I found this used book online, first enamored by its title. I am(was) interested in the Esalen movement of the 70s, particularly as it pertains to massage. I thought this book might have some insight. I later read in the "Massage Book" that this book was recommended for further reading. Well, I finally finished it. It was tough to get through. The author spent a couple years joining week-long and weekend encounter groups (T-Groups) for the purpose personal growth. She is obviously a good writer, but the material is very dry and not very engaging. I am reading several other books simultaneously and I dreaded every time I had to pick this one back up. 80 pages to go. 70. Put it down, come back to it later. I felt like I did when I was in high school and was forced to read books I didn't like. I supposed no one is forcing me, but if I put down every book as soon as it gets boring, I might finish any books. No one else has reviewed it, so I feel kind of bad giving it only 2 stars, but it is not one I would recommend to my friends.
