Richard Collier, was born in London, England in 1924. He joined the Royal Air Force at eighteen after that, as a war correspondent, he traveled throughout the Far East.
He worked on numerous British and American magazines and wrote more than half a dozen books about the Second World War.
An absolutely fantastic book. It gives a beautiful description of an era, a life, a family. It's full of joy and sorrow, and wonderfully vivid characters. Can't believe that I had it so long and waited so long to pick it up and read it!
When I was 12 or 13, I was given this book as a gift from my late grandpa. It didn't sound very interesting at the time, but now I not only love the story, but the book itself is a treasure. "A House Called Memory" is a book of memory for me.
