Like the first set, this is a great learning and motivational aid for beginners. Also like the first one, it has 5 booklets with simple N5-level vocabulary and 1 that goes in depth on one topic with vocabulary you’ve never heard before! After the first set, I knew a bunch of words about soybean processing, and now I know a bunch of words about New Years traditions! 😆 Love this series; looking forward to moving up to level 1!
I think these stories were good to get my feet wet when it came to reading Japanese for the first time. While I didn't understand every word, it was okay, because I got the general context of what was being said. I appreciate the wide range of different types of stories. There was fiction, to folktale, to non-fiction, etc.
These stories were a good way to enforce what I already know, while also teaching me some new vocabulary. I can definitely see myself reading this again as I get better at comprehension.
I love this collection, it is so easy to read and the CD really helps. There is no translation so I need to do my homework but in general this is the basic level where you get everything in Hiragana for both Katakana and Kanji. I keep listening to the stories and try to read them loudly.
The collection is a bit more expensive than other learning books (around 146 AED) but it is worth it and I recommend it :)
