grab my attention and is exactly what I needed to hear that day.
I was expecting more tidbits of happiness advice and quotes for inspiration than what seemed like page filler pictures. The book comes across more like someone's personal Things That Make Me Smile Tumblr than an actual guide book for others to utilize.
This is a fun little book. (If you want to call it a book). It's a collection of all the inspirational stuff you see shared all over Facebook and Instagram. It's great for when you need a dose of positivity and can't deal with all the b*llsh*t on the internet.
Wow. Awful. Headed to Goodwill. Don’t gift this to anybody unless you know they have a little free library they want to infiltrate. Trite, terrible, & I feel bad for the trees that were lost in this publishing effort.
Full of NLP science contained within; association, affirmation, anchoring. but it works the most if read repeatedly or when you need it. A cute, good and simple book as gift for friend.
