Mark is a fun out going loving caring guy and the highlight of any party but his confidence was stripped away from him little by little by an ex called Tracy who he was with for 3 years. He put up with so much including mental abuse. In Marks life he always put his love into women that didn't deserve his love but along came Sarah a dream come true to Mark. After all the heartache he had experienced in life to find such a lady it felt like an angel had been sent down to him to give him the strength that he needed. At long last he found love that he had never experienced with any other woman before. He had never had so much fun and laugher in all his life and was proud to call Sarah his best friend, lover and partner. But Marks life could never be that simple. The continued battle to win the heart of the woman of his dreams became a nightmare. It wasn't long before he found himself stuck in a love triangle but his love was to strong to just pull away. Love is truly the greatest thing. Really it is, but it crosses the same lay line as hate. Sometimes this can be balanced out but if you can't find that balance well.... We live and learn and this is an amazing thing us humans can do.
I'm in my late 30's and was born in Salford, Manchester. I started writing just almost 3 years ago. In January 2012 self published Louie Has Landed 'The Early Days' and in February 2012 Louie Has Landed 'The Second Encounter' was born for others to enjoy the good times and the bad times which relationships can bring.
This series was a story told from the heart and I had no idea what I was getting into with the whole author business; all I knew that I had a story that was crying to come out of me, and it did!! I told my stories the way it was and who I was back then, I took the bull by the horns not worrying about critics and what other people would think of me. They where about me and the feelings I had at that time, but once I started writing I couldn't stop and my writing then became a passion and a gift that I never knew I had. I had authors praising me for my work and being able to hold a great story together that's very open and full of so much passion; they felt everything I wanted the reader to feel. It wasn't about grammar or what mistakes any critics would pick up on, it was my heart and being able to hold a great story together. This was a huge achievement of its own for me.
When I first started to write these stories, they were meant to be one full story, but unfortunately the heart just kept writing and by the time I had finished I had to make the story into two books because of the maximum word count that you was aloud to upload at the time. I had only gone over by 16.900 words, 'Oh dear' I then had to go back two the drawing board to make them into two great stories.
My main focus has been on the dialogue and keeping the story flowing at a much faster pace and getting everything as perfect as it should be. I have surprised myself with how far I have come and how much I have learnt and improved dramatically along the way.
How I became a writer is in my stories, and when the readers read that, they where impressed with the talent that was there. Yes the stories needed some TLC, but for me reliving it was hard enough to go back to, but I am delighted to say that I did take the bull by the horns again, and I now bring you the full story in one fantastic novel. Louie Has landed 'The Early Days' and Louie Has Landed 'The Second Encounter' has been reborn to bring you 'Passion' and anyone who reads it will see there is plenty of that in this fantastic story, but all in a good way of course.
The Four Whips, that are best known as Melissa Craig, Dionne Lister, Amber Norgarrd, and Charity Parkerson present Turkey Slap 2012. Turkey Slap: The act of playfully slapping someone with an erect or semi-erect penis. Entries were collected for erotic short stories containing a 'Turkey Slap'and the best of those stories were added to this free book for our reader's pleasure. Please enjoy and then check out each author's. My short story won a place in this ebook, this gives my readers a taste of my fiction mind other than my none fiction mind.
My next projects are well on the way, one is ficton and the other is again none fiction. Escape is a great thing and that's what I do when I write, I feel writing my experiences and how I've dealt with them, may open a lot of reader's eyes as it has been doing.
My writing has led me to cross paths with some great people and I've made many great friends who I've learned a lot from. I'm always open to new inspiration and I can take constructive criticism. I've tried to expel the negative influences that dragged me down over the years and to always try to stay positive.
I enjoy going to the gym weight training, this always helps me to take my mind of things and concentrate on my body other than my writing and work. It's amazing that people have connected to the realism and the truth behind my stories. My story is gritty, funny and real. I've tried to keep the dialogue as authentic and as truthful as possible.
I've learned so much from my journey and I hope to continu
Louie has landed indeed! If you are looking for something different from the norm, then I have found the book for you. Author Kevin Swarbrick, will regale you with this true-life story of his time with a girl named Sarah. This book is not written like any book that I have ever read before, and at first, I wasn’t entirely sure if I would be able to follow it, but right away I was sucked into this scandalous story and it would not let me go. I also thought that due to the cultural differences in slang words I would have to stop and think about what was being said, but that never happened. Instead, I found myself smiling at Mark’s happiness, and laughing at the couple’s good times. Without giving away any spoilers, one of my favorite parts was when Mark posted the post-it notes all over the house. I had no problem picturing the scenes in my head, as Mark and Sarah steal moments with each other, sometimes in the craziest places. However, things are not what they seem with Sarah, and it looks as if Mark will be heading for heart ache, but it looks as if we’ll have to wait on book 2 to find out.
From the opening pages, you know that Louie Has Landed is written from the heart. A personal story about love, those carefree, happy moments when passion rules and those not so blissful times when you discover that deceit's involved. Throughout LHL, author Kevin Swarbrick offers an honest, true-life depiction of his experience in matters of the heart. When he thinks he's met, "the one," only to realize and deal with the hurt of betrayal, you feel his pain. Written in such a way, LHL will make you think about all the reasons you fall head over heels for another person in the first place, even when that person is NOT right for you. Original, thought-provoking, and notable for its sexual romps and secrets revealed, you'll find Louie Has Landed as enjoyable a read as I did.
I must say this really is a story that does capture your heart and imagination. I feel the author has told the story exactly how it is, he has spoken from the heart, when I was reading this book I felt for every character that was in it. I could relate so much to this story it was unreal. I just kept turning the page and turning the page wanting to know what happened next. For a first time author this story is truly amazing. The dialogue is fantastic and I wanted to read more. My theory was right, one truly amazing story, with a twist you couldnt even dream of never mind make up, it will have you laughing and screaming at the book saying 'No dont do that' and so on! This author has opened up his heart and soul and also managed to capture the readers mind. What makes it so great is its all true, it got me thinking about my past realtionships and so on.... Remarkable. Mark will take you on a journey of relationships that have been bad and then he finds his dream come true, who is called Sarah? You get to live the good times and the bad but this story is unlike any other romance I have ever read. In parts of the book I was actually thinking I was that character. I dont want to say to much about this book, other than it is a must read and I highly recommend it.
I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because I found some of the monologue tedious. I did find the story, however, interesting, especially since it was a true story from the author's life. This is a story of love and deception. When you are emotionally involved you never see the handwriting on the wall. The author did a great job of describing his affection toward this woman Sarah who probably did also love him but was a chronic liar and so wrapped up in deception. She was quite a master at it. Even though Mark had feelings in his gut that she was telling lies, he forgave so much since he was head over heels in love with her. It had me curious to find out what happened that I am reading the sequel to it. This is a very promising author and I would welcome the opportunity to read more from him!
I downloaded this book to my kindle as I was curious to find out who or what Louie was. I enjoyed the book and at times I couldn't put it down. The poor grammar grated at times ('you're and 'your' being used interchangeably for example) but didn't detract from the story. I'm looking forward to reading the second book.
This is an autobiographical work and as such you can not criticize the story or characterization, as this is someone's life and it is up to them how they choose to live it. The only thing that I can therefore comment on is the way it has been written. Grammar Nazi's will no doubt have a field day with the plethora of mistakes and overuse of exclamation marks, but as many writers will tell you, no matter how diligent you are, you will always miss things. There is a lot of sex and bad language as well, but it is probably not detailed enough for fans of erotica.
This book is very natural, it would appear the writer has just written the words down as he would speak them in real life. One critic of my own work has called my dialogue stilted, perhaps the result of an academic background and therefore I may have something to learn from this writer. The story is also told with passion and heart. There is a warmth to this man, born out by the way he treats people, although the over emphasis on physical appearance is a little judgmental. I can understand him being proud of his physic, but it could be misinterpreted as bragging.
The language is simple and there is a lot of dialogue, with very little in the way of descriptive scene setting, or reference points. I also wonder how much discernment has been used in choosing what incidents to include in the book, as there is some repetition. The same thing, in a different location, does not add any further interest to the story, although to emphasize the feelings of paranoia, it is useful.
Writing an autobiography is always a very brave thing to do and personally it's not something I would attempt. It is also a testament to the story that people want to read it, after all this is not a celebrity biography. He is an ordinary human being, who has chosen to share the difficulties of his life with the general public.
I was looking for a good read and got extremely lucky when I found "Louie Has Landed - The Early Years". It's based on a true story and is a very addictive read! What I like most about the book are its' engaging characters, hilarious encounters and an emotional impact that will make your heart weep for the main character. I won't go into detail and you will thank me for it. This book is better enjoyed as a most delicious surprise. This is the first part of a two book series and the first installment made me hungry for more. I want to know how things will turn out for the main character, if it's possible to find true love in this day and age and most importantly, where will Louie land next?
Louie Has Landed is the authors own story and I must say he leads a scandalous life. I normally only read fiction and was s little bit concerned that the book wasn't for me, but the honesty and humor the author writes with caught me and wouldn't let me go.
Mark is recovering from a bad breakup when he meets the girl of his dreams. On the surface, everything is picture perfect, but below the surface, not all is right. Lies and jealousy mingled with love makes for an explosive story.
On to the next part of the story Louie Has Landed the Second Encounter.
Kevin Swarbrick has definitely written a book that will be talked about for years. It is an honest, heartrending, and heartwarming story of love in all its new glory through the days of betrayal. A story rich in an honest look at life, love, and relationships, Louie has Landed ‘The Early Days,’ based upon his life is at times provocative and at other times despair.
If you want to read a romance based upon a true story. One unadulterated and full of some laugh out loud moments interspersed with times you find yourself shouting ‘Louie, she’s lying ‘this is the book for you.
I was very curious about this book for it looked fun and interesting but to be honest, it didn't do it for me. I can truly understand why other people liked it, but I couldn't relate to the main character's point of view. That's basically the reason why I'm giving it such a low rating. Don't get me wrong, I didn't find it to be a bad book or anything like that, it just wasn't for me.
