One of the books I bought to help me "Make it in Hollywood". I been here long enough to know that a fucking book won't make you anything out here. And this book was no different.
Some tips that could be possibly helpful to a new kid outta highschool maybe. But there wasn't much for me. Some tips on living constantly unemployed I guess are helpful. As I have been that for a long hungry time :)
It also talks about agents, managers, networking and the business of film and acting. Other than that its just a self help book trying to help you realize your strengths and weaknesses and such things as that.
You wanna make it in Hollywood, come to Hollywood. Not Barnes and Noble. Yes.. I bought it there.
Great at telling the reader what Hollywood is like, not so good at telling the reader how to actually make it in Hollywood. In my humble opinion, there are better books out there. You’ll be fine if you skip this book.
This was another good 'How to' in Hollywood... it would have got a 5, but it is very outdated (from the 90s), but a lot of the advice still holds up. Will definitely reread when I get back.
