Full of creative suggestions
I’m a homeschooling mama to kids with special needs, and this book gave me some great ideas for shaking up and improving our math lessons. I love the author’s encouragement to think outside the box and to take time finding each student’s preferred learning method. I took notes on new manipulatives to try and many techniques to test. I’ve always agreed with applying academic lessons to real life scenarios and was pleased that this author expanded on the importance of doing so. Although it is written about teaching students who have given up on learning, I think that any educator could benefit from reading this book. Perhaps, they just might be able to instill a love of math in some students before they get to that point.

Basic teaching
This book encompasses basic teaching methodology and a few good games and tips. It doesn't come close to Denise Gaskins' books but it has a few things that a teacher who hasn't been taught to teach math to struggling learners could apply. As an educator, I found it to help very simplistic with nothing truly groundbreaking nor super effective. The organization of it seemed designed for a low level reader and not a teacher despite its tone being addressed to educators.

I saw this ebook available for less than $1 on Kindle and used some credits to pay for it. It looked like it might have useful ideas for helping some of my struggling math students. From my perspective, after teaching math for many years, it’s a very basic book. I think it could be helpful for a new teacher, but for me there were only many things I already do, a few good reminders, and nothing truly new.

so needed
Extremely helpful learning material in a much needed area. Talk about target marketing, students who have given up on learning is such a huge number nowadays. Mostly because the schools don’t focus on individual learning techniques. Instead, they are telling all the gifted children they are stupid. I wish I had this book when I was younger.

Quick yet informative
This was a great read to help reflect on your craft and to get new ideas to use in the classroom. As the author states, these strategies can be used with all students to help enhance their math experience and make meaningful connections. Math is for everyone, and this text will help provide ideas on how to make it relevant and accessible for all students

Stuck with teaching Math to differently-abled kids and/or normal kids troubled by “math anxiety?” This book presents tested solutions for solving this age-old teaching bottleneck.

I think this is helpful for teachers with really low performing students as well. There are things from this book that I plan to implement in my classroom and add to my teaching tool box.

Some good strategies shared in this book. Not a bad list, can consider more ideas. A little too detailed in places on concepts but overall a good book.

Very basic. I feel like it had absolutely nothing that I didn't learn in my teacher preparation program. Good info, just not revolutionary. Written like it is for someone that has no experience.
