Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound. She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.

THOUGHTS
Bravo, to the author, on what I though was a stellar performance with this story, It was my taste and how I like my reads sometimes. I went into reading this story not knowing what to expect, and I finished feeling hyped for the next book in the series. I thought `The Valentines: Robert' is the start of a good foundation to a series. I appreciate and enjoyed the scenery, the action, along with the physical characteristics of vampires and werewolves that were created. Although this is a novella, the author still manages to incorporate a lot of information that explained everything so well. With talks of the council, humans, vampires, werewolves and mystical beings, this story does not disappoint.
I felt like we were almost given two stories, Robert and Sophie, along with William and Katie. William and Katie are both Robert and Sophie's brother and best friend. Although it felt like two stories, William and Katie's storyline within the book never overshadowed Robert and Sophie. Both of the main characters were intriguing the moment they met, bonded, reconnected and stayed together. Robert was definitely Alpha, he gave me shivers most of the time throughout the story and it doesn't hurt that his family is apart of the strongest and most powerful vampires in the world. Sophie was inexperience but did what she had to do with Robert to accomplish her goal. Of course, their physical chemistry was an added bonus.
Katie was the key with everything that is brewing between the vampires and werewolves and I can't wait to read both William and Katie's story. We were briefly introduced to the rest of the Valentines family and I eagerly await their stories.
Sophie Ford is force to go to the vampire council for protection for her family and friend, Kate. She blood bonds with Robert for the protection of those she loves but she disappears without completing the entire bonding ritual which includes having sex. Robert Valentine has waited three years for his mate to come to him although he has maintained his end of the bargain by giving them the protection she, Kate and her family need. Robert knows Sophie is hiding a secret that could cost them all.
THOUGHTS
This book has many of the elements of a good paranormal read! Throw in some vampires, witches and werewolves and no telling what might happen. Robert Valentine is the eldest of the powerful family, the Valentines. He is your typical strong, sexy alpha that quickly finds himself in a position of lover, protector and leader. Sophie has been keeping a secret about her friend Kate that could wager a war. Sophie is tough yet so innocent and is truly a likeable character. Kate is in constant fear of those watching her for what she is. William Valentine (Robert's younger brother) is assigned to protect Kate and a relationship develops between the two. Both characters have real energy and this budding relationship will make a good story for the next book.

I'm in two minds about this story/series. On one side I'm hooked enough to wonder about William and Katie, so I want to read the next book but on the other side I'm frustrated and kind of annoyed with the story and it's mix mash of puns in inappropriate places and it's slip ups with things like...on one page Robert takes a drink of his vodka and on the very next page he's drinking his aged Brandy, without having poured a different drink. I don't really feel that I know the main characters at all or even care about them that much. I feel like I'm missing something and I'm waiting to get it still.
I kind of hoped for more. I don't have the second installment but this seemed too novella'ish' for me. I wanted something more grasping, that captured your attention and kept it there. I found parts of this novel went way too fast, some pieces were left out and it was just put together really quickly.
3.8 **WARNING** This is an incomplete series has been for 6 yrs so make sure your ok with not knowing how it ends. I have to say I loved this book, though I would have liked to see more time between Robert and Sophie. Even though 3 years had passed it was with them apart so so real couple time. I read this a few years ago and waited from the series to be completed but it never was. I am hoping the Authur decides to complete it at some point. I wish I had known it was an incomplete series before starting it.

With a war brewing between the vamps and were's, can Robert fight the need he has for one little human and a secret he will have to bring to light!
I love paranormal. The world Sam Cresent created is one that drags you into the story. The war is brewing and comes to the vampires doorstep and leaves death in its wake. A book with action, love, some really good sex, blood and a start of a series that I can not wait to read. AWESOME book, and looking forward to the series. ADULTS ONLY juliesbookreview.blogspot.com
I loved this book. In this book, a vampire once bonded to a mate protects everyone their mate loves from harm. The heroine Sophie who is human goes to the vampires to bond with Robert Valentine. She is doing it to protect her friend who is a witch. The hero and heroine do the first part of the bond and then she leaves him and does not come to him again for help until 3 year later. I loved how the hero did not force her to come back to him. He waited until she came on her own. They eventually get an HEA. The book ends on a sort of cliffhanger involving her friend.
Sophie acts like she knows what she's doing when her parents give her to Robert for a blood bond. Little does she know that she doesn't really know what she's doing.
Robert has feeling for Sophie when he first sees her. After they are bonded he waits for her to come to him when she is ready.
I really loved this book and I can't wait to read the next book in the series. He has vampires and I am so in love with vampires.
Virgin human woman is in trouble. Her parents basically arrange to sell her to the vampires for a huge amount of money. She is courageous. She is beautiful. She has plans of her own. I loved her. She has a backbone. I also loved Robert. The experienced old vampire. He is charmed by her. He falls for her. The story was good too.
I enjoyed this book. It was a bit short, but made me think of Kristen Ashley's Until the sun falls from the sky. It was not as intense, but enjoyable all the same. I enjoy books by Sam Crescent.
