Being unstoppable is about believing and achieving. It’s about having faith in yourself, your talents and your purpose and, most of all, in God’s great love and His divine plan for your life.
Millions around the world recognize the smiling face and inspirational message of Nick Vujicic. Despite being born without arms or legs, Nick’s challenges have not kept him from enjoying great adventures, a fulfilling and meaningful career, and loving relationships. Nick has overcome trials and hardships by focusing on the promises that he was created for a unique and specific purpose, that his life has value and is a gift to others, and that no matter the despair and hard times in life, God is always present. Nick credits his success in life to the power that is unleashed when faith takes action.
But how does that happen? In Unstoppable Nick addresses adversity and difficult circumstances that many people face today, including:
· Personal crises · Relationship issues · Career and job challenges · Health and disability concerns · Self-destructive thoughts, emotions, and addictions · Bullying, persecution, cruelty, and intolerance · Balance in body, mind, heart, and spirit · Service to others
Through stories from his own life and the experiences of many others, Nick explains how anyone wanting a “ridiculously good life” can respond to these issues and more to become unstoppable. What’s standing in your way? Are you ready to become unstoppable?
Nicholas James Vujicic (Serbian: Николас Џејмс Вујичић, Nikolas Džejms Vujičić) is a Serbian Australian evangelist and motivational speaker born with tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare disorder characterised by the absence of all four limbs. As a child, he struggled mentally and emotionally as well as physically, but eventually came to terms with his disability and, at the age of seventeen, started his own non-profit organisation, Life Without Limbs. Vujicic presents motivational speeches worldwide, on life with a disability, hope and finding meaning in life. He also speaks about his belief that God can use any willing heart to do his work and that God is big enough to overcome any and all disabilities.
Unstoppable is the sort of book that’s hard to review. It’s tempting to just say, “You really need to go read this book,” and leave it at that, trusting the book to speak for itself. But of course, the point of a review is to encourage the reader to try the book in the first place, and after that, it’s always up to the story.
The trouble I have with many non-fiction inspirational books is their tendency to offer formulas or blueprints for how to succeed. And if you disagree with one point, or one step doesn’t apply to you, the rest of the information can seem equally invalid. Rather than take this approach, Mr. Vujicic takes a very conversational approach. He tells stories of problems he’s faced and questions he’s struggled with, and he shares what helped him. At that point, it’s up to the reader whether the book is an amazingly inspiring story, or a source of inspiration.
You might think from the cover that the focus of the book is overcoming the obstacle of living without arms and legs, but most of book focused on much more mundane issues. Handling failure, overcoming depressions, coping with bullying, dealing with financial trouble, and falling in love are just a few, and Mr. Vujicic weave his own stories through the big picture issues with humor and humility. His constant conclusion that the answers lay with God and a relationship with Him never came across as trite. Rather, they seemed a gift.
Some people possess the rare ability to make themselves completely vulnerable to others. Telling stories about their lives and their trials isn’t egoistical, it is an offering. It gives us a chance to learn from them and since they have no way of knowing what God can use, they give it all. One person might take comfort in the fact that another person has overcome childhood bullying. Another might be consoled that moments of doubt aren’t signs of a weak faith. Mr. Vujicic is one of the people who can extend this grace, and I would encourage you to give Unstoppable a try. You have no idea what might be waiting.
Reblogged from my site: myrdan.com My thanks to WaterBrook Multnomah for sending me a review copy of Unstoppable, in exchange for my honest opinion of this book.
Q: Did they suspect me of being an international terrorist? an arms dealer with no arms? Honest, I hadn’t laid a hand on anyone. (See what happens when I’m nervous? Make me stop!) (c) Q: I called our team at my nonprofit organization, Life Without Limbs (LWL), in California and asked them to start a prayer chain. “We’re moving up the chain of command—way up!” I told them. ... Within an hour, one hundred fifty people were praying for a quick resolution to my visa challenge. (c) Q: Being born without arms and legs was not God’s way of punishing me. I know that now. I have come to realize that this “disability” would actually heighten my ability to serve His purpose as a speaker and evangelist. (с)
I love reading stories about overcoming adversity.
And that is exactly what Nick Vujicic has done. Born without any arms and legs, Nick could be expected to give up, overwhelmed by the difficulties of life facing someone with such disabilities.
Nick did no such thing.
In Unstoppable, Nick describes the power of faith and how it has enabled him to do things he, or anyone else, ever thought possible.
In the book, Vujicic talks about his struggles, from being bullied to thoughts of suicide. he talks about lessons learned, from faith and love to financial difficulties. And he talks about dependence and independence, depending on God more and depending upon himself less.
Here's what I liked about Unstoppable: Nick tells his story, and it is fascinating. He also adds the stories of several people he has met who have overcome tremendous obstacles in their lives, and how they have stayed faithful to God in the process.
On the other hand, though, there were a few things I didn't like about the book. While the content was excellent, Nick's writing style aggravated me. It didn't flow well, and jumped around too much. Some chapters were hard to follow because of this. It seemed, at times, like rambling.
All in all, I enjoyed reading the book. And the points he made in each of his chapters were solid. This is a book I can certainly hand out to teens in my youth ministry who may be struggling. I'm sure it will be encouraging to them, as much of it was to me. I'm sure it will be to you as well.
How do you respond to adversity? What can you to do help yourself respond better? You can leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
Heartfelt and inspirational but a bit too preachy and I wished he weaved in more of his personal experiences because I felt like I was reading a transcript of a Ted Talk
Nick Vujicic is a speaker. He speaks to thousands of listeners, reaching their souls, and touching hearts enchained by pain and rejection. He's a writer. His books inspire and embolden believers and non-believers to live a radical life. He's an advocate. He fights for equality, kindness, and compassion. He was born without limbs, but that hasn't deterred him from doing the impossible.
Nick Vujicic is unstoppable. He never lets his physical limitations get in the way of living. He doesn't pursue a normal life like everyone else. He seeks out the extraordinary.
His past experiences allow him to connect with almost anyone. Through the pain he's suffered and from the joys he's found, people from diverse cultures who endure struggles are drawn to him. His driven spirit resonates with their needs. They feel it. He understands. He notices them. He gives them hope through his messages of faith.
"All you need is to put your faith, your talents, your education, your knowledge, and your skills out there to benefit others in ways big and small. Even the tiniest acts of kindness can have a ripple effect. Even people who think they have no power to impact the world around them can make a huge difference by joining forces and working together to become the change they desire." - Nick Vujicic
My Thoughts:
Wow! Such a powerful story. From the get-go, Unstoppable pulled me into its pages and immersed me emotionally with Nick's honest and humble writing. It's an easy read, in that, Nick's author voice is smooth and light. But, on the other end, his stories are heavy, filled with harsh realities and pain. The feelings expressed are a rollercoaster of emotions.
I found Nick's heart on his challenges and victories to be eye-opening. The true-life stories he included of the people in his book were heart-rending, but full of grace. These people needed to be heard, and I'm so glad Nick mentioned them. Their stories will impact lives.
Drawing from his own past, Nick offers advice and encouragement to those experiencing bullying, depression, thoughts of suicide, cutting - anyone who's felt left in the shadows. His message for life is simple: love God, serve humanity. If you see someone in pain, help them.
"Too much of our world is about seeking comfort instead of providing it." - Nick Vujicic
This book may move you to cry. It may move you to take action. It may motivate you to face your weaknesses and bring them into the light. It may inspire you to serve your community with an unswerving devotion. It may open your eyes to see those who are afflicted. It may create an unstoppable spirit within your heart. You may be driven to do the impossible!
I was eager to read each and every chapter, so my only qualm about Unstoppable is that it was too short. I wanted it to go on. I know for a fact, I'll be picking up his other books: Life Without Limits, Limitless: Devotions for a Ridiculously Good Life, and Stand Strong: You Can Overcome Bullying. This is by far one of the best inspirational books I've ever read. Highly, highly recommended.

This book was provided to me by Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review.
I would give 5 stars to the person and life of the author of this story, and to his parents for keeping their faith in God and raising their son to know he was created for a purpose by Him. Everything that this man overcame and all he seeks to do with his life are inspiring considering his physical limitations of no arms or legs. That said, I did not like the writing style of this particular book. I felt like he was preaching at me, and although his words were no doubt from the heart and wise, they needed to be woven into more personal experiences in order to draw me in to his life more. I think his life as a public speaker / evangelist make this read like a script for a speech instead of more intimate reflections.
There is no question that Nick Vujicic is inspirational. He has overcome some incredible odds and has lived a fantastically interesting life. I've seen several videos of his speeches and lectures and thought I would have gobbled this book up. I was convinced I'd be flooded with emotion while flipping the pages.... but I wasn't.
I was actually bored. Terribly bored.
There are those people who absolutely crave self-help types of books and those who dread them. I'm somewhere in the middle. This one just didn't do it for me though. It goes in the pile on unfinished books for this year.
"Beautiful and powerful book about never ever giving up in the end. So many trials, and different things Nick faced. God bless him, and others like him who face life's obstacles, and give it to God to help them in thier lives!"
The book is talking about the faith in action how can i do this i love God i have to do things to prove my love to God actions speak than word never stop to have faith to have hope ... always remember the miracle of the blind man why God done this for because of his sins or his parent's sins the answer is not his nor his parents but to glorify God's name .. God gave you lessons even diseases and disabblities to get attached him to know him more to stick to him to listen to his voice and to know your purpose in your life ... and always remember God's plan for you is better than yours for yourself always pray to know your way. He is talking about bullying what the bullying can make for people they actually kill themselves how to cure that. He is talking about how to saw a good seeds under the name of Jesus christ how to serve others our country our community to never stop serving others To have balance in all aspects of life spirtually, emotionally, socially and and your work. The book is really awesome ❤🥰 I loved it ❤
This book is based on Nick Vujicic life to show how this man with no arms and no legs but still goes through every day with a smile on his face. He always gives inspirational speeches and talks about how God has worked through his life and how He has helped him through the small things in life. In one of this parts in the book, it is him talking about how after his speeches people would come to talk to him and take pictures with him. Also, they would talk about things they have been going through their life and if something was bothering them so they could ask him for help. I would recommend this book the only thing is that it is kind of slow but otherwise really good.
So I have seen Nick Vujicic in person and he was phenomenal to listen to! His message rang out and touched the lives of everyone listening! I expected his books to be just as impact-ful...and they are! This is my first book I've read from him and it was just inspiring. I got emotional over how Nick could accomplish so much! The story on how he met his wife was just adorable! I love how he shares the downfalls and struggles in his life and how he was able to overcome. He also uses other names, stories and lives to showcase how big God is. I love how he shares his experiences, recalling stories from the different lands he's traveled and the people he's met. What I didn't expect was that he was willing to talk about topics that are very difficult to discuss: depression, suicide, bullying, and abuse. I think anyone can read this book and be inspired, motivated, encouraged and healed from his message of hope and love!
Any word or rather any thought which pushes you to think and reflect on how you can improve your quality of life usually strikes a deep chord with me. This book was no different. Yet the tone of the book didn't really go down well with me. Having read the first book by Nick was what had prompted me to pick this one up - and I was slightly disappointed. The tone of the book is rather pompous and preachy which often made me overlook the message which Nick was trying to highlight. I have still given it an extra star for his sheer resilience.
This book is very simple, but I bought it after I read it to give to my friends to read. Our current generation of Christians, at least those that surround me now, are constantly struggling with depression, fear, uncertainty, problems in their spiritual life. The number of prayer request for improvement in the relationships with God outnumber the requests for wisdom on how to serve this world. And this book heals from depression, because you look into the life of a person who is strong and happy without hands and legs. Inspiring. Cooling. Must read.
This story is so sweet and faithful. Nick's faith is so amazing. I loved reading his story about meeting Kanae and trusting always that God was going to fulfilled desires for a family. His writing is so encouraging. It's definitely a spiritual gift The Lord has given him. It's a brilliant book on faith too. His life is a great testament to that.
Nick Vujicic sold millions of copies of his books encouraging people to have an optimistic outlook on everything. Unstoppable: The Incredible Power of Faith in Action is an inspirational book about dealing with the negative portions of life. Providing guidance for fighting against personal crises, self-destructive thoughts, health/disability concerns, bullying and more. Nick managed to live a meaningful life despite having a disorder that rendered him to be born without four limbs. He reveals how anything is possible if faith is put into action, hence the title Unstoppable.
The main strength of this book is how Nick uses anecdotes from himself, the Bible and the people he interacted with to convey his message. In the book, He shares his own experience with bullies and explains how to not be affected emotionally. He often includes passages and stories from the bible and quote from famous figures like Jesus Christ. One of the people Nick interacted was Rebekah Tolbert, she experienced similar struggles Nick had, keeping her faith up she later started helping others in her non-profit organization. The main weakness would be the writing style and how it is carried out. Looking at other reviews stating some of the book’s flaw, I can agree that it felt like the author was preaching.
As for recommendations, I think everybody needs a little inspiration. Personally, I recommend this book to every person out there, especially individuals who struggle with keeping their hopes up. As a student, I often encounter situations that lead to negative thoughts, and an inspirational book like Unstoppable helps me escape from these situations. I’m sure it could help many other students too. I give this four out of five stars.
Unstoppable is the second book written by Nick Vujicic, founder of Life Without Limbs. Nick Vujicic is a motivational speaker who was born without arms or legs. When he was first born, like many parents they didn’t understand why their son had been born without any limbs. But despite what the world would declare that Nick wouldn’t be able to do, he is doing! He has learned to surf, skateboard, and swim. His life wasn’t without pain and many fears controlled his negative thoughts. He strongly believed that he would be a burden to his family forever and he couldn’t make a decent living on his own. He struggled with depression and suicide as a young boy at the age of ten. He wanted to end his life where he wouldn’t have to be a burden to his family. He tried to drown himself in his bathtub a few times, but luckily he wasn’t able to actually go through with it.
He also feared that his desire to get married and have a family wouldn’t ever happen. He felt that because he couldn’t hold his wife hand or hug her, no one would want him as a husband. Chapter three went into great detail about how he eventually met his wonderful wife Kanae. And after the book was released, they announced that they are expecting their first child! His story also tells the graphic experiences about him being bullied and the impact it can have on a child.
I would recommend this marvelous book to any readers who are feeling like quitting and giving up on life or love. If you have lost your hope for a better future, this book will benefit you, if you take the messages to heart. Nick’s book is about finding your passion, making a difference in the world, putting action behind your faith, believing that you are here for a reason and purpose, that you are loved, that God is going to work everything out for your ultimate good, that God can give the desires of your heart, and so much more!
Chapter three was the chapter that encouraged me the most because I have like many others doubted that God had a special spouse for me to marry and that I would one day have children. I struggled to believe that it was even possible that someone would even want me. I’m twenty-two years old and personally I haven’t dated any woman or, in fact, been on a date. And to be honest, dating seriously frightens me and I won’t know how to keep the conversation going. I had a difficult time healing from my past disappointments about my failed relationships rejections. I only seemed to attract the type of women that like to play around with hearts and then move on. Often times I believe that others deserve to have that close intimacy in marriage and that’s something I won’t ever have. I also saw the hard truth that I was jealous of everyone else who was in a blissful relationship and I feared that I would die and never have experienced the love of a woman.
Nick’s story about his own failed attempts at relationships deeply encouraged me to keep trying and let God take the lead. I am beginning to realize that to find love I have to never give up on it. I will admit that sometimes I want to and I am guilty of singing Miranda Lambert’s hit song, “Kerosene”. The verse that I would sing loudly would be: “I'm giving up on love cause love's given up on me”. Nick helped open my eyes to the fact that I was the one who is afraid of rejection and of actually finding love. I shielded and protected myself from experiencing happiness and love. I was lonely and I didn’t want to face the truth and overcome the fears that I had. Nick’s story is a huge encouragement that God will give me the desires of my heart. Nick also reminded me that I wasn’t so alone in my feelings, disappointments, pain, and hurts. And whether I stay single or eventually marry I will still be alright. I truly believe that Nick’s story will vastly change your life and give you much needed encouragement! By the end of the book, you will realize that you are unstoppable, and you must put action behind your faith.
“I received this ARC copy of Unstoppable for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review”.
This book consists of different life stories that Nick has to share to everybody. His motivation to write this book is to inspire those who are struggling in life, or just for those who are thinking of having a better life. This book is laid out in a few different sections, each section focusing on a different point in either his life, or instructions/guidance’s on how to live life better. Nick is very religious being an evangelist, he emphasizes on the messages of God or his ideas of why human beings are in the world.
It was interesting to read Nick’s book after watching a few of his Youtube video’s and seeing him on TV. Although I knew that he was a motivational speaker without limbs, I never realized how spiritual, faithful and religious he was until reading this book. At times, as an agnostic/atheist/apatheist reader, it was difficult to take in all that Nick had to say. His message is always related to God and how he gives the power to live life to the fullest; or to be unstoppable.
I found his book both interesting, but also sort of “in the face”. The reason why it was probably so “in the face” was because of my worldview and religious standpoint, but I also felt like he emphasized it so much, it seemed unreal. I do understand and appreciate some things that he has to say, such as how we all strive to have a better life, yet when we reflect on our life, we tend to think of only the bad things. I understand how Nick’s life has always been tracked on his spirituality and faith, but for those who were just never born that way, I don’t see why living your normal life would be any better or worse.
What I got out of this book was what I sort of expected when I read the back cover. Some parts of it was quite difficult to read due to the nature of Nick’s religion, but it also gave me good insight on how different people live different lives. Nick considers himself a gift of God and it’s hard to disagree with that. Although I do not believe in God or a higher divine being, if that's what Nick says he is, then I completely support his opinion and how he views himself.
I recommend this book to those who want to be inspired by a faithful guy with no limbs, but is able to put a smile on our face no matter what.
Initially I wanted to read the book, because I was really interested in Nick’s life. I was so inspired by the impact of his life and conferences around the globe. Last september he was in Mexico and his speech was broadcasted in TV.
The main topic of the book is about the “power of faith in action”, going beyond our limits, physical or mental. And put into action our words or our beliefs. Nick’s faith is well presented on each chapter, you can easily feel how he honors God in everything he does, and writes. His own life is an extreme example of the topic, and I’m sure it’s not only inspiring to those with physical disabilities.
Unfortunately there were many things I didn’t like about the book. First the long chapter about love and relationships, where Nick shares his love story of how he met his wife Kanae, and his advices on the subject. I’m not sure if it’s only me but I found the chapter obviously personal, maybe too much actually. And there’s a point where Nick shares his view about his past relationships, which according to him were allowed by God to learn. Let me say I’m not agree with that thought. We were given free will to take our own decisions, good or bad they’ll have consequences and only by God’s grace we learn from those bad decisions in the future.
The other thing is that half of the book, or more, is filled with personal experiences from other people: tv stars, students, ministry people, etc. They’re awesome testimonies about putting faith into action, they’re good examples of faith and courage, but then the book itself seems to be more a “collection of” inspiring testimonies than a book written by only one author.
I’m sure that Nick Vujicic’s life example will continue to reach more people to give their best in life, and hopefully give themselves to God. But I’m sure he has more personal wisdom to offer from his own life experiences and relationship with God.

Book Review: Unstoppable: The Incredible Power of Faith in Action by Nick Vujicic: True Soulful Inspiration
Nick Vujicic is a well known speaker and whenever he speaks in front of his more than thousands of audience, he has touched their soul and heart deeply thereby bringing a big impact in their life. His books on the same track have been able to motivate and inspire his readers. By profession Nick Vujicic is an advocate and his main focus in that field is to fight for equality in one's life. Despite a big setback of his life at the time of his birth, when he was born without limbs, he never let this hurdle come into his way to achieve tremendous heights in his life in such a way that most of the normal people do not achieve in their life. It seems as if nothing has been impossible for this spiritual soul.
Unstoppable: The Incredible Power of Faith in Action by Nick Vujicic is a wonderful 256 page inspirational story that was first published in 2012 by WaterBrook Press. It gets you hooked your mind and heart to it the moment you start reading it and soon you build an emotional connect with the flow of words as you move on. It is a light and simple read but immensely powerful in terms of conviction of positive power in the world and within you against all storms of life. The stories are painful as they touch the bleeding portions of life comprising of brutal realities and pains that come through. The stories are powerful enough to make you realize with the harshness of life and get you driven page by page, emotionally.
This amazing book Unstoppable: The Incredible Power of Faith in Action by Nick Vujicic comprises of gracefully told stories of real life stories of people who had to fight against the tides, against all odds. These true stories told in such an inspirational way are truly going to touch every reader's heart and will definitely enhance their inner strength and encouragement to help them in fighting their individual fight of life.
Our thoughts: Nick Vujicic’s story is inspiring. He presents the story of his life in an easy to read format that is engaging and thought provoking. It is amazing to see his determination to not allow physical limitations define who he is. He consistently looks to God for wisdom and direction. His faith that God makes no mistakes is clearly presented as a source of strength and encouragement to try new areas and to influence others.
He chronicles events in his life candidly and presents both the positive and the negative situations that he has had to deal with. There are many interesting events and some surprising twists and turns throughout his life that keep your interest peaked while reading. Most importantly, throughout the whole book is the importance of “Faith in Action”. Not only does he live this for his own life but he inspires others to do the same as he goes around the world speaking to groups.
I would strongly encourage anyone to read and be encouraged by the story on Nick’s life and by the power of the God that he so faithfully depends on and serves each day. (reviewed by C.Delorge, Librarian)

DISCLOSURE: Review copies of Unstoppable were provided for the purpose of an honest review. Opinions expressed are solely those of the reviewer. There was no expressed requirement to render a positive review.
I have heard a lot about Nick Vujicic over the past two years. I have seen a couple amazing and inspiring interviews with him and was excited about getting to read his book.
I have to say that I was disappointed in this book. Nick Vujicic is such a dynamic speaker, the book fell short of his style. He touched on many topics in the book, but didn’t seem to have a common thread to pull them together. At times it read like a personal narrative, at others like a inspirational book, and yet others a call for action without anything that made it flow well together.
Another thing that was annoying at toward the beginning is over use of the word I. If this book had been my introduction to Nick, I would have to think he was very prideful. As it is, I think he just over used the word.
This book wasn’t all bad. I don’t think you can come away from reading about, watching, or listening to; Nick’s life without being inspired by his attitude. Choosing to live a full life despite his handicaps is an encouragement to all of us. Reading this makes you realize that there are no excuses for us. We should be out living our lives on fire for God.
I also appreciated his honesty about the ups and downs of his life. Too often people with ministries feel they have to appear perfect, making the rest of us feel like we can never measure up.
Overall this was a fine oen time read and I would be willing to read his other book and see if that one is better.
I received this book from WaterBrook Press in exchange for my honest review. I was under no obligation to write a positive review. The opinions in this review are entirely my own.
I love Nick Vujicic and find his story incredibly inspirational, so I was eager to read his new book, Unstoppable. I finally got the chance when it was released in paperback (I was given a complementary copy by Waterbrook Press in exchange for this honest review). In Unstoppable Nick addresses many issues of our day. The back cover of the book lists: “personal crises; relationship issues; career and job changes; health and disability concerns; self-destructive thoughts, emotions, and addictions; bullying, persecution, cruelty and intolerance; imbalance in body, mind, heart, and sprit; [and] feeling out of control.”
I’d advise readers to choose the chapters that they feel apply to their circumstances and read those first. I didn’t use this approach and found myself feeling bogged down in topics that didn’t pertain to me. When I got to the chapters that did address issues that I face, I was extremely moved by the wisdom and comfort found in Nick’s words. Many of the issues are unique to Nick’s target population (youth and young adults) but most of us would readily admit that we’ve faced one, if not many, of these issues regardless of our age.
Nick didn’t disappoint. I am humbled by his sage advice…wisdom beyond his years. He is a shining example of Romans 8:28. All things do work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose. Once again, Nick Vujicic, a man with no arms or legs, has proven that there is no disability too great, no obstacle too insurmountable, no challenge too big, to stop the Lord from accomplishing His purposes in us if we submit to His will for our lives.
