Fan favorite Richard Moore (Boneyard, Far West, Fire and Brimstone) presents a ticklish take on the macabre with this new, all-ages story. Dark forces stalk the night, ancient menaces strike terror into the hearts of men everywhere...but not on a statue-selling farm in upstate New York. There, a 4-inch gargoyle named Chip is determined to prove to all the other statues there that he can be scary, too! With the aid of his fairy friend Ash, he sets out to find just the right setting to inspire him and bring out his true potential for wreaking terror...if he can work up the nerve to go there!
A very nice all-ages humorous tale about possibly the world's smallest, but in his own mind the scariest, gargoyle Chip. While his fellow gargoyles make fun of him, Chip does have friends. There is the fairy Ash and the cat Burble (who thinks Chip just needs to stropped on a regular basis). Chip manages to talk Ash into exploring a haunted house and going in search of the Jersey Devil, both ending with amusing results. A brief paperback, and it is a shame that this type of work doesn't pay as well for Moore as his more pornographic work (something he talked about as he decided to wind down his PG rated, and highly entertaining, Boneyard series).
