I even gave Beautiful Disaster 2 stars because I managed to read the entire thing. Even though – up until now – I thought it was the worst book ever and it made me want to stab my eyes out.
This is also the first book I’ve ever quit before the halfway point. I mean, I even made it to 75% of a book with a man who had a decorative dildo collection that he displayed in his office…at work.
And let me tell you why.
There is building UST (which I happen to be a big fan of). And then, there is almost 30% of a book where the author plays keep-away with the characters. And in that 30%, she never explains why she keeps them apart. She also never explains why the heroine is such a raging, self-centered cunt that never once in three years looks this man – the hero – in the eyes (even though he comes to her home every single day to make a delivery. (Yes, an actual delivery.)
She also never explains why the hero is such a fucking pussy-doormat that he seems almost more than happy and willing to just take it. He’s still smitten with her. He still longs for her.
I call bullshit.
Sorry, that is not my hero.
And it sure as fuck isn’t my heroine.
I can be a snob sometimes. I can also be self-centered and unaware. But not every single day. My UPS guy doesn’t even come to work every day. And you know what? His name is Phil. And I assure you he’s not godlike and gorgeous and in love with me.
I couldn’t relate to her at all, and if you could… Well, I’m sorry about that. You must not have many friends.
I should have saved the $7.00 and bought myself (and Phil) a cup of coffee.
Yep. That’s right people. If you haven’t already heard, I have officially updated my version of the English dictionary to equate the meaning of the word “Temptation” to “Nathan Cross”. And I tell you, I am not kidding!
Nathan Patrick Cross is a tinkerer whose one invention keeps him afloat enough to pursue his day job as a FedEx delivery guy while he tries to come up with a new innovative gadget whose design keeps eluding his best attempts. The one woman he meets along his delivery route, who manages to get under his collar and leaves him all hot and bothered doesn’t even realize he exists. Every single day that had taken him her way on delivery routes leaves him wanting her to look at him and see HIM just once and Nathan is about to become cross-eyed with wanting and frustration on how to go about winning himself the woman he desires.
Miranda Jayne Lyons is a woman on a mission. She wants to bury her past deeper than anyone can dig it up and throw it in her face and she does it with a ruthless efficiency that leaves her little time to mingle with other people, to socialize and put her face out there. Through the not so gentle nudging of her co-worker and friend Max, Miranda decides to step into a club even if its the last place she wants to involuntarily go to.
The man that catches Miranda’s eye turns out to be none other than Nathan and Miranda is more than surprised and a bit appalled to say the least when the man whose touch she craves just after one indecent dance turns out to be her FedEx delivery guy. There is no stopping Nathan from the path he weaves towards Miranda and for Miranda, Nathan poses the biggest risk on her heart and emotions as he slowly wields that magic of his around her and brings those walls of steel around her heart tumbling down until she is left reeling from it all.
But the secrets that Miranda hides are far too many, and her hesitancy in sharing them with the man who quickly turns out to mean everything to her breaks the fragile connection and the burgeoning feelings between them until this time it is Miranda who must face her fears and pursue Nathan to show him that with him she becomes the Miranda that she wants to be and loves.
Don’t be fooled into thinking that Taryn Elliot won’t woo you with Uncross Your Heart just because it is her debut novel. Far from that. I was pulled into the story from page one, heck, lets just say from the minute I met Taryn and learned that she is the critic partner of many other great authors out there, I knew instinctively that she would be someone to keep an eye out on. And I was proved right when Uncross Your Heart turned out to be a novel that delivered on every aspect of what I look for when I read a contemporary romance.
Nathan Cross. I can’t even say his name without going into an endless sighing session. He is the best thing about this story and believe me, there were so many good things about this whole novel. The way Taryn brought him to life, adding those little nuances to his character, his charming and easy-going manner, that bottomless gray eyes of his that I won’t mind staring into for a couple of centuries or so – needless to say Nathan charmed my socks off right from the very minute he entered into the story. His utter focus when it comes to Miranda and above all his patience – someone out there should give out Nobel Prizes for patience and I am sure he would come out a winner and with flying colors too! There is not a single thing I would change about the man, maybe except wish for him to turn up as my birthday present tonight at 00:00 hours sharp? Sigh! Well, a girl can always hope.
There were so many fascinating characters that brings life to the story as it unfolds. Miranda’s colleagues and Nathan’s whole family and believe me, if you read Uncross Your Heart, you would want to read all their stories. I am especially keeping my eye on Noah and his broody character – he seems like a guy who would give this old heart of mine a jolt or two if he ever were to get his own story. And yes, I am looking right at you Taryn. You can’t leave a gal hanging after creating so much havoc with my emotions and all.
Miranda is one complex character and she is the driving force behind the story, the secrets that she keeps close to her heart the cause of the rift between herself and the man who as she puts it is her worst nightmare and fondest wish all wrapped up in one. From the minute she is forced to open her eyes and look, and I mean really look at Nathan, she is a goner. And for someone like Miranda whose past makes her susceptible to all sorts of wild behavior, or so she thinks, needless to say Miranda would rather bury her head in the sand and forget that Nathan Cross exists.
But her desire for a man who kisses her senseless, a man who holds himself back because he wants just more than mindless fucking from a woman with whom he would like to base his future on is a temptation that is too hard for even Miranda to resist. The passion that burns between them is of the scorching variety and my God, can Taryn turn on the heat? I couldn’t get enough of the many a variety of scenes, all with that emotional pull that just makes you go all gooey on the insides and warm in places that one would rather not mention. And I loved it all!
What drew me in the most and held my attention was how real both Nathan and Miranda were as they tried to forge a path together towards their ultimate happily ever after. There is no easy road for someone like Miranda to take when she tries to flee from her past, to forget that she ever was that person she is so ashamed of rather than accepting that her past would always be a part of herself and the person she has shaped up to be. Through a lot of soul searching and a painful period of separation from Nathan she does eventually get there and I believe that Nathan and Miranda’s love for each other to be that much stronger because of the fact.
A FANTASTIC debut novel from an author who shows remarkable talent – I simply could not get enough!
Give Uncross Your Heart a shot if you love emotionally gripping and sensual contemporary romances. This is a book that definitely caters to every whim and then some. And if you are like me, you would not be disappointed!
I don't usually read romance as a genre, but I really loved this book. I liked the characterization and development of both the primary and secondary characters. I'd definitely read another book by her.
Full disclosure: Taryn's my CP and I got to read this book from its inception through the stages since. I fully intend to reread it again in its final form, but I've already read it several times as a work-in-progress and loved each step Taryn took to make it the book it is today. Nate is one of my favorite heroes - sweet, smart, resourceful and oh yeah, did I mention hot? He also comes equipped with several equally delicious brothers that we'll be meeting in subsequent books (which I can't wait for!) And Miranda is complicated, though she has a much better heart than she gives herself credit for. Give me layers to peel back with a character and I'm a happy reader. Miranda definitely has them. She comes a long way on her journey to true love and makes a lot of changes for the better. Uncross Your Heart is a true romantic's love story, complete with twisty characters and lots of delicious sex. Oh, did I mention the sex? Heck to the yeah!
This is a wonderful book with a lot more depth than you might guess at first glimpse. That it's Taryn's debut shows how far she's going to go in her career. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
I loved this book. Equal parts sexy and fun with enough drama to keep me coming back for more. In the end I want more Nate & Miranda. I really want to see her tell off the reporters, make up with Macy and put her no good family to shame, all with Nate by her side.

Review:
Well, let’s just say that I now know why Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott are critique partners. I don’t think it is possible to like one without liking the other. *nods* Luckily for me, my review of Ms. Quinn’s book, turned into an opportunity to review Ms. Elliott’s book. I can honestly say to the readers out there that if you find one of these authors enjoyable and have yet to read the other, you are pretty much guaranteed an enjoyable read. That said, let’s get on with the review.
Miranda is basically Paris Hilton … or she was. She lived dangerously and partied harder all for the attention she was missing out on from her less than ideal family life. But eventually she gets a wake up call and goes to ground as another person altogether. Having lived the crazy life, she turns her back on everything related to fun that could potentially tempt her wild side and dives deep into her work, creating a web design business on the verge of success. The only problem with ignoring life around you is that you do eventually miss out and Miranda has failed to notice her hawt FedEx delivery guy for the last three years. Oh yeah ~ I said THREE years!
Nate has been lusting after Miranda forEVAH and goes so far as to rearrange his delivery schedule so that he ends his day with her. So when she unexpectedly shows up at a club he is at and dances with him, he damn near looses his mind ~ so much so that she walks away from him without him being able to form a coherent sentence. And when her friends tip him off to her whereabouts a few days later, he pounces on the chance to see her again. But Miranda’s past has caused her to erect shields of protection in places even she doesn’t realize exist and it is up to Nathan to show her that having a life doesn’t mean that she will revert back to her darker days. Their attraction is instantaneous and Nathan’s ability to get to Miranda scares the crap out of her. As her craving for him grows, she does the only thing she knows how to do … retreat into herself and close off from Nate. But at some point being shut down and shut out can only be taken so many times and Nathan may be at the end of his limit after realizing that everything he thought they shared together may well have been based entirely on lies.
I think that the best way to describe this story is to say that it is the most uncomplicated, complex story I have ever read. Now that makes sense to me, but I am not sure that it will to all of you. Basically what I mean is that the story is easily understandable and the plot is relatively simple, but the characters are complex. Miranda more so than Nathan. The story could easily have been cut into a quick novella, but instead, Ms. Elliott thought out the characters and executed a terrific story. What I enjoyed the most is that Miranda and Nate switch roles from the traditional girl goes swoon over guy and guy struggles with forever. Nate knows what he wants and has to convince Miranda that they have hope for a future. Not to mention the HEA wasn’t spoon-fed. I always enjoy the characters having to work for their happiness a bit before attaining it.
I thought I saw that this story was the first in a series of four. But I haven’t been able to locate the site where it said such. I can only hope that it is true because the secondary characters can sure use stories of their own. Leo for one I am crazy curious about; especially after his little bomb drop about everyone having secrets. I know that Nathan’s brother, Noah, definitely needs his own story. And Macy seems to have a lot to say which could easily morph into her own story. It will be interesting to see if I am right. Until then, I highly recommend this story. The character interaction is fresh and witty, not just with the main characters, but with the secondary characters who enhance the story tremendously. And the electricity between Nate and Miranda practically crackles off of the pages. For an enjoyable read that you will not regret passing time with and characters that quickly draw you in, tossed liberally with exciting intimacy, UNCROSS YOUR HEART is a must read.
Uncross Your Heart is the debut novel by Taryn Elliott. Let me just say that she has come out with a BANG!!
I absolutely loved this book. The flow of the story was perfect. The characters were so easy to connect with. The plot line was unique and intriguing. It really just had everything that I look for in a great book.
Miranda has a dark past. She made some mistakes that she is not happy about, but knows you can’t change what’s been done. She has moved to a new city and has changed her appearance and even her name in an attempt to leave the past buried deep. She consumes herself with her business and a few friends and co-workers. She is not looking for any kind of relationship.
Nate has had an infatuation with Miranda for years. She is too focused on work to give him or any guy the time of day. After they share a sizzling sexy dance at a bar, Nate is not about to let her get away without putting up a fight.
I loved the bond that these two have with one another. He has a way to make her feel safe and loved. Nate is a character that you fall in love with from the very beginning of this book and end up being sad on the last page, because you just want more of him. Ms. Elliott did an amazing job in creating the cast for this book. Not only is it so easy to love him, but his family as well. I really hope we get to read some future books about his brothers. She dropped some facts about their lives that are very intriguing.
This is a book about overcoming your past mistakes. It’s a love story about trust and having faith in the one you give your heart to. It has passion, chemistry and an amazing conclusion. This book is packed with lots of steamy sexy scenes and a hot couple that is simply irresistible.
Taryn has an amazing talent for writing in a way that draws you in from the very beginning and holds you tight until the very last word. I am certainly going to follow her career and snag every book she writes. I can’t wait for more.
Welcome a new shining star to the world of Modern Romantica (and modern romance, as well)! And a hot couple of characters that will live in my memories like old friends.
I don't want to give away too much of the story (besides that I hate those reviews that are a synopsis in disguise... tell me why I wanna read it, don't give me an outline of the story!), but I have to say, Nate is sexy, brilliant and not your average houseplant (you'll understand when you read it). Miranda is gorgeous, even when she tries to hide it, intelligent, and determined. But she's also a confused and conflicted woman with A Past.
As the genre indicates, there's sex. Lots of hot HOT sex. But Ms Elliott's written a story that could easily survive without it (well, without the delicious descriptions, anyway). The love story of these two is stellar, and we are effortlessly taken into their heads and back out again as they try to find their way, both seperately and together.
Max the photographer (a secondary character) is a darling who gave me several laugh-out-loud moments (once, loud enough to startle my dogs) and I'd love to have a co-worker like him in my life. Might we (please!) see a bit more of him if there's a series to be had in this? Nate's family is funny and real; I adored the convos between him and his brothers. True brotherly sniping.
Oh, and I want to find someone who kisses like Nate. I could use some bone-melting.
It's hard to believe this is Taryn Elliott's first novel. It was a well-written story with great character development, depth and emotions that captured my attention from the beginning. I adored Nate Cross who was sexy, romantic and would do anything for Miranda Woods, the woman he lusted after and was falling in love with. He showed that it wasn't just sex he wanted from her, he wanted the whole package which included knowing more about her family and past. I loved his interaction with his family, especially his brothers. It took me a lot longer to warm up to Miranda, who was beautiful, intelligent but really uptight and needed to loosen up. She kinda drove me crazy and wasn't sure I wanted her to be with Nate. However, once she started showing her vulnerable side and I learned more about her wild past she was hiding from, I felt more sympathetic towards her and even began rooting for her to make things right with Nate so they could have a future together. This would not have been possible if not for the incredible writing of this author. She also created a memorable secondary character, Max, who I loved and had me smiling whenever he was in a scene. I hope we get to see more of him in future books and I'm really looking forward to reading stories about Nate's brothers.
5 stars because it made me smile, laugh, weep and sigh.
First, I've got to get this out of the way - I LOVE NATHAN! Taryn describes him as her `boyscout with a dirty side'. OMG! So true. Miranda was drawn to him because of his forearms...I so get that, I'm a forearms gal myself (if there weren't any other body part obviously showing i.e. the `V'). One of the most endearing characters I've read so far - smart (hello, patented inventor), ripped (hello, broad shoulders), loves the simple things in life (walks on the beach), loves dogs (brings treats!) - wrapped up in yummilicious goodness.
Gosh, it'll be a while before I can get him out of my head.
Miranda was a PITA (pain-in-the-ass, also as described by Taryn) in the beginning. I totally felt that Nathan was too, too good for her. But she redeemed herself.
I felt that the story was well-paced, the dialogue real and hilarious and the tender moments were really tender and got me weepy. Which was a surprise cos it came out of the corner and rammed at me.
At the end, I left the book with a contented sigh and a had feelgood feelings coursing through me. Love a book that does that.
Nate is the perfect MMC -- gorgeous and charming and funny and human. I love the insecurity of Mr. Ficus, the way Miranda has been under his skin for years yet he does nothing about it.
Miranda and MJ -- what can you say about two sides of the same coin? I love the idea of the bad girl trying to be good, but still being a little bad and beating herself over it. And keeping it from Nate. Bad Miranda.
Taryn makes you want to smack Miranda more than once, and leaves you sighing with every encounter with Nate. When she goes to the extreme to get him back you cheer inside because you know they deserve each other and are so RIGHT for one another.
The supporting cast in Macy, Nate's brothers, and especially Max (I want a 'Max' of my own please) balance the characters perfectly. And did I mention, Taryn's smoking hot love scenes? Mercy!
Definitely a great read, and I can't wait for the rest of the Cross stories.
Sizzling sexual tension, a worthy male lead, and maybe some bias (the author is in my writing group) make this a worthy read, and have me rethinking my statement that I don't like romance novels.
Sometimes, it's nice to be wrong.
My ratings scale is also on my blog, which I'm linking to only because I know I'll get the side-eye from all the five-stars up already. Something has to be damn near perfect to get five stars. Even my favorite author didn't get five stars on her debut.

I really enjoyed the book and Miranda and Nate's relationship. Nate's character was more relate-able to me as a reader but that does not mean I did not connect with Miranda. I am not not familiar with her background so I could only sympathies with her and not empathize like I could with Nate. The story development was great even if I did not get an epilogue I so love.
Impossible to tell this was a debut! Taryn does a fantastic job of developing these characters, making you root for them and believing--and *wanting* the way their relationship grows. Nate is just... yummy! He's truly got it all! Uncross Your Heart is a keeper and I can't wait to see more from Taryn!!
Nate was moments away from giving up when the woman who occupied his thoughts for the last three years finally took notice. Besides her physical appeal, her hidden depths and mysterious lifestyle fascinated him. After so much observation, Nate wanted to get to know her better, but she kept herself tightly closed off to anything profoundly personal. Sparks ignite and rage out of control physically, but breaking down the barriers surrounding her heart is another matter entirely. He resolves his determination to get to know the real Miranda, but what he ultimately discovers crushes him. Now he wonders if any of it was ever real.
Growing up an heiress and socialite and then hitting rock bottom, Miranda managed to get away from the ugly side of fame and temptation, by making a new name for herself and starting her own business. Keeping a low profile so no one would figure out her ruse was easy, but keeping the old “MJ” from rearing her ugly head when Nate finally made his move, is a different story. She doesn’t know if she can give him the “more” he’s looking for and when her skeletons start coming out of the closet, he may not want her anyway. But is her past worth more than a future with Nate?
Uncross Your Heart is an emotional roller-coaster of a story with a unique situation that threatens the developing relationship. I appreciated how Nate took a leading role in the story and was upfront with his feelings and patiently fights to establish a deeper connection with Miranda. Disappointingly, Miranda dodges him at every turn with weak excuses. At times she's not a very likable character, but she has several redeeming qualities like her inner geek, business savvy independence, fashion choices, and even her dog Stella. While many readers may not be able to relate to Miranda and Nate's predicament personally, their story is still unique and clever. It's also extremely steamy and very enjoyable.
Complex and dynamic characters with great scene imagery and drama makes for a fantastic debut by this author that contemporary romance readers should check out!
Taryn Elliott gives it all in her debut. Oh my, and how she does it!
Has there ever been a guy you never pay attention to? You never give him the time of day, even a second to look at, not even a thought, yet he's into you? Yes? This is the case with Nate (swoon) and Miranda.
Nathan Cross is the kind of hero I hadn't read in a very long time. How I missed it? Beats me. Let me just say he IS the real thing.
Nate is the all-American boy next door (in my view). He's funny, caring, loving, smart, looks to die for, an excellent lover (oh yes! I can't forget about that now, can I?), you name it, he's got it.
Then there is Miranda, who's sorta opposite to Nate, but only because she hides something. Her secret tries Nate's patience, and oh my goodness, I can't even say how patient he is. But that is what makes this a wonderful story. Nate's attitude towards Miranda makes their relationship come alive.
Nate wants all or nothing. Miranda wants it all too, but has a hard time giving in and giving it all. Heck, she made think: "if you don't want him, I'll take him!"
I love every single character in this book, they all add meaning to the story in their own way. To name a few: there is Tony, Nate's friend, he is hilarious and so in love with his wife. Then, there's Max, that guy cracks me up. He is so unique in his interactions, and so real I can picture him. Max is my second favorite, after Nate.
Then there's Nate's family, they're too special (think Irish/Italian and you'll know why I say that). They're what a family should be in my view, and that makes them so real in this story.
Now I can't forget about Leo, the ever so confident man with piercing blue eyes, who doesn't chase after the first time. Rumor has it, he's going DOWN in Taryn's upcoming work. I can't wait for that!

Taryn Elliott is a new author to me but she certainly has proved herself in this truly emotional and inspiring book. The story tells us of Miranda the once rich heiress and fancy free socialite who ultimately had to get away from it all and start her life over while making sure to keep her secret safe (and boy oh boy what a secret it is) then we also meet the handsome and very tempting Nate who is sure to make Miranda’s life a real dream in more ways than just one (and definitely fire up any readers blood).
But Nate has almost given up on having Miranda in his life and in his bed when she suddenly she breaks down and lets go. Nate can and does break down the barriers Miranda has put up only to discover the secret she has worked so hard to hide could destroy their new found relationship. But how Nate handles the truth is what really made the book interesting for me.
And the two lovers coming together in really funny and very romantic way was adorable which is something I do not always see in a erotica book. The story had a great plot and the author made sure to include enough humor that made the book so much more than just about two people going at it. The book is more than just a erotica it to me; it was more of a soft and fun contemporary romance combined with a high heat level. Again I do not always find this in erotica books.
I do not want to give too much away but I will say that this secret is one you will not see coming and you will be very, very surprised. I expect more great titles from Taryn Elliott.
Favorite Quote:Sometimes starting over means facing your greatest fears ~~~~ this is the opening line in the book and it at the end of the book really showed the true meaning.
This is a great read from Taryn Elliott. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, romance in general is a new genre for me. But this was such a good read from beginning to end, I didn't put it down until I was finished. The book is all about Nate and Miranda, their passion for each other - once she actually sees him. It all starts with a dance. A hot, sweaty, sexy as hell dance that leaves them both breathless. Miranda is sure that'll be the end, but that's what good friends are for right?? Nate and Miranda find that they have excellent sexual chemisty, and a passion for each other that's unlike anything. But there's just one problem - Miranda won't tell Nate about her past. Nothing. She shuts him out, and that comes back to bite them both when she least expects it. I absolutely loved the end of this book. It's fantastic! I can't wait to read more from Taryn Elliott. I was provided a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
4.5 Stars I’ve read Taryn Elliott’s Lost in Oblivion rockstar romance series co-written with author Cari Quinn, but this is my first single title by Taryn. I’m blown away that it was her debut novel. It was totally awesome and had everything you hope for in a romance: a complex but relatable heroine and hero, well-developed secondary characters, a compelling storyline that flows perfectly…and chemistry. Lots of explosive chemistry. Miranda and Nate were smokin’ hot!
Taryn certainly mastered early putting you inside the heads & hearts of her characters, making you feel their emotions, their struggles, right along with them. I was completely invested in Miranda’s internal battle with the girl she used to be and the better woman she grew to be.
I hope this isn’t the last we’ll see of this unique group, especially some of the secondary characters. Several were so captivating they deserve their own stories.
Very good! I loved Miranda even if she was a little bit too much afraid, but I can immagine that being stalked by paparazzi and having a familiy as her was, could be very bad. Nathan was such a dear - I loved him!!!
Uncross Your Heart is steamy and well written and the hero, Nate, is to die for! He's the FedEx delivery guy who's been dying to get to know Miranda for years, but she's never really seen him. The poor guy refers to himself as a ficus because that's as much as she notices him, even though he delivers packages to her multiple times per week, for years. It isn't until one night at a club, where they dance together, that she finally notices him. But, things don't go smoothly because Miranda has serious walls around her heart, and it's nearly impossible for Nate to break through them. She is seriously messed up and she continuously hurts Nate, not purposely, but her damaged soul just can't allow herself to be free with him, even though he's the sweetest, kindest guy she could ever have picked. She uses sex, really, really good, steamy sex, as a way of allowing herself to connect with him, but she doesn't actually open herself up to him, and it hurts Nate, especially when he finds out her big secret and that she had been lying to him for their entire relationship. But, thank God she got her head out of her ass and apologized, in a really sweet way, and went back and got her man, because Nate certainly wasn't going to chase her again after having been the chaser their whole relationship, and having gotten himself so burned for his efforts.
Nate is the most patient man! Everyone has secrets but Miranda's are game changing - if she lets them.
Miranda thaws enough to enjoy going out with Nate. Then the paparazzi shows up and throws them into a spin. Can they figure it out or are they doomed to moon over what's lost?
So need to know if there will be more. I'd love to hear Leo's story, nevermind learning more about the rest of the Cross brothers!
Miranda Woods owns Miracle Designs and tries to live in a quiet life and doesn't go out and socialize much at all. When she is dragged out one night by her employee Max, she ends up dancing with a dream man. Yet Miranda has many secrets that she holds tight about her past and is she willing to let someone get close to her when she may lose them when they learn the truth.
Nate Cross is the Fed-Ex delivery man who has being delivering packages to Miranda for the past 3 years. When he sees her at a club he jumps at the chance to dance with her, even when he realizes that she doesn't recognize him.
Yet Nate isn't about to let Miranda go so easily. Will Nate be able to break down Miranda's walls enough that she lets him in? When Nate learns the truth will he stick by her side or will he feel deceived?
I thought this story was great! I loved the secrets about Miranda and knew that something juicy was going to come out but never knew the full extent of her past.
I knew Miranda had to be hiding something as she turned into such a recluse that let very few into her life and was so guarded. Nobody knew anything really about her and she never shared anything as she thought everyone would leave her. I felt bad that she was so ashamed of her past and really couldn't get over it. I hated that she kept pushing Nate away whenever he asked anything that she didn't like.
I absolutely loved Nate and thought he was such a dream. I think his character ended up so much more than you thought he would as you learned more and more about him. I wish I could find my own Nate! Nate was so patient with Miranda yet he was frustrated as well with her as he wanted to be there for her but couldn't when she never let him in.
I was so happy with Miranda's staff as they were so supportive of her and never pried. They were there for her and when everything came out they supported her.
I loved at the end how Miranda got Nate's attention! I loved how she used his work against him!
