After reading Because of Mr. Terupt, my students convinced me to read the sequel. BEWARE! The material is not appropriate for read alouds in the classroom. Mr. Buyea continues this book with the sixth grade year of the same students from last year. While funny in parts, the subject matter is way too mature for my fourth graders. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this one to any fourth grader and was disappointed. The book may be more appropriate for middle school readers, especially girls.

I read this in 4th grade, when I didn't even know what periods and boobs and bras were. I was an innocent bean.

Now that I think about it, my biggest problem is that a man was writing about girls getting their periods and stuffing their bras, which is fine, I guess, but it makes me so uncomfortable. Maybe it's because I was raised in a very conservative household and this stuff is usually not talked about with men, but I can't possibly be the only one who felt incredibly awkward while reading this and knowing a man wrote it.

My other biggest annoyance was that Danielle started feeling better about herself when she lost weight. Girls, (and guys and others) losing weight shouldn't be the only thing that makes you happy. There are so many other aspects to life, so many opportunities you have and will get where your weight is the last thing that matters; it can go screw itself. And I'm not saying this from the perspective of a size 2. I know what it's like to be unhappy with your body but I also know that happiness is not when you lose weight, but loving your body as it is. If you want to work on your body, that's fine, and if you're fine being not perfect as per society's standards, that's fine too. Just love yourself. And remember that it's your body, so it's your choice. And your opinion is the only one that matters. Because it concerns your body.

I have no idea where that wisdom came from. But I hope you benefit from it.

Back to the point. A man wrote this. I'm not even surprised. Men. *rolls eyes*

In MR TERUPT FALLS AGAIN the teacher moves to sixth grade along with his class. The same seven kids from BECAUSE OF MR TERUPT have grown under his guidance and have become friends and supporters of each other.

I didn’t like part two of this three part series as much as the first because situations with the kids felt less genuine and more forced. Everything magically falls into place, which may be satisfactory for younger middle grade readers.

MR TERUPT FALLS AGAIN will appeal to readers of the first in the series who want to follow the class.

Çocukların her birinin karakteri enfes yansıtılıyor.

Herkese keyifli okumalar!

It was unbelievable that Mr. Terupt was able to help seven students so much throughout many hardships. The accident that was so skillfully planned, in the 1st book, wasn't even an accident at all. Each an every one of those seven students were guided and helped as Mr. Terupt was lying lifeless in his bed.

I was a little nervous reading the title of, "Mr. Terupt Falls Again." Obviously, I was thinking of yet another great deal of sorrow for all the kids. But.. throughout the book, I realized the ending was only going to be happy.

I loved how the perspective changed each chapter. Not one of the voices was boring. I flipped each and every page eager to find out what would happen next. Through all the twists, turns, ups, and downs, I LOVED these two books!

To be quite honest I almost quit after the first chapter (as it was I didn't make it much past Chapter 5). The first chapter was so crude and unnecessary and felt so off that I almost quit there. I decided to give it another chance but when I got to the part where Lexie was being offered cigarettes I quit. This book's different tone was obvious from page one. I REALLY enjoyed the first book but this one just disappointed. From other reviews I have read a few other people felt the same way. Too many mature subjects for the intended audience and not written with the connection to the characters that the last one was. Pretty much sums it up for me.

Wow, I never thought a book could have such a huge influence on me. Mr. Terrupt falls again was AMAZING!! At first I didn't think I was going to like it as much as Because of Mr. Terrupt but once I got going it turned out to be wonderful. Everyone needs to read this book. I cant even explain in words how terrific this book really was. Don't miss out on this inspiring book!!!

I enjoyed reading this sequel. I'll be honest, I geeked out with the reader's workshop reference but that's just the teacher in me.

I loved the first book. It really made me connect with the characters and feel like they were so real. This book is very...strange and a jump of maturity. One of my problems with it is that the first book could be read by an elementary schooler but this book is really meant for middle school. It feels like hundreds of pages that make an anti smoking and anti drug ad. There is nothing wrong with having those themes in a book, but this is half the book. Later in the book, there is Danielle going through her period, and why exactly is this in the sequel of a book whose main demographic is fourth graders? It feels really uncomfortable coming from a read aloud and not from a health class. But at least it isn’t taking up half the book like the anti smoking/drugs. I feel like these themes can be put in a kid’s book, but these themes are overemphasized and not really suited for the main demographic of the series. Another thing, it feels like these characters are completely out of character. For example, it feels like nobody learned anything from the last book. Jeffery doing wrestling makes no sense. He is kind, gentle, and quiet. It doesn’t make sense how Daniele decides to look into some family business, and that is just not her. The things discussed in the book definitely do not feel like it is in a middle school setting. I get how in the first book it is very unlikely that your teacher would go into a coma for months but it’s not impossible. The entire class went through that together, and set apart their differences to help each other. This isn’t true for this book. Everything feels random, and Everton has their own problems, making the books kinda boring and feels like the only reason this book was made is to make money from it. Really disappointing because the first book was amazing and a must read, but this one is too weird, inappropriate for the intended audience, and feels like half the book is filler. The first book is meant for fourth and fifth graders, and the subject material is not appropriate for them. To have context, there are multiple scenes of Alexia stuffing her bra with toilet paper, sneaking in vodka to school, drugs, two characters having periods, mildly suggestive themes at times, and even Anna’s mom revealing she was teen pregnant. I read this book in sixth grade for the first time, and I’m like “Why is this necessary?” I really think this book has too mature themes for the intended audience of the first book, which is my biggest problem with the book. I know people love this book, but the good moments really get canceled out by the bad ones. I will give it this, some of these mildly inappropriate moments are very funny. If any lovers of the books are reading this, I understand why you might like it, but honestly the themes in this book are too heavy for me to like. I am disappointed as the first book is one of the best books of the genre, but this book really isn’t as great as the first one. The book would had potential if the author would have had more time to finish the book, I would have loved it as much as the first. Sadly, stricter deadlines means not as much effort put into it. 2.5/10.

Do you like adventurous stories? This book is realistic fiction because, things in this book can happen in real life. My opinion of the book is, it is really good I would read it again if I could. I really liked how every time something bad would happen they would find Mr. Terupt just to make sure he was okay because they know the risks that could happen could ruin Mr. Terupts life. ***Spoiler Alert***
The setting is mainly in the school. The students got Mr. Terupt to teach them again because they were really special to him and he was really special to them. The principle Even noticed how much they all meant to him and he meant to them. The conflict is Person vs. self because they all have to deal with hard times in there lives.
The title relates to the book because, something bad happens to Mr. Terupt again and he isn't recovered this time. Mr. Terupt was in the hospital again. He didn't make it out of the hospital.
I was angry about how Mr. Terupt died, and didn't make it. That made me really upset. I got so into the book and then he gets hurt and doesn't come back. I thought he would have made it.
I would rate the book a 5 because it was really good and it made a lot of sense to me, even though I didn't like the ending overall it was a really good book. I would recommend this book to the people who have read the first one and not the second one and to people who love adventurous books and mysteries. You should read this book it is very adventurous and mysterious.

I didn't enjoy this book as much as "Because of Mr. Terupt." While the first book revolved around Mr. Terupt's accident, there were a bunch of unrelated events happening here. Lexie starts hanging out with teenagers who encourage her to wear makeup and smoke. Jeffrey finds an abandoned baby on the side of the road (!!! This could be a major plot point in many books, but not here). Danielle's grandparents are worried and mad because Native Americans are trying to "steal" their land. And so on.

So lots of wild events, not so much centered around Terupt. I wanted to learn more about him. We get a little about his past from a newspaper clipping, but that's it.

I wish this book had been more cohesive, and that all the subplots weren't so tidily resolved.

While I liked this sequel, it didn't hold the same charm for me as Because of Mr. Terupt. It was nice to have the loose ends tied up and to continue to follow the students from the previous book, but there was a little more content about maturation than I was comfortable with for an audience I assume is targeted at upper elementary students--it seemed more appropriate for junior high. Still, I always enjoy reading about a great teacher, and Mr. Terupt falls into that category. I particularly appreciated the way he tied life lessons into good literature in this story.

This book was truly amazing! I give it a five star because it was the last year with Mr. Terupt in elementary school. The kids are showing that they want to grow but afraid to leave Mr. Terupt. Mr. Terupt finally finds his true love! I would recommend for grades 4-6.

A fantastic sequel to Because of Mr. Terupt. I absolutely love how the story is told so well even with each chapter changing from character to character. Buyea does a fantastic job weaving the story in and out of the different perspectives, letting readers see all the important details but also giving them an opportunity to see which character they connect with more. Just like the first book, I was speechless, needing a few days to process and wipe tears away before writing this review. I hope to be a Mr. Terupt in someone's life.

Jeffery is loving. His brother died, and afterwards his family started to drift apart. When he found an abandoned baby he took him home, and the child was eventually adopted. This brought his family closer than ever.

After reading this book it might make you appreciate your teachers more by the side that you understand why they do what they do.If your like me and likes realistic fiction I recommend this book to you. It's funny book but, there is also some sad moments. You get points of view from each student.I noticed there was a lot of things that the students did that I do.

The students changed a lot through out the story. They became friends after they met Mr.Terupt. The title "Mr.Terupt Falls Again" relates to the story because Mr.Terupt cared and helped his students get through hard life problems they came through.I think the author build suspense when a bad event happened he added a little piece of each person's perspective and opinions.

In my opinion I think this was a great book. I gave a really good picture of what teachers are really for. The teacher helped and cared for the kids. Which made the kids appreciate him. He was more then a teacher for them. The students loved him so much that one of the student named Peter even thought of failing the year so he can stay with Mr.Terupt for a 3rd year.

On a scale of 1-5 I give the book a 5 because I loved how there was more then one characters opinion. I would recommend this book to a person that likes realistic fiction so they can make a connection with any of the characters. This book as I told you can make you appreciate your teachers more. Besides of just teaching you stuff they can also help you improve and not make any bad choices.

C'mon, C'mon..... So close!!!!!!

It's here! It was SOOOOOOOO awesome! I love Mr Terupt Falls Again!

If you go on Rob Buyea's website, you'll see the picture of him and his daughter where it says "...she has read my third book..." Since Mr Terupt Falls Again is Rob Buyea's second book, than there might be a Mr Terupt trilogy! I hope there is! That would be really cool!

For anyone who lives in Manchester, CT:
Rob Buyea is coming to the Nutmeg@Night this year! :D :D :D!!!

(Unrelated to the plot) The cracked spine from how many times I’ve re-read my favorite scenes. I love this series and this book. It’s a comfort book series of mine.
