In the fourth installment of The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter, Chloe and the other vampire hunters are suffering the aftermath of the vampire attack on their community. Many hunters were injured, and loved ones were murdered. More than that, there is a loss of security and peace since the hunters' safe haven was breached and invaded. Chloe and Drew struggle just to get along and understand each other without Luke there to guide them.
During this period of uncertainty, Chloe and Drew both try to live a normal life as teenagers by going to the New Year's bash, she with Gavin and Drew with Christina, Chloe's recent rival. Chloe is, once again, reminded that nothing is 'normal' in her life any more, when she begin to show signs she's developing supernatural gifts from her father's bloodline, too.
The bash does little to lift her feelings of guilt and responsibility for the attack on the community, because she knows it's her presence there that caused the vampires to attack the hunters. This attack nearly took the life of her only remaining family member from her mother's side. She doesn't want to put anyone else she loves at risk.
Before she has time to put any plans into action, a surprise phone call from someone unexpected sets the wheels in motion. Chloe now knows what she must do...
Jennifer Malone Wright is best known for her best selling novella series, The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter. Other works include the follow up to The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter series called The Arcadia Falls Chronicles, The Graveyard Guardians series and her full length vampire novel called Savior (A Higher Collective Novel).
She resides in the beautiful mountains of northern Idaho with her husband and five children where she practices preparing for the zombie apocalypse. Just kidding!
But seriously, between the craziness of taking care of her children, Jennifer has little time left for herself. The time she does have left, usually leading far into the night, is spent working on her beloved fiction or chatting with her equally crazy friends.
I have the completed collection of The Vampire Hunter's Daughter. But am writing separate reviews for each part. I love how you can see how Chloe grows and becomes a family with the Hunter community. Chloe and Drew in this part of the series drift apart a little. When the community is attacked, he grieves in a way that pushes Chloe away, and into Gavin. Gavin is nice and good looking but something about him that just doesn't sit right with me. There is a reason Drew and Gavin don't like each other. But what? With Luke in the hospital Chloe feels alone, since Drew wont talk o her. She starts to feel like its her fault that people are getting hurt. Trevor wants her, bad. What will she do? Read The Vampire Hunter's Daughter to find out :) this is a must read....Grab your copy now.
There's no emotion ... The way she is with her grandfather, the relationship between her and Drew and even her new bff it was cold.. Wants to be my new bff ok no one is has that spot
Review for The Vampire Hunters Daughter, by Jennifer Malone Wright
The Vampire Hunter's Daughter is a serial novel that introduces the reader to Chloe Kallistrate, a 14 year old girl who witnesses her mother's death and quickly discovers why her mother kept her hidden from her family all those years. In Part I, Chloe discovers that her mother was a vampire hunter and not just any vampire hunter, but a direct descendent from the most powerful bloodlines of vampire hunters. Forced to leave all she's ever known behind and begin a new life amongst a secret community of vampire hunters, Chloe must learn to trust and learn the skills necessary to achieve the vengeance she most desires against the vampire responsible for her mother's death. Part II in the series begins with Chloe's training and the struggles to adjust to her new life and role as a vampire hunter when all she really wants is to be a normal teenage girl. When faced with danger and the threat of a vampire, Chloe begins to realize that her life is far from normal. She has a purpose---a drive. And that is to keep focus on what she was meant to do: kill the vampire who killed her mother. In Part III & IV we see Chloe discovering her new powers and why she is different from the other vampire hunters in the community. We also get a glimpse into Chloe's heritage and on how she is a descendent of an immortal demi-god. With the development of her gifts and the realization of her heritage, Chloe begins to understand why the vampires will stop at nothing to get to her. And after the vampire hunting community is attacked and lives are lost, Chloe begins to question her being there and placing everyone she's begun to love, life in jeopardy. Will she stay or will she seek revenge once and for all? Well you have to read the books in order to find out. I really enjoyed reading this serial novel, Jennifer M. Wright will have you hooked from the very beginning. The characters are great. Not your typical whiny, soft teenagers, but real bad ass vampire hunters that mean business. There is a lot of action, suspense and even a bit of romance to these series. At the end of each part, you will be left with wanting to know what will happen next, but at the same time, not wanting the series to end. My rating for Part I- IV is: 4/5 as a whole.
Part IV of the series takes place right after the vampire attack on the hunter's compound. Chloe's arm is still in a cast and her grandfather Luke remains in the hospital. This leaves Chloe and Drew to fend for themselves while he recovers.
Chloe was invited to the New Year's Dance by Gavin, a senior. She is nervous because this is her first date and Drew appears to be getting crankier by the day. On the evening of the dance, Chloe discovers that Drew is taking her nemesis, Christina. They go to the dance and Chloe struggles with her feelings for Drew; so, she has Gavin take her home. They share a kiss that brings her fire ability to the forefront and while she attempts to settle down, Drew throws punches at Gavin. Of course, Chloe is angry and storms off to her room
The next day, Drew apologizes to Chloe and Gavin makes another date to go with Chloe to the shooting range. Gavin shares with Chloe his feelings as well as allows her to get a glimpse of his water abilities. When she returns home, she receives a unexpected phone call from her father, Trevor. He is threatening to kill her grandfather if she does not go to him. She must do whatever is necessary to protect those she loves. Will she be in time to help her grandfather and will she go off with her Dad? You have to read this book to find out. Reminder: This is just a short story and not a full blown novel. I cannot wait to read the next story in the series.
This is part four in this mini series, I was so excited for it to finally be released!! I love these short books, perhaps even more that I love the Witches of Santa Anna short books!!
This time around we see Chloe struggle to come to terms with what has happened to her grandfather, and blames herself for the attack on the village. Chloe is toying with the idea of just up and leaving in order to keep the people she has come to care about safe.
I loved this book, I think it's my favourite out of them all so far, I loved all the teenage angst between Chloe, Drew and Gavin. Although I have to say I'm rooting for Drew, I think he is a much better match for Chloe than Gavin will ever be. I do like Gavin though, him and Chloe do share a few special moments together in this book. It's sweet that they can bond so well together over magic and he will probably be a great friend to Chloe in the future of the series, but romantically I think Drew has to get the girl in the end.
I loved all the mystery and suspense around just what Chloe would finally decide to do, and when I got to the end I was shocked! Completely and utterly shocked! I need book 5 now please, I don't think my poor heart can wait to see what's going to happen to Chloe!
Anne here and wow Part 4 has left me on the edge of my seat!! Now that Chloe is getting stronger and growing into her new life she is shown just what she can do!! With powerful gifts given by the gods, Chloe is going to be a force to be reckoned with. All the while Chloe fights to be semi normal and has some normal girl feelings going on that she doesn't know how to deal with. She is dating and being girlish and all the while the compound is under attack and now the people closest to her are hurt and taken away. Chloe has trouble dealing so she starts shutting down and plotting a secret mission in her own mind. Her grandfather pleads with her not to run off while he is immobilized, but Chloe will not have a choice when the person she hates the most is threatening the only family she has left. Part 4 leaves you with a ginormous cliff hanger and my mouth fell open when i ran out of pages to read. Bring on part 5 quickly. 5 out of 5 stars for The Vampire Hunters Daughter Part 4 by Jennifer Malone Wright.
I received his book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. I love this series! I just wish that I was reading the complete collection instead of the short stories. Shit is always just about to go down and then BAM!!! Cliffhanger ending. I feel like this instalment had the most emotion behind it, because of the obvious reasons in book three. I could feel the remorse and also regret. But most of all you could feel Drew fighting between blaming Chloe for the incident and but he was also in agreement that things need to change. Chloe and Drew are being forced apart by these feelings but at the same time coming to the realization that they love each other. Sorry Gavin. (Or this is how I am interpreting it). I can't wait to find out what happens! Vampire lovers and fans of vampire hunters need to add this series to their TBR lists ASAP!!
I absolutely love this short story series! Jennifer Malone Wright has done it again! She has written a continuance of a short story for the 4th time in a row and managed to leave them off in the perfect spot to keep you in suspense and wanting more! I can't wait to find out what happens next, now that Chloe's life has once again taken a drastic turn! Even more I expect Drew will soon be playing a bigger role in the stories to come, at least I hope he does! Will he go after Chloe? Will they're relationship change in anyway? And yet, what is this connection that Chloe and Gavin have? All questions I can't wait to discover answers to!
Another great addition to the series. I think it the first 4 parts were put together it would make one awesome book!! I can't wait for the rest to be released, I want to see how Chloe's abilities progress, and of course to find out more about the vampires.
I think I’ve said this before but I’m a huge fan of this short story series, I have become addicted! The more I read the more I fall in love! I love Chloe she is strong and smart and dose not let anyone mess or take advantage of her or the ones she loves. If you have not read the others you might not want to read on because there will be spoilers for you..
After the vampire attack on their community, they are now trying to pick up the pieces. Chloe and Drew are trying to get along but all it seems they do is fight even more these days and with Luke recovering there is no one there to help keep the peace. Chloe once again starts to show signs of new powers coming in. When she is asked to the New Year ’s Eve bash she was hoping it would at least take her mind off things for thing night. But it doesn’t help, all she can think about is the reason they were attacked and people were killed was because of her, because she was there. So Chloe starts to come up with a plan, she refuses to let the people she loves be hurt any longer.
The is the 4th installment to The Vampire Hunter's Daughter Series.
Chloe goes on her first date to a New Year's Bash with a hotty named Gavin. While at the bash, she has a little jealousy moment over Drew and his date. Wait til you find out who is date is!!! Chloe decides it is best to leave, so her and Gavin head back to her house. Drew ends up no happier about Chloe's date and heads back home as well. That is when thing get a little heated!! Due to the "issue" between Gavin and Drew, there is tension between Chloe and Drew. Before they get back on good graces, Chloe receives a phone call that will have her make a difficult decision and will change her life forever.
Needless to say, things are getting a little hot to handle. I can't wait to see how Chloe handles this next challenge.

I really like this self-discovery short story series, it touches base for me when Chloe's mom dies when Chloe is a young girl. Been there, it sucks! I hope to see alot more of Chloe in the near furure.
OMG all the emotions of being a teenager, and a female at that. Chloe, Drew, and Gavin, what an awesome team, only if the boys would play nice together. What will Chloe do next and why? I love the suspense and mystery, twists and turns, and especially the action-packed fight scenes. I want more!
This installment made me sad because installment 5 is not out yet and I want it now. The story is really starting to get action packed in this book. I can not even express how much fun I am having with this series. Yay for the return of the serial novel and double yay for it being a fun adventure about vampires ( not fun as in vampires killing people is fun, but fun as in super fun read!). I am excited that part five is almost ready!!!
Ok so this left off with a HUGE cliffhanger and I think that is just sooo much fun for authors. It's cruel! Cruel I tell you! I am so hooked on this series. I am rooting for Chloe and Gavin. I think there's more to Trevor's involvement in this story. Just saying. I can't wait to read the next one! I love all these hunters already. Jennifer Malone Wright has made them so real and likable. I definitely recommend this series to ALL ages. Happy reading. :-).
10*s. I purchased my copy from Smashwords.com and I am here to give my honest review.
WOW, lots happened in this part of Chloe's story!! She has gotten stronger in powers and is still trying learn how to save the world from vampires. A MUST read story for anybody!! Thank you, Jennifer, for another part of the story, where we are still watching Chloe grow up and become her true destiny!!
This series is so addicting!! Once I read the 1st one I just kept downloading them & finished them 1 a day!! Don't miss out on Chloe & her exciting life! There is so much more to come!!
The MC gets backed into the corner and has to make a decision that no one wants. Teenage relationship woes are also on the forefront. This is very much still holding my interest! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
This story just keeps getting better and better! I love this series so much. I only don't like how short they are. I wish it was more compiled, but it's not really much of a complaint.
I love this series. Steady flow. I would recommend it. Already into part V now. if you love vampires and vampire hunters. This is a series for you. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
I am so sad that I have had this book for over a year and it just sat in my Kindle, sadly, waiting for me to open it and read it.
Gah! I am such a crazy person sometimes.
I hate it when I have no idea that a wonderful series is just sitting there, waiting for me to get my act together and start it.
I am so glad that the author nudged me into starting it. If I hadn't who knows how long it would have sat there and I would have been missing out.
I love discovering series that are just fabulous and yet unknown. I love spreading the word about them.
And this is quite the series. Right away we are swept into the story with a whirl wind of non stop action as Chloe's whole life is about to take a drastic change and secrets are revealed.
After she witnesses the brutal murder of her mother by vampires and saved by another group of vampire hunters, Chloe learns there was a lot she didn't know about her mother's life and even her own.
She finds out that not only was her mother a vampire hunter from a prestigious blood line and one of the best there were but that her father also happens to be a vampire and he has been searching for her since the day she was born.
If that wasn't weird enough she is thrown into a new town and home, a community especially designed for vampire hunter where she learns she has a grandfather she never knew existed and that she too, will be training to take her mother's place in the family line.
Yep, her world is about to change.
This is such a fun series and I love that it is broken up in parts (may sound strange to some, I know) I love that I can read it when I don't have a whole lot of time and still get something action packed and that will leave me eager to start the next installment. And each installment just keeps getting better and better.
I do have to warn you though, this will be a series that you will want more than one part before you start it because, one just won't be enough. And the great part? you can try the first part in this series for free, you can purchase it on Amazon and Smashwords free of charge. Pretty fabulous right?
So what are you waiting for, go out, give it a try. You won't regret it!
I give this series a very solid 4 Stars and can't wait to read more!!!
** This review is of the first 4 volumes in this series.**
Did I enjoy this book: I did! I was looking for a low-intensity, fun little read, and I found it! Wright sent me the whole series at once, but I love the idea of publishing a book bit by bit – it’s a nice little reminder of the days when authors published things piecemeal in magazines. There were a few little editing issues, but nothing so major as to distract.
Chloe’s great – I’d have written her a few years older, but she’s a weird, funny little thing, and it works. She’s got a great sense of humor about her own hunter-vampire-demigod status, and I love her snark. The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter has all the ingredients for a delicious little end-of-the-evening reading snack: the ever present love triangle, a meanie-pants father, some kick-ass fight scenes, and, of course, teen angst. I finished the whole thing in an evening.
Would I recommend it: For Sure! Since I’m, um, ::ahem:: 29 ::ahem:: and the heroine of the series is only 14, it’s one of those fun little books I’d probably hide under my bed if other grown-ups came to visit, but hey. I liked it, and if you’re into the whole vampire trend, I bet you’ll like it too.
Will I read it again: I’m definitely going to finish the series!

(I received a copy of this book for review purposes.)
Oh no!!!! We’re getting close to the end of this series….. )-:
As Chloe and the community are now trying to gather their strength from injuries, deal with the loss of some of their hunters, and pull it all back together after the vampire attack on them Chloe and Drew are more at odds with each other, the more they try to get along the more they seem to fight- tensions are running very high.
The New Year’s party doesn’t help take her mind off of things… her mind is more eager to come up with plans to vanquish the vampires, all of them including the main one behind all the attacks, her father Trevor!!!
Drastic changes are on the horizon for Chloe, what will she do???? How can she stop all the madness of the attacks against her and those she loves and cares about?? What is the connection and similarities that bug Chloe? That she sees in Gavin and Drew? Questions, yes I know!!! But they will remain unanswered by me, because you really need to grab onto this series of short stories… cliffhangers at the end of each one will have you definitely going right to the next one. (-:
Well done Jennifer once again, I say. As I carry on eagerly jumping into part 5 of this amazing storyline. “Living with Vampires” here I come. So I will catch ya’ll in the next installment, bye for now.
In this part Chloe is starting to settle in more. She is comfortable calling the community home and she is starting to feel like a part of the family. She has started dating the local popular boy Gavin from school and making Drew jealous in the process (now realising i haven't mentioned Drew in my previous reviews. He is another hunter that lives with Chloe and her grandfather).
However she can't escape the feeling that she is putting everyone in danger by being there. She knows that her Vampire father won't stop until he get's her and he doesn't care who get's hurt or killed in the process. She has to make the decision soon. Should she stay in the only place she has called home since her mum was murdered? Or should she give herself up to save the ones she loves and cares for.
Will she get the chance to make her own choice or does Trevor (Chloe's dad) have his own plans that will leave her with no choice?
I am really liking this story and i don't think i will stop reading until i have finished every one of them. I only wish i read it sooner. It was in my kindle to read pile for wayyyy too long.
