What makes a novel? Is this a novel? Yes, it is. Sadly, the book had too many themes (Present, Past, Future. Unrequited love. Longing for something, being oblivious of the things right in front of us) and genres (short prose, drama dialogue, diary, epistal) to have a common thread, except for the main characters. The story becomes too abstrac and with a part, that doesn't fit in. I like the experimentation, but it doesn't cross the finish line. Also, knowing that the book was partial and that the author had continued the story on her blog - which no longer exists - makes the book somewhat incomplete. Hence the low rating.
This year there are 24 water lilies which answers to the 24 ribs in the body.
Personally I prefer some of Nordenhofs other poems from her new book more, especially since I don't know if I was that into this format but I did love it. Mostly the parts about Emily and Rosa, I found the middle part about Rosas dad mostly uninteresting. Love Nordenhof though, I totally get how/why she has gotten the status as one of the front runners of modern Danish poetry.
