This is an excellent, clear, engaging and highly readable book. I learned a lot about many scientific studies done to examine the effectiveness of Vitamin C as well as reasons the public has been directed away from the treatment. I feel more informed, curious, and hopeful after reading this book. My gratitude to the author.
An old but good book about Vitamin C and the health benefits this vitamin has, especially in preventing and healing colds. Nobel Prize winner Linus Pauling points out how large doses of vitamin C actually can prevent and make you well from colds and other respiratory diseases. Although the book is old and there is certainly a lot of new and confirming research on what Pauling writes about, this is a good and instructive book about this vitamin, or this "food" as Pauling also calls it. A gem of a book that I found in a book container at the garbage heap.
Linus Pauling's first book in ascorbic acid (aka vitamin C). I have his How To Live Longer...book, and I wanted to read previous one as well. Well, let's just say there is a reason Linus Pauling took 2 unshared Nobel prizes.
