The saga continues as Haley Helms accepts the plight of her new found life with Andrew Alexander. Andrew is determined to ensure their wedded bliss, but Haley isn’t so sure they will ever walk down the aisle. Not only will her strength be tested when she meets the rest of Andrew’s nefarious family of Parevites, but her love for Andrew will, too.

As the life Haley once knew further unravels, she will be forced to make a decision between following her true destiny or becoming immortal and forever damning her soul. Mankind’s fate is still in the hands of the Parevites, but will the eight children unite in time or will ancient rivalries and past loves prevent their unification?

As I stepped forward, ignoring Andrew’s suggestion, a sudden stabbing pain pierced my stomach. “Ouch,” I said, wincing.

Bending over and holding my abdomen, there was another sharp pain, forcing me to my knees. Blood dripped from my nose, turning the snow around me pink. As I looked down, I noticed the inner stitching of my jeans was completely blood soaked.

“Haley!" Andrew shouted as he ran toward me.

A ring of fire encircled me. Andrew lunged in my direction. His body slammed against what seemed to be an invisible wall, throwing him backward.

“Andrew!” I screamed, crawling on my knees and extending my hand toward the fire. I quickly retracted it, feeling the flames sear my fingertips.

The air was thinning around me. I frantically clawed at my throat, gasping for air. Alec had been right, Alexandria was reclaiming her soul—our soul. Andrew’s love was never the reason for her return. Holding my chest, trying my hardest to inhale, my face hit the cold snow, blackening the world around me.

When I opened my eyes, I stood in a small, bare room, which was brightly lit. I blinked rapidly, eventually able to focus after my eyes adjusted to the light. Nothing around me looked familiar as I searched the room with only my eyes—afraid to move.

“Hello.” I called out in a soft whisper at first, unsure of what to expect.

I waited several seconds for a reply, but I could hear nothing, not one sound—everything was eerily quiet.

Cautiously walking across the room, I felt the warm, soft pillow-like floor. I leaned my hand against the wall beside me, quickly pulling it away. It wasn’t hard, which I had expected, but rather an opaque liquid that rippled when I touched it.

“Hello!” I shouted this time, panicking slightly as I noticed there were no doors or windows in the room.

“Haley.” An angelic voice spoke.

I quickly turned toward the voice.

This book was a roller coaster of emotions from beginning to end. So many twists and turns and the end, WOW, never saw that coming. I can't wait to see how Samantha Shakespeare shakes everything up in book3. Definitely a 5 star.

What a shocking, heartbreaking, sad ending! I am so sad I have to wait for another book to find out what happens now. Haley was always strong, and after the end she is now going to be one badA chick. I absolutely grew to love Alec more, and can't wait to read more about him in the next book. Andrew drove me nuts always being jealous, but I can't say more about him because I don't want to give anything away. I hope Samantha writes the next book quickly. This is more of an adult book or older teens.

Discord (Discern Saga #2) by Samantha Shakespeare Samantha Shakespeare
I loved the first book to peices! I started this one as soon as I could and let me tell you, it has been a rollercoaster for my emotions ever since XD. This book left me speechless(well i wouldn't say that I have a big oppinion about how things played out), unlike other books I couldn't easily guess what was next or how it would end. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because I am kind of mad at the main character(I know, Haley isn't real and my beef is with the author but I am still mad at her), I don't like love triangles and girls who can't make up their minds and I felt she should just choose already and stick to one guy. Thats just me though, I know a lot of people love that kind of drama but I can only deal with a weak second male lead who is really no match for the main male lead. In this book that isn't the case at all if anyone is like me(I get really emotionally invested in my books) then you'll be torn between the love intrests everytime you turn the page. Other than that though I thoroughly enjoyed each page of this book and definitely buying the rest of this series.

I like the darker aspects of this paranormal romance series. Up until the end, it was clear which of the two men loved her more, but the surprise at the end threw me. Without giving anything away, I was stunned by the depth of Andrew's love, and what he was willing to do to keep Haley by his side for eternity, but not completely surprised by it. But not all love is created equal, and by the end of this story, I was definitely torn between Andrew and Alec. Haley had to make some hard choices, and suffer through some pretty harsh losses, but she is stronger now, and in the next book, I can't wait to see how she deals with all the drama left in the wake of Andrew's decision. I will definitely read more from this author.

Wow, just wow! I really enjoyed this book, however, I think that events that happened right at the end should have been delved deeper. While I loved the twist, & admittedly, couldn't wait to get into the next book, I felt saddened that these ties that were so important became almost trivial at the end & barely mentioned. Anyways, I'm starting the next book and hoping it keeps me as hooked as the first two!

I was completly set on giving this book one star becausr of the ending but I couldn't do it. This book was amazing and made me so elated that finallu everything would work out... But no... It got worse. I've decided that it's good though because I suppose it kept me on my toes. Not predictable, that's for sure.

Wow...the ending of this book really reached out and grabbed ya...it certainly wasn't what I was expecting. And, while i generally like the not-what-i-expected endings...this one kind of left me scratching my head. I am thankful that I don't have to wait for the next book to be published to clear up the head scratching, what the hell just happened, feeling!!

I gave this book four stars because I was sad about what Andrew did. I don't like Alec at all. But I still cant wait for the next book. Overall it is an amazing series. If you are into supernatural romances with crazy twists then you have to read these books.

I really liked this book, but had trouble really enjoying it because I am so much more a fan of Alec. Andrew is so controlling/intense and it drives me crazy. The ending came out of nowhere and was definitely unexpected!!
