Cherrie Lynn has been a CPS caseworker and a juvenile probation officer, but now that she has come to her senses, she writes contemporary and paranormal romance on the steamy side. It's *much* more fun. She's also an unabashed rock music enthusiast, and loves letting her passion for romance and metal collide on the page.
When she's not writing, you can find her reading, listening to music or playing with her favorite gadget of the moment. She's also fond of hitting the road with her husband to catch their favorite bands live.
Cherrie lives in East Texas with said husband and their two kids, all of whom are the source of much merriment, mischief and mayhem. You can reach her at cherrie@cherrielynn.com, at the various social networking sites, or right here. She loves hearing from readers!
Note: This Christmas themed read is the prequel to the Ross Siblings series and is a free read from the author. It can be downloaded here: http://cherrielynn.com/wp-content/upl...
Barely Leashed is a very short, very quick introduction to Evan and Kelsey's story in Unleashed and takes place just weeks before they discover that their significant others are cheating on them - with each other.
There's not a lot to this little piece, but we get some background to the friendship between Evan, Kelsey, and her husband, Todd. This story made me sad for her all over again, because knowing what Kelsey was feeling, how much she wanted to make her marriage work - but couldn't know it was a lost cause - broke my heart.
This reads like a prologue and is definitely worth your time, especially if you're planning to read Unleashed and Rock Me, both of which I loved. Because it's a Christmas themed story, this is a great time to pick it up, but is worth reading anytime!
A very small novella (free and downloadable from author's website) that literally took a few minutes to read. It really doesn't give any information away but just indicates that Todd & Kelsey's marriage was in danger......despite that a nice little read but not really essential to the series but hey as it's free so why not?
Speedy prequel novella to the Ross Siblings series.
In it, Kelsey is suffering neglect and distance from her husband, Tod. At her best friend Evan's parents' Christmas party, things are pretty much revealed that she's not happy, but is still optimistic that things will work out.
Evan is planning his wedding to Courtney, but what neither he or Kelsey know, is that their husband and fiancé are betraying them. But this is hinted to be revealed in Unleashed, the first novel in the series.
Definitely a quick little prequel. But it convinced me to buy Unleashed. I like the characters, and the writing is solid. Will hopefully get to Unleashed soon :)
This was an informing short read that you can read before Unleashed.
Unleashed starts off with Toddy and Kelsey getting divorced and there are flashbacks to exactly why they got divorced but you don't see the distance between them.
In Barely Leashed..Kelsey and Todd are married and attending Evan's engagement party. You see how distant and unhappy Todd and Kelsey are in their marriage, you see how much Kelsey feels for Evan, you see how much Evan feels for Kelsey...you just get a bit more understanding of they way things are before you read book 1.
This was an introduction of sorts to Unleashed. Only 12 pages, super fast read, but I wish I had known about it before reading Unleashed, because reading it has made me want to read the book all over again. I don't think I should be too critical of a downloadable extra, but I was a little disappointed. I was hoping it was going to be about what happened 2 weeks after the night in this book. I know it was covered in Unleashed, in flashback form, or spoken memories, but I was looking forward to maybe some more details and experiencing it with the characters as it happened rather than through memories. Oh well, not a huge deal.
This is a little bit of a back story to Unleashed. Unleashed picks up right after the infidelity, so it is nice to see how there friendship was before all of that went down. I am glad she did not include it in the book. I enjoyed it, but I liked the way she separated it. Evan and Kelsey are sweet together. Before they were together you could tell they had so much love and respect for one another. This is the way a friends to lovers story is supposed to be written.
I was hoping that the part of her finding them in bed was included :( but currently 3/4 of the way done with Unleashed and loving Evan and Kelsey!
I just wished I paid attention that there was an order to these books. I started with Rock Me, then Leave Me Breathless then started on Unleashed; luckily it did not impact the stories that much to mix'em up.
I love Cherrie's writing style and would love to get another book out of these characters...maybe Starla needs her own story :)
ITS ONLY ABOUT 12 PAGES AND PROBABLY ISNT A NECESSARY READ FOR THE 1ST BOOK BUT IT WAS WORTH READING. IT WAS GOOD TO GET A LITTLE INCITE ON THE SITUATION AT HAND. ALSO MAKES THE BEGINNING OF THE 1ST BOOK A LITTLE SMOOTHER SINCE YOU KINDA GOT THE IDEA OF WHATS GOING ON WITH EVAN AND KELSEY.
Very short novella from the author that is free on her website. I think she has the right idea by making this free and not trying to make a buck off of what is really just advertising for the first full book in the series. It's got me reading the next book....
It's hard for me to give any short story unless it is just freaking amazing more than three stars, but this is QUITE a teaser for the Ross Siblings books. In twelve short pages, you meet Kelsey, Evan, Brian, Todd and Courtney. And oh is it a prequel to what is coming...
This is leading me directly into Unleashed, so when I am done reading that one, I will return to leave a "bit" [a "bite"] of a review for this tiny sample...
This short story was a prequel to Unleashed (Ross Brothers #1) and it gave us a little insight at Kelsey and Todd’s “unhappy” marriage. Kelsey and Todd attend a Christmas party at Evan Ross’s parents’ house but as soon as they arrive Todd leaves Kelsey to fend for herself amongst the crowd of his friends. While she is stuck within her own thoughts for most of the party thinking about the “what ifs” and wishing she would have tried go after Evan in college Todd is nowhere to be seen. After a while Evan comes over away from his fiancée Courtney and dances with Kelsey. They talk about different things and Evan as only a best friend can notices how unhappy Kelsey is and offers to talk to his other best friend Todd. Kelsey asks him not to do that, “because he knows how Todd gets” but it is then that Kelsey notices he husband fighting with Evan’s fiancée.
This was a great prequel to lead up to what looks like is going to be a great book for Kelsey and Evan and I can’t wait to dive right into Unleashed.
I am finally going to read Unleashed and figured I should read this short before hand. I actually think I should have waited and read it after. I have no real connection to the characters and it was too short to give me any. I love Cherrie Lynn and have devoured read everything she's written except for Unleashed. Evan just seems a little clean cut and average for my tastes but Cherrie Lynn hasn't lead me astray yet. So, I'm giving it a shot. Maybe after I've read Unleashed, this will hold more meaning for me. But right now, meh.
This is the Prequel to Unleashed where we get Evan and Kelsey's story.
Summary: Not much to this short story. We meet Kelsey and her hubby Todd on their way to a Christmas party at their best friend, Evan's, parent's house. We see that not everything is happy in Kelsey's marriage. Her hubby seems to ignore and neglect her most of the time. We get a little of the background on how these three know each other, and Kelsey's feelings for Evan. Other than that, we get a small glimpse at what is to come, but nothing definitive.
This was an informative short read. I loved Kelsey. She loved her hubby so much and was willing to do anything to make their marriage better, but he seemed to not care a whole lot. Really opened up for the full length story in Unleashed. Great opening into the characters in the Ross Sibling series. <3
Great prologue! Characters suck you in from the get go. But, that is what it is; a well written prologue. It belongs in the first few pages of Unleashed.
Read this if you are looking for an excerpt for Unleashed. Or if you absolutely need to start from the very beginning.
Super short but I love this Ross group so I'll grab any scraps Cherrie Lynn throws out there. I was thrilled to see on her site that the Brian-Candace story will continue around Thanksgiving time, that there will be more of Ghost and Macy at some point, and that Gabriella Ross's book will be coming later with more of Brian, Candace, Evan, and Kelsey. Keep it coming Cherrie! I just love these guys!!!
This very quick prequel sets up "Unleashed" perfectly for me. It's obvious that Kelsey's marriage is on the rocks from the get go and that she has the hots for her male best friend, but she doesn't understand why her marriage is on the rocks. Why her husband is the way he is with her.
I like how this quickie introduces the characters for me.
I didn't understand this book until I read the 1st book in the Ross series, Unleashed.
Even so, I'm not sure that this little ditty was even needed. It's an OK story, but IMO, it didn't add to the overall story for the 1st book. No new info.
This was a short that gives a view in to Kelsey and Even's lives right before their significant others run off together. It's mostly Kelsey having problems with her husband and wishing she'd never married him and taken a chance by going after Evan all those years ago. Good background for reading Unleashed but not something you'd read as a standalone.
A short story introducing Kelsey and Evan, best friends since college and both betrayed by their significant others when Evan's fiancé’s and Kelsey's husband decide to have an affair just months before Evan and Courtney's wedding. The story is enough to get the reader hooked into the Ross Siblings first love story. Can't wait to know how what happens to Evan and Kelsey after Hawaii…
A very short prequel to the first book in the Ross Siblings series. It's an extremely quick read, but helps build the characters and their history a bit before jumping into book 1, Unleashed.
Well,i wish there were more scenes included like when Kelsey found Todd and Courtney together and phoned Evan, what happened then and after that and what exactly were they doing before Unleashed.
This isn't really much of anything. Reads more like a prologue to the real book than anything else. And unless you're planning to read the actual book, Unleashed, this little ditty will only serve to annoy you.
This little tibit has so much insight to the world of Unleashed. Even with such a short little partial book, Evan was still yummy and there is definately sparks between Evan and Kelsey. What will happen next?
