The epic story continues in Book 2 of Shane W Smith's critically acclaimed graphic novel series, The Lesser Evil.

A world in ruins...

With the aid of philanthropist pirate Angus Baxmerian, Ross has managed to blast his way free from the war on his home world. Having had a brutal taste of the adventure he has always craved, he is beginning to reassess his goals for his life. However, with his family still in danger, he has no time to think about that, and no choice but to return home.

Sucked once again into the turmoil on Messar, Ross will come into contact with both Elam Padakan and Stanley Myres, and discover that there's a lot more to this war than first meets the eye...

The Lesser Evil is a book that examines what it means to have a dream... and what that dream can end up costing, regardless of whether it comes true.

I won this book through Goodreads First Reads.

I have to admit this was something very different for me, not only was it my first graphic novel, I'm not the biggest Sci-Fi fan when it comes to books.

I found the pictures quite dark and it was hard to distinguish who was in what scene at times. The story moved quickly between character and because the pictures were dark it often took a bit of time to figure out who was talking.

I found the story line easy to follow and its a good idea but the wording was not the strongest, a little juvenile. This could be the way graphic novels are written but not something I enjoyed.
