Ever since Delilah turned him into a vampire, Samson has been plotting revenge against his former lover.
When he finally catches up with her in modern-day New York, it seems he has all the time in the world to see that the last chapter of their sordid saga is finally written. Much like old enemies, however, old passions die hard, and Samson is forced to make a surprisingly hard choice - does he want her dead more than he wants her back?
Intelligent, disquieting, and deeply erotic, THE FIRST VAMPIRE cleverly weaves the past into the present in a captivating tapestry of suspense, intrigue, romance and betrayal.
"'The First A Novel of Samson and Delilah' tells the story of the two with a twist. For thousands of years, Samson has pursued Delilah for cursing him with the ability to pursue her for thousands of years - vampirism. Set in modern New York City, the story is an unusual conflict for Samson. Upon finding his mark after all these years, does lust or revenge win out? "The First Vampire" is a good, solid fantasy tale using the biblical characters, highly recommended. " -- Midwest Book Review

This book has some hard edges and treads on some very interesting themes of Christianity without attempting to make any judgment. Benson does a great job of keeping a light shining amidst the dark... "...This story really enforces why I like vampire books so much - you can make the creature into anything that you want. Retractable fangs? Sure. Saliva that heals the puncture marks of feeding? Awesome. Ms. Benson has done a really good job of crafting her vampires just slightly off center of what we have all come to expect them to be..." --Bitten by Books
I write paranormal fiction across the genres of erotic romance, fantasy, and mainstream vampire fiction.
In addition to writing fiction and reading, I enjoy painting, travel, restaurants, movies with monsters and/or explosions, and hanging out with my husband and my dog.
I really wanted this to be a good book. The concept was very interesting but I really didn't care for the actual story. And all I can say about the ending is wth that's it really...
I know its a vampire story and all but some parts of the story just didn't make any since.
