I think if I was stuck on an island and could only have one book, it would have to be Taming Riki. Okay so that's really 3 books...but I just can't say enough about this series. I love everything Kira writes but Taming Riki is my absolute favorite. I can't wait for the anime, I heard they are making an animation of Taming Riki, and also another version of Ai no Kusabi. Personally I can't wait for the Taming Riki anime....

Taming Riki is an amazing piece of fiction. Pretty sexually graphic, and it's yaoi (boy on boy) so it's not for kids. Also there is a good deal of discipline/BDSM. I love this, but it may not be suitable for everyone. If you enjoyed Ai no Kusabi this is a definite read. This is part 2 of the Taming Riki trilogy, and Part 3 is apparently once again back on the table to be published in 2009, which is exciting news for those of us who thought Kira Takenouchi was gone forever this time.

I'm pretty sure Kira doesn't pretend like this is a great literary work. But it's compelling--I couldn't put it down, and I've read it about a thousand times. Again, not for everyone but for the reader who enjoys explicit yaoi and an intricate plotline, this is the book for you.

Excellent yaoi narrative with beautiful illustrations. Riki persuades Iason to allow him a week's freedom in his old haunt, the slums of Ceres..
Lots of new characters in this part. Wish I could read on but Kira's website is down.
description
'"And... you care for me?" Iason pressed, longing to hear him say it again, and hoping secretly for the utterance of another word he'd waited a long time to hear: love. If Riki would only say he loved him, Iason felt as though he would want for nothing.'

The rather silly plot continues and of course I'm just reading for the sex. The world of Tanagura gets a little bit more fleshed out in this book, which is nice. I just keep waiting for the forbidden love relationship between the main characters (due to class struggles) to bring down the super computer (Jupiter) in charge of keeping the Blondies in power over the Mongrels...maybe in the next book.

I went to the website to do a little more reading of this online series and the pages are gone. I guess I won't get to find out what happens to Riki. Darn. I was liking the snarking little guy. It's been awhile since I read anything so I don't remember all the specifics but Riki did give me a laugh, even though the punishments were enough to make me skip through them.

I hope Riki will return.

Not as strong as Taming Riki Volume 1 part 1. In part 2 the story continues as Master Iason Mink attempts to tame his mongrel pet, Riki the Dark. The plot thickens, however the repetitive BDSM scenes become cliché after awhile.

The story continues

Kira Takenouchi has become one of my favorite authors. The story is racy, hot and unbelievably touching. She really brings the characters to life. Their passion, their struggles, their jealousy and their love.
