Hardcore mercenary Richard Camellion is forced into an expedition into the mountains, where a temple housing ancient aliens and a secret weapon are held. Seems like a piece of cake for the "Death Merchant", but the mountains weave through the dangerous path of a blood cult, and the Russians are always one step behind...
This was my first Death Merchant book, and it wasn't quite the new-age action pulp thing that I expected. The book is instead filled with long winded explanations, long winded trains of thought, long winded action scenes, and long winded descriptions. The pattern began to become boring about halfway through the book. The Death Merchant is quite the character though, a Texas commie-hater, but is also open to theories of ancient aliens and is very familiar with the Pleiades star cluster.
I'm having trouble having much more to say about this book, it's kinda boring, but the eccentricities of the author, and of his character Camellion come through every once in a while. Not recommended.
Another men's adventure series from the 80's. This one has just as much violence as the rest but less sex. Also this one is somewhat different as it has much more SiFi and supernatural story lines than others. Think of a bloody X-files in a way. Recommended
