This is the second novel by singer/songwriter Bill Morrissey who passed away in July 2011. In an interview Bill said of the book, "It's about a guy, roughly 39, who's taking his first solo trip across the country to meet the 19-year-old daughter he's never met."
Having no idea what this book was going to be about, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked Bruno, the main character, very much and thought the scene-switching convention used to tell the story worked well. It's so sad to think that Bill Morrissey is no longer around to write another book or sing another song.
Totally different from his first book 'Edson' - this book strikes deeper somehow - and not to mention older - as in wiser. I really liked it - Thanks for the company 'down the road' to Califronia Bill !
