Brooke Everett is an eighteen year old girl who recently survived a horrible car wreck in which she lost her father. Soon after the accident, Brooke and her boyfriend are mugged and once again, she survives and he does not. Now she suffers from debilitating migraines and strange auras and feels as though she is cursed somehow from surviving twice while her loved ones did not. She moves across the country to live with her mother and closer to her older brother. She throws herself into training to compete in wakeboarding to keep her mind off of her past. Slater moved to Truckee, CA with his police detective father and sought friendship in all the wrong places - until Brooke Everett arrives. The two become friends while Slater helps her train to compete in a wakeboarding competition in Lake Tahoe. Can Brooke allow herself to get close to someone else? Can she get a handle on the fact that she is begining to believe she is seeing images of the future during her aura's? Just when she thinks she's getting a handle on it all and growing closer to Slater, she has a disturbing vision of his future and tries to pull away from him in the hopes of sparing him from the curse she believes exsists to those who get too close to her.
I am currently a stay at home Mom with two young boys who keep me constantly on my toes! I grew up in Upstate, New York and moved around a bit with my Air Force husband. When he got out of the Air Force we settled just outside of Dallas, Texas and love the family atmosphere here. I am an adrenaline junkie who used to sky dive and I am always looking for a way to experience that thrill! I started writing when I was in the fifth grade but never finished anything that I was happy with until now. I am excited to hear what everyone thinks of Aura!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! It was a pure pleasure to read it! Fresh, unusual, with excellent descriptions of places that make you want to live in the cabin like Slater's or sit on the docks and enjoy the scenery. I liked all the positive characters, but doubtless my favourite was Slater - I think I have a new perfect book boyfriend! The romantic line of the book was beautiful, real, sweet and clean. I loved that there was no swearing or vulgarity. The plot held me in suspense till the very end and I was glad about the happy ending. I think that it would be great if there was a sequel with Wes and Lani's story as the central one, but it's up to the author to decide. I enjoyed the book immensely and highly recommend it - don't miss it, it's awesome!!! Excellent job, Mrs.Younker!!!
This is one of those books that proves don't judge a book by its cover. I wasn't sure I wanted to read it because of the cover. I'm so happy I gave it a chance. This an amazing story. Tracy Younker is a great story teller, and her descriptions make you feel as if your are there.
Didn't hold my attention.. I started reading it and them another book came a long and I started on that one and never went back to it.. It was an okay story but not enough to keep my attention apparently
