Mighty Mary: The Story of Mary Slessor

Rate this book
This is the story of a Scottish girl, Mary Slessor, which took place in the late 1800's in West Africa. Mary wanted to be like the famous explorer and missionary, Dr. David Livingstone. Among other hardships, she settled tribal wars by sheer daring, and single-handedly defied tribal customs of killing twin babies and slaughtering women and children. Mary was sometimes misunderstood, sometimes hated and ignored--but in the end, she was "Ma," the loved.

This book is a wonderful story, it is about Mary Slessor who longed to go as a missionary and finally was able to.

They always ask how many times you have read a book. Some of these books in my library have fallen apart due to the fact they have been read so much. Our books have not been abused. Just used. You could say they have been read to pieces. This is now a loose-leaf book.
