This is the first book that I have read by Terry Towers and it was an intense and sexy read, this will definitely not be my last book by this author.
Jade is working at the local twenty four hour coffee shop and has a major crush on one of the regulars a cop Alex she has renamed Officer Hottie, she has been flirting with him for weeks and the chemistry between them sizzles all the time. When he finally does ask her out on a date the night is explosive but Jade’s past is back to haunt her and she is still in danger will she survive the threat now facing her and can Alex show her what love should be?
Alex has had a crush on Jade since she started at the Coffee Shop but she is so much younger than he is that he is reluctant to make a move. Finally they share a date that blows his mind and he know he wants more than just a fling with the cute barista but when he learns of the danger she facing he knows that there is nothing that he won’t do to protect her.
There are parts of this story that make it a little unsafe but I enjoyed the writing my only complaint was not exactly the happy ending I was looking for but still worth a read.

Terry Towers, where the hell have you been all my life!?! Yowza, this chick can write her sex!
If I actually liked the man in this book, I wouldn't hesitate to give this one five stars. But... he did something that just wasn't cool, and then my impression of the girl went down for deciding that everything was okay.
However, it was soooooo hot! Plus, I did like the chemistry between these two. They could have been great characters, for sure.
I will not hesitate to read more from Ms. Towers. Nope... won't hesitate at all.

IT'S OKAY
Before I download a book I always read the reviews even if its a freebie.
I'm totally confused as the reviews especially those on Amazon's US give a totally different outline to this story. I was beginning to think I had read a different book. Because in the one I read Jade works in a coffee shop and has the hots for officer Alex Kane who is a regular customer. She flirts but he either doesn't pick up on it, or he's not interested. But that changes when her co-worker tells him that Jade is attracted to him. So he asks her out. But a threat from Jade's past returns to invade her life again.
The other reviews imply that Alex's ex-girlfriend is a crazy stalker and targets Jade. That definitely doesn't happen. In the version I read there is no crazy ex-girlfriend.
But whatever this is a really quick read with some fairly hot sex scenes. It was an okay read. I can only assume the author has completely rewritten the plot.

Nope, not for me ... I picked up the book to get a feel for the author's writing style since it was offered as a freebie on Amazon. No issues with the wtriting style but what did bother me was the Hero, for a cop, he wasn't very alpha and I actually thought at times he was a pu**y! The way he dealt with the drama, umm, no thanks, need a stronger man for my Hero... Not sure if I'm ready to jump into her other books just yet.

I DNF at 21%.
The premise sounded interesting enough but once I found out that the hero is in his mid-thirties and the heroine is 19, that's tough for me to swallow. I'm not a fan of May/Dec romances.

Jade ha estado coqueteando durante meses con el alguacil Kane pero él no parece interesado... O eso cree ella. Cuando su amiga y compañera de trabajo Jenny, hace de casamentera finalmente Jade consigue una cita con Alex. Pero de repente los problemas llaman a su puerta y será Alex quien tenga que protegerla.
La historia estaba muy bien, era cortita y sencilla pero Dios que asco de traducción. Pero asco asco grande de que me ha chafado las escenas sexys todas. PERO TODAS. Que me las he tenido que saltar porque con las palabritas que usaban me quitaban el morbo todo, así que prácticamente con lo corto que es el libro me he tenido que saltar un montón. En fin por lo demás la historia es genial y apenas hay un poco de drama. Y final feliz, eso siempre!

I really enjoyed reading this one. It was a quick read that kept me entertained while on a recent trip. The couple was very interesting and I absolutely had to read without stopping to see where they would end up on their journey. I will be checking into the rest of the series of coffee shop girls.

They finally have a chance to get to know one another outside of the coffee shop, and it seems like things are going well. However, Jade has a secret about her past that may affect their relationship. Once a piece of her past shows up, she'll need to put all of her trust in Alex.
Character development: Obviously as readers, we know Alex is a good guy and won't think ill of Jade once he discovers her secret. But these things that have broken down in the past so often have a tight hold on us, to the point that we can't see around them, and I think that's where Jade found herself. Lucky for her, she also found Alex, because he is there for her in every possible way. I really enjoyed this short story. I think it would have been a great longer novel as well.

Jade is the cute barista at a local coffee place with a dark past that she hides from the rest of the world. Officer Alex Kane, or Officer Hottie as Jade knows him, is a regular who comes into the coffee shop everyday. It soon becomes clear that they have mutual lustful feelings for one another, feelings that will only sizzle and intensify once a figure from Jade's past comes into the picture.

Overall, this book was okay. Officer Alex was no doubt sexy, but calling him Officer Hottie? It made the coffee shop girl come off as young, not innocent. The sex scenes were creative and definitely steamy, but sometimes ran a bit long to the point of awkward. I did like that Towers wrote in a plot other than just Alex and Jade, by having this mysterious, unnerving figure from Jade's teenage years come back into the picture.
This novella is a short, erotic read in which the goods and bads even out to make a completely neutral read, in my opinion. If you like police themed erotica or short reads, give this one a try. If sex bothers you, pass on this one. As of right now, this book is free on Amazon.

This was a short read, but filled with jaw dropping sex. Why can't we all find a guy like Alex. He was definatly a keeper. A man in uniform... who can resist. Jade seems to be a sweetie. Always
pleasant, happy, with smiles for everyone. It was just a really enjoyable read, with a happy ending.

I liked all of story except for the officer hottie's action when it came to Jade's harassment. As a cop he should know what the possibilities are when someone has a stalker and how that can escalate into a pretty bad situation! That turned me off because it seemed as though he only cared about protection his reputation and not the whole "protect and serve" mantra. Other than that, I would have really liked the story. I may try another one of the series though to see how that turns out.

So this is the second book that I have read by this author and quite frankly for me it wasn't as good as the first book I read for some strange reason I was not able to get into this book something felt off from the beginning and continued on throughout the story though the writer did an awesome job she just didn't catch it this reviewer's heart.

THE COP AND THE GIRL FROM THE COFFEE SHOP by Terry Towers: a short story that is steamy, but tells a good tale along with the steamy scenes. It is about a young woman named Jade who works in a coffee shop. The only thing that made going to work exciting, was the good-looking police officer who came to her drive-thru window each night. She nick-named him Officer Hottie, only not to his face. There was a lot of flirting with Officer Alex Kane and he would flirt with her, too. A month went by with Jade frustrated that he never asked her out. Her co-worker took matters into her own hands. She told him that Jade called him Officer Hottie. That was all it took and they went on their first date. Alex was convinced then, he was never letting her go. But there was a secret that Jade was keeping from him, that would turn out to be a terrible mistake.

Maybe a 1.5...rounding up since Im not well-read in this genre yet...so dont want to be too harsh. The writing was OK, but like the other reviews, the cop, Alex, couldve handled a certain situation better.
The sexy scenes were pretty short... maybe 2 sentences long (slight exaggeration). Not that you need an essay but the abrupt scenes made it less believable.
Chemistry between the two was good though and the writing itself wasn't bad!

Jade had flirted with officer for over a month. Finally he asked for a date after finding she actually was into him. On their date she saw the guy who had raped her at the age of fifteen! He’d been released from prison and was coming for her! A fantastic read!

I love this book.
Read it multiple times, and it is one I always come back to.
It is easy to read, the story line is full of sexual tension.
Personally I would have liked a bit more about the main characters and their backgrounds, but I still enjoyed it.

A great read!
I thoroughly enjoyed this short read. It was sweet and entertaining with a side of drama(no o/w). Loved the characters. They were warm and likable, and had great chemistry. A enjoyable story.

Loved it!
It was a short but sweet love story. The little twist in the plot gave it a nice edge. The steamy scenes were hot. The ending was beautiful.
