Despite the fact that Tori Adams wants nothing better than to relax with a good beer alone in the local cop hangout, she meets Logan Savage who turns her world around. After an evening of cat and mouse, they end up spending one of the hottest weekends together that she’s ever experienced. He’s everything she could ever want in a man—in bed and out.
Tori is a freelance undercover agent for the Paranormal Intelligence Agency. The PIA is a highly secretive government agency that does whatever it takes to accomplish its missions, including black ops. Tori has special “talents” that make her one of the most sought-after assets in the underground world of espionage.
What she didn’t expect was Logan to be her next undercover assignment. He’s the owner of Savage Industries, one of the most respected private tech firms in the U.S.… And according to the PIA, he’s also one of the bad guys. The PIA reports he’s close to selling elite technology that his company has developed to a foreign faction. If he’s successful, that would prove extremely dangerous to the U.S. government as well as all governments around the world.
Logan fell hard for Tori, but she’s not returning his calls. It’s as if she’s disappeared. He begins spending time again with his ex-girlfriend, Carla. He finds her somehow different than she’s ever been and he’s drawn to her in ways he hadn’t before, despite his feelings for Tori. He only knew Tori for one weekend—one incredible weekend—but he still finds it hard to forget her despite Carla.
But his paranormal talents are telling him something is wrong… And he intends to find out exactly what that is.
Tori feels like she’s being ripped apart. Thanks to her abilities, she’s able to take the identity of Logan’s ex-girlfriend, Carla. Tori can’t help falling for him even harder than before.
He’s the enemy she has to constantly remind herself.
It’s not long before her true identity is discovered. Logan feels betrayed but needs her to recover the technology that the PIA has stolen. Tori learns that things aren’t as they seem and soon she’s playing double agent and trying to recover what she’d been assigned to steal.
In a game of lies, betrayal, and high stakes, Tori and Logan are forced to work together and stop what is one of the most dangerous thefts ever to happen in the U.S. At the same time they must trust each other, and trust a love that rises from the ashes.

Chey and her equally geeky husband live with their two dogs, six ducks (the neighborhood celebrities), and a small flock of chickens in a small Arizona town where she enjoys gardening, crazy quilting and, of course, writing.
I don't normally read paranormal stories - or vampires and werewolves - let alone shape-shifters. I actually chose this book because I thought the young man on the cover was pretty hot stuff!!!
When I realised the plot was about paranormals, I very nearly didn't continue, but I am glad I did. I liked the protagonists, I liked the author's style and thought it came together very well.
I got a little confused when everybody was turning into everybody else, but when one reads outside a favourite genre you have to expect that.
An enjoyable book, which I didn't regret buying in the slightest. If I get bored any time I can always zap up the cover and sigh a lot!!!!
Dark Seduction (Altered States) by Cheyenne McCray Cheyenne McCray does good PNR. This is no exception. Tori meets and falls for Logan, fast. Then her boss informs her that Logan is a bad guy and she must go under cover and retrieve info on the top-secret project he is working on. This looks like the first in a series. I hope so.
While I was reading this story, I kept flip flopping on which paranormal ability I would choose if given the choice. In the running were - Invisibility and Teleportation. Imagine how much time you'd save by teleporting various places. Of course, there is the hazard of literally hitting a person or thing. OUCH! And invisibility, oh the pranks I would pull.
There were a few other "gifts" mentioned in the story and I'm sure they will intrigue you as they did me.
So folks, I highly suggest picking up this story and watch how the "powers" are utilized. As you can guess, things didn't go smoothly for the "gifted" ones.
This is paranormal erotica. That's all it really has to be. Instead, of focusing on a hot to trot shapeshifter there has to be police things and fight scenes. And Tori is one of the most incompetent agents I've ever read. When you are going to tie someone up and you don't want them to escape you knock them out. Instead that whole op read like a comedy of errors with the big bad Navy man coming to save the helpless damsel. If she's going to be the bad ass princess who saves herself then make her smart.
5***** This is avery exciting book. Tori works for the PIA. What she believes is the paranormal version of the CIA. Logan has invented a super lie detector type of machine that all the world's super powers would pay anything for. You have to pay attention to every word in this story or you would lose track of who or what everyone is. It's a sexy love story with industrial espionage as the back drop. Great fight scenes with all sorts of magical powers being used. This is listed as the first in a series. I'm definitely going to look for the rest. I loved it.
Premise for story was interesting as well as the conflict the main characters faced. The romance was believable and all in all not a bad start to the series, even if a bit rough pacing at times and a bit too drawn out in certain areas of storyline.
I loved this story. Tori is sassy but smart and Logan is alpha with a soft side. I loved that there was a suspense side of this story as well as the para elements.
Meh..... it started out with a hott bang & it had some different paranormal aspects to it. The charaters were likeabel enough but I wasn't enthralled. Not bad, just not GREAT
Meh. The writing is pretty choppy & repetitive. Quitting at Chapter 4 where so far we have a bar hookup and finally plot development but not interesting enough to make me want to continue.
