This was an amazing book! I got goosebumps at the end. I'm so glad I ordered the rest in the series. Had a great plot and I loved the location too. Unputdownable
Lonestar Angel was an enjoyable read! I'm not one for romance and will admit I squirmed once or twice and skimmed other parts (it's a Christian book, so it's clean, but I personally don't enjoy much romance), but mixed with such an intriguing mystery and suspense, it ended up being a fun (quick) read for me!
The main thing that bothered me with this book was the way the little girls talked at times. According to the story, they were all five, but I found myself sometimes thinking they were older due to the way they spoke. And I know that since they were all foster kids, they probably were a little more 'grown up' than other girls their age, but like I said, it was unbelievable at times. Of course, this is just my opinion based on experience with this age group. :)
I also guessed who the main criminal was within the first few chapters (all of those Boxcar Children mysteries helped me out, after all). xD It wasn't very obvious at first, but as the book went on I became more and more suspicious. I guess I've just learned to look for the least suspecting character and suspect them. Lol
Anyway, overall I have to say that I did enjoy this story. Three and a half stars. :)
Eden and Clay Larson have endured every parent's worst nightmare. Their precious little girl was kidnapped and presumed dead. Unable to face their loss, the two drifted apart. Now they are reunited as the kidnapper makes contact after years of silence. Will the two be able to find their daughter and their way back to one another?
This book kept me intrigued from the first to the last page. The fast-paced plot was intricately woven and contained twists and turns in each chapter. I had read the previous books in the series, and it was nice to see familiar characters play a supporting role in Eden and Clay's story. The romance element was interesting as well since it was a couple who was already married...that was a nice change from the typical romance.
I have a heart for kids in foster care. I taught several kids in the system and mentor a teen in foster care now. The storyline of girls in foster care was done well---showing the flaws and successes. The girls' stories added an emotional element to a suspense novel, raising the overall impact of the story and making it my favorite book in the series.
Fans of Christian fiction will enjoy this addition to the Lonestar tales by Colleen Coble.
I received this book in exchange for my review. My thoughts and opinions are my own.
It all started with one lost woman, a desperate father, and an abducted child. The most terrible thing that can happen to parents happened to this couple. Their child is kidnaped and thought dead. Their new marriage doesn't hold up to the challenge and she runs and files for divorce. Five years later, she is about to start her life over when the unthinkable happens. There is a photo of their daughter and they must work together to try to get her back. That is not the only blow, her ex-husband is not her ex but they are still married, he never signed the papers. This is a hard relationship, there are a lot of past hurts and a lot of misunderstandings and lack of communication. Working together will make them or break them. There is much to discover, many truths that need come out. A sweet predictable story if love and forgiveness and some light bible moments. One big HEA ending. This is a Christian author, and she keeps it fairly light.
This was purely a nostalgic read for me! I read the first three books of this series back in grade school and was quite obsessed with them! I found out a month ago there was a fourth book so I had to read it!
This is a Christian book series and so it’s very very tame, lots of reference to your relationship with God and how trials can affect it. The first three books all sort of take a similar storyline and this was the only one that strayed from it! I definitely liked the first two books in the series the best for sure.
Unfortunately this book was very cheesy, pretty unrealistic, and super repetitive- I don’t remember the other books being this bad lol 😂 I also really didn’t vibe with the characters at all.. The female main character was super annoying. I think my grade school self would also agree. But it has a bit of mystery to it which made it a decent read still!
Eden and Clay’s baby was stolen and their marriage could not recover from the loss.
Years later, Clay finds Eden to tell her two things: They are still married and their baby may have been found.
They travel to the ranch where they believe their little girl now lives. Together they must determine which child is theirs and see if they can rekindle their past romance to make a home for their family.
The book contains suspense but also focuses on second-chances, forgiveness, and new beginnings. It is a sweet story of renewed hope.
I love Colleen Coble books and how they just suck you and you can’t stop reading until you’ve finished the book! Yet another 10/10 book. A little bit of romance, sadness, sweetness, mystery and intrigue, all with a happy ending!
Suspenseful & atmospheric! I really loved this one! The story took a lot of unexpected twists and turns that kept me engaged in the characters lives. I feel this was a really well developed book!
Clay Larson had a job that kept him away from his new wife Eden and at times put his own life at risk as a photo journalist in the drug lord filled jungles in Columbia. When their only infant daughter Brianna is suddenly kidnapped and a ransom offered, the Larson's marriage will be put to the ultimate test. Feeling this has something to do with his job, Clay is more than willing to put up the ten-thousand dollar ransom demand. However in the process of delivering the money to the drop site on a rain slick road, Eden rear ends the car with her daughter and the kidnappers inside causing the car to plunge into the icy river and no one survived.
Now torn between their grief, the Larson's can't seem to put their marriage back together. Eden feels responsible for the loss of their daughter, and Clay feels that his job put them at risk in the first place. Now five years later, the Larson's have moved on, without each other. Eden believes she has been divorced from Clay but when he suddenly shows up claiming their daughter may still be alive, will God have other plans for Clay and Eden?
In the novel, Lonestar Angel by Colleen Coble, we see how grief can tear a marriage apart but ultimately God will have other plans as both of them are now united in a search for their missing daughter, Brianna who could be 5 now if she is in fact alive. Will the Larson's discover the glue that binds marriages together or will they be torn more by reliving their grief once again?
I received this novel compliments of Thomas Nelson Publishers and Net Galley for my honest review and absolutely loved the story of love torn apart and God revealing Himself in the midst of a parents worst nightmare. This is a story about faith, hope and love, the three greatest gifts God has to offer anyone who believes in Him. I rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars for those that love western modern day romance stories with suspense thrown in to add some spice.
“Lonestar Angel” is a blend of romance and suspense that surprised me on both counts. I really didn’t know what to expect when I started reading this novel, but what I got hidden between the pages was quite the ride.
I like to read stories of couples that have been torn apart by difficult situations and brought back together over what tore them apart in the first place. And you really can’t get any more dramatic for a romantic suspense than to have a six week old baby girl kidnapped from her parents.
Clay and Eden bring an added tension to the story from the very first page. And it got my attention immediately – there was no slow start to this novel.
Elements of suspense riddle the pages as the reader watches Eden and Clay work through their challenges and trying to find their daughter, now growing from the preschool and kindergarten years. You just have to feel their angst in trying to find their baby.
Suspense builds to a peek as the novel reaches the climax and took a surprise twist I kind of suspected, but didn’t necessarily see coming.
It’s a pretty fast read, doesn’t hit a great deal of emotional highs or lows, but as the reader I got the “punch” intended behind the words and kept going. It’s a good book and I was pleased with the time I spent with it.
This review is my honest opinion. Thanks to the publisher for my copy to review.
Eden and Clay Larson suffered the unthinkable, their 6 week old baby was stolen. Can't even imagine, and don't want to! They have both gone their separate ways, and Eden figures that they are divorced. When Clay is sent a picture stating that Brianna is still alive, he finds Eden and tells her he never signed the papers and they are still married. Shown the picture, he and Eden head to Texas to try and discover who sent the picture and find their daughter. You will wonder if they ever will. They take on 5 little girls who are 5 years old at the Bluebird Ranch. Love that they both have found Christ and are sharing their faith, but evil lurks in the world. You will not know what is coming next or who is the target! This is one action packed story, and will keep you guessing right to the end. Don't miss this one!! It has it all....kidnapping, blackmail, abuse, drug cartel, and more.
I received this book through Netgalley and the publisher Thomas Nelson, and was not required to give a positive review.
There are so many facets to this story line that even if you figure out one mystery, there are plenty more to keep you guessing and hold your attention until the proverbial fat lady shows up. Good character development and adorable children that you can't help but fall in love with made me not want to put the book down.
There were one or two instances that I had a difficult time interpreting, characters I'm pretty sure left the seen suddenly have a line, and then disappear again, but otherwise good flow and a great conclusion to the series.
A mystery, that kept me guessing, with a healthy dose of romance.
Eden and Clay Larson's baby girl was kidnapped just weeks after her birth. The tragedy resulted in Eden and Clay's broken marriage. But now with a new lead on their daughter's whereabouts Eden and Clay might just be able to start over again...except...
Filled with action, and mystery with great dialogue and fully fleshed out characters.
Colleen Coble has a great way of drawing you into a story and keeping you there. This was a good heartwarming story with some suspense mixed in. Clay and Eden's daughter was kidnapped and died when she was a baby. Or so they thought. . . . Five years later after both of them have moved on Clay finds Eden and tells her that their daughter is still alive. Hence begins the dangerous game of trying to get their daughter back. This was a good cat and mouse game that kept drawing me in more and more!
I really liked the many-faceted plot in this 4th installment of this series! It has it all, with lots of action and some suspense, mistaken identities, misunderstandings, family tensions, young foster girls, horses and puppies… and a message about trusting God through even the hardest trials and biggest worries.
Lonestar Angel by Colleen Coble Review by Kara Grant
Part of Chapter 1 “Silverware tinkled in the dimly lit dining room of twenty, an upscale restaurant located inside Charley Creek Inn, a classy boutique hotel. Eden Larson smiled over the top of her glass of water at Kent Huston. He was so intelligent and kind. His blue eyes were filled with intent tonight, and she had known what he had planned from the moment he suggested this place for dinner. The piano player’s voice rose above the music as he sang ‘Waiting for a Girl Like You.’ Kent had spoken that very phrase to her often in the year they’d been dating. ‘Warm enough?’ he asked. ‘It’s a perfect night.’ ‘In every way,’ he agreed. ‘I want to--’ ‘Kent.’ She reached across the linen tablecloth and took his hand. ‘I need to tell you something.’ Before he asked her to marry him, he needed to know what baggage she carried. She’d intended to tell him before now—long before. But every time she tried, the pain closed her throat. She wasn’t ready to talk about it then, and maybe she wasn’t ready now, but he deserved to know. Kent smiled. ‘Are you finally going to tell me what brought you to town? I don’t really care, Eden. I’m just thankful you’re here. I love you.’ She wetted her lips. It didn’t matter that he said he didn’t care. She owed it to him to tell him about her past and the demons that had driven her here to Wabash, Indiana. ‘Kent…’ The sense of a presence behind her made her pause. ‘Eden,’ a man said. Her heart seized in her chest. She’d recognize that deep timbre anywhere. It haunted her dreams and its accusing tones punctuated her nightmares. The deep vibrancy of that voice would impress any woman before she ever saw him. She turned slowly in her upholstered chair and stared up at Clay Larson, who stood under the crystal chandelier that was the centerpiece of the intimate dining room. ‘Clay.’ How could he be here? He hadn’t changed a bit. His hair was still just as dark and curly. His dark blue eyes were just as arresting. And her pulse galloped the way it had the first time she’d set eyes on him. ‘I need to talk to you,’ he said, stepping toward her. ‘It’s important.’ Oh, she should have told Kent before now. This was the wrong way for him to discover her past. He was beginning to frown as he glanced from Eden to Clay, whose broad shoulders and vibrant presence loomed over their table. It was going to come out now. All of it. Her pretend life vanished into mist. What had made her think she could escape the past? ‘Who are you?’ Kent said. ‘And what right do you have to interrupt a private conversation?’ ‘The right of a husband,’ Clay said, his gaze holding her. ‘Ex-husband,’ she managed to say past the tightness of her throat. ‘No, Eden, Husband.’ He held up a sheaf of papers in his right hand. ‘What are those?’ ‘I never signed the divorce paper,’ he said quietly, just to her. ‘You’re still married to me.’ She heard Kent gasp in the silence as the song in the background came to an end. ‘That’s impossible.’ She stared at Clay, unable to take in what he’d said. ‘We were divorced over five years ago.’ ‘You sent the papers over five years ago,’ he corrected. ‘I just never signed them.’ She stared at the blank signature line he showed her. Why had she never followed up? Because she’d been too busy running. ‘Why not?’ He shook his head. ‘I had my reasons. Right now, there’s something more important to discuss.’ ‘What could be more important?’ she asked. Fingers clutched her arm and she turned her head and stared into Kent’s face. ‘I…I’m so sorry, Kent. I was just about to tell you.’ ‘Tell me that you’re married?’ Kent’s eyes held confusion and hurt. ‘I don’t understand.’ She shook her head. ‘I’m divorced. Or at least I thought I was. I haven’t seen Clay in five years.’ Kent’s frown smoothed out. ‘I think you’d better leave,’ he said to Clay. He scooted back in his chair. She laid a hand on his arm. ‘Let me handle this,’ she said. Anger was beginning to replace her stupor and shock. ‘Why are you here, Clay?’ ‘Would you like to step outside so we can continue this in private?’ Clay asked, glancing around the room. Heat flamed in her cheeks when she saw the interested stares from the two nearby tables. ‘Just go away. We can talk tomorrow.’ His firm lips flattened but he stayed where he was. ‘I’ve found Brianna, Eden. She’s alive.’ She struggled to breathe. She searched his face for the hint of a lie but saw only implacable certainty. She shook her head. ‘That’s impossible. She’s dead.’ Beside her Kent jerked, his eyes wide. She half rose. ‘I never believed it,’ Clay said. ‘Her body was never found so I kept looking. She’s alive, Eden.’ She studied his expression. He returned her stare. His face was full of conviction, and she felt a tiny flutter that might be hope begin to stir. ‘You’re serious?’ ‘I know she’s alive. I can’t retrieve her alone. I need you to come with me.’ ‘How do you know these things? I don’t understand anything.’ ‘I’ll explain all of it. But come with me now.’ She wanted to believe him, but it was impossible. Had his grief made him delusional? Clay was the most logical, practical man she’d ever met. But what he was saying couldn’t be true. ‘I need to talk to Kent first,’ she said. ‘I’ll wait outside your apartment.’ ‘How do you know where I live?’ ‘I know everything about you. I always have.’ He strode away through a gauntlet of interested stares. She tore her gaze from Clay’s broad back and directed her attention to Kent. There would be no tender proposal now. She hated the hurt in his eyes, hated that she’d put it there. When she reached across the table to him, at least he didn’t flinch away. His fingers gripped hers in the same confident way that had first attracted her. ‘I’m so sorry, Kent.’ ‘You want to tell me about it?’ She didn’t want to but she had to. ‘Clay and I didn’t really know one another very well when we were married. We met in Hawaii. He was on leave from the Air Force. He’s a photojournalist. Our…our fling on vacation resulted in an unexpected blessing.’ His brows lifted, ‘You got pregnant?’ ‘Yes. Clay wanted to do the right thing. And I wanted to provide the best upbringing for Brianna. I was inlove with my daughter the first moment I laid eyes on her.’ Her eyes misted at the memory. ‘She was beautiful.’ ‘I’ll bet she was,’ Kent said, his voice soft. ‘She died?’ Eden nodded. ‘A kidnapping attempt that went wrong.’ Oh, she didn’t want to talk about it. It hurt too much. Pain radiated from her chest to her throat. She swallowed hard. ‘Our marriage was all about her, not about us. I ran away, unable to deal with his pain and my own.’ She managed a smile. ‘But I ended up here in Wabash, where I found Christ. And you. At least something good came of it.’ They’d met at New Life, and she knew Kent understood the way her life had changed. He’d become a Christian a few weeks before they met. Kent’s eyes were troubled. ‘But now he’s saying Brianna is alive.’ She furrowed her brow. ‘I can’t believe that’s true.’ Kent’s expression grew calm. ‘Don’t you think you’d better find out? If there’s even a chance, you have to go with him.’ She studied his dear face. While theirs had been no grand passion, they had a special relationship based on mutual respect, faith, and fondness. She’d had every intention of accepting his proposal when it came. His stability attracted her at the deepest level. She pushed back her chair on the plush carpet. ‘You’re right. Pray for me?’ ‘You know I will.’ He stood and walked her to the door, where he paused. ‘And if you come back to Wabash, we’ll see what God has for us then. I think we both want his will.’ She lifted her face for him to brush his lips across her cheek. ‘You’re a good man, Kent Huston.’ A slight smile tugged his lips upward. ‘Let me know what happens, okay?’ ‘I will.’ She left him at the restaurant and walked across the hotel lobby to the front doors. Her cell phone rang before she reached the exit. She glanced at the caller ID. Daniel, her foster brother. He’d been in a snit ever since she told him she intended to accept Kent’s proposal, and he hadn’t answered any of her phone calls since. Well, he could wait himself now. Clay’s revelation was too important to interrupt. Through the glass door she saw Clay standing outside under the old-fashioned streetlight. He was staring at the marquee above the old Eagles Theater. A forgotten emotion tugged at her heart. Memories vied for possession of her mind, but she pushed them away and stepped outside. Brianna couldn’t be alive. Could she?”
My review: From the moment I read this I was hooked to the story. What are some parents willing to do in order to keep their children safe? How do you move on when your child goes missing and the case is never solved? I had to find out how Clay and Eden proceeded throughout the story and with a start like that I knew I was in for a good book. Colleen Coble does NOT disappoint. Even though I reviewed Smitten, I considered this my first Coble book and it kept me glued from the first page!
Clay discovers that Brianna has been raised as a foster child and is living on this ranch in Texas designed to help both foster children and horses that have been abused. Clay and Eden pose as a married couple to serve as counselors to a group of 5 year old girls. Due to recent evidence Clay has, he believes that one of these girls is their daughter. Clay and Eden design a plan that seems foolproof to deciding which one is Brianna so they can get her back and become a family once again. The only problem is, which one is Brianna? And what ever happened to the kidnapper?
As Clay and Eden deal with what went wrong in their short marriage, get to know the group of girls assigned to them, and get to know one another in the process many things go wrong. Clay gets bit by a rattlesnake, Eden is locked in a bathroom and a barn that gets set on fire, a tornado hits the ranch, Eden’s birth mother gets in touch with her leaving Eden with lots of questions, and this adorable couple learns to face their fears and rely on God. There is tension throughout the story with them, but Eden begins to trust Clay and they are able to get past the brokenness they experienced when their daughter was kidnapped.
What I didn’t like about the story: the mention of a snake, spiders, and scorpions; however they were part of the setting in West Texas and the desert is full of critters. Eden and Clay are deceitful in getting this job, but at some point they become overwhelmed of the situation and must come clean.
This story is full of adventure, healing, mystery and family and it was a treat to read! My favorite part of it was learning about the kids in this story. They are so real and you feel like you’re there with them; from comforting nightmares, brushing hair, and playing with puppies to discovering which one is really Brianna. Despite the heartache they go through from their birth families, they come to life with Clay and Eden and it was a joy to experience such devotion shown to them! Clay is also determined to win Eden’s heart despite the mistakes they’ve made and it was refreshing to see how far he goes to keep her safe. As I read the story I wanted it to end a certain way and for closure on all the minor characters; I LOOOOVED the ending and I will have to read more books by Colleen Coble!!!!!
I want to thank NetGalley.com and Thomas Nelson for the free copy they provided for my review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
I don't read a lot of romance novels, and I have never read an inspirational romance before reading this book. I have no particularly strong feelings about the story in general or the writing style. It was fine, but nothing impressive. The reason I can't justify giving this book 3 stars is the number of times I had to step back and question the moments that perpetuate rape culture.
I probably wouldn't have noticed most of these moments if it weren't for the first one, in the first chapter. (Spoiler for page 5.) This is not romantic. This is stalker-ish. Another comment raised a huge red flag in my mind, from page 12. This is, again, not romantic. I half expected this to be a hint that Clay had plans to harm or kill Eden, and prevent her from returning to Wabash, Indiana. It is a suspense-type book; he could be a serial killer for all the reader knows that early in the novel.
Even if he doesn't have the intention to harm Eden, Clay does manipulate her. Several time throughout the book he grabs her arm or keeps hold of it when she tries to pull away. He is using his superior strength to force her to do as he wants. He doesn't explicitly ask for consent when he might. Consent is sexy, kids. Talking about what you want is part of a healthy relationship. I found that to be somewhat lacking in this book.
Over the course of 331 pages of actual novel, I found no less than 16 moments of dubious consent or outright manipulation, usually physical. There could certainly be more that I didn't take note of, and I didn't mark places of emotional manipulation (using feelings of guilt or responsibility regarding their lost daughter). There were also a few moments of factual inaccuracies and other confusing or questionable content. For me, this is simply too many instances to give this book a positive review.
I used to believe that reading anything was better than reading nothing. At least if someone is reading, they are expanding their views and learning to empathize with others, right? Over the years, I have moved away from such an expansive and all-encompassing viewpoint. Reading things that perpetuate hatred, stereotypes, or rape culture without a critical eye toward recognizing these aspects of a written work is not a positive act. The media we consume impacts our beliefs and standards. In a time when reading materials are plentiful and available, I believe it is important to choose those materials with some intention. I have no plans to read any other books in this series or by this author, unless it is for the sake of comparison.
This book was quite enjoyable. I read the synopsis before borrowing it from my library and it intrigued me, so I did not hesitate to check it out.
What I Liked: First off, it was nice seeing some characters from the previous book that I read. Clay and Eden were great characters that I enjoyed reading about. They were both very different, but they fit together and I really enjoyed seeing their relationship improve throughout the book.
All the girls were precious. This author did a good job of giving the girls differing personalities so they didn’t all blend together. The mystery surrounding Clay and Eden’s missing daughter, Briana, kept me on the edge of my seat and this book kept having twists and turns all the way to the end. I listened to the audio book version and before I knew it towards the end of the book I looked down at the screen to see how many more minutes of it I had left and I saw I only had thirteen!
This book was definitely action packed, but it went along at a good pace, though. I hurt for Eden as she had to remember things from her past and discern different things with her mother, but I loved how Clay was always there and supported and protected her.
What I Didn’t Like: I don’t think there was really anything that I really disliked about this book.
I give this book 5/5 stars for another great book by Colleen Coble! I want to pick up the first two books sometime and catch up on Allie’s and Shannon’s stories.
Eden's hope is rekindled when Clay delivers astounding news: their daughter has been found. Five years ago Eden and Clay Larson's baby was stolen and never found. But danger is closing in--Eden, Clay, and their young charges are in jeopardy. As they fight to save their family, Eden realizes that God has been fighting for them all along. And His plans are for a more abundant life than they've dared to hope. One of my fav authors has done it again. An outstanding book. Great plot and a story line that kept you interested. A few parts gave me goosebumps. If you like intrigue, romance and a downright great story, this book is for you. 5 stars.
1. the way the story started was weird and not quite believable 2. the relationship with the jeans and boots was nonsensical 3. also didn’t jive that Eden was a nurse and a bit of a prima-donna.. The humbling things you have to do as a nurse… Prima-donna and nurse don’t go together 4. the sneaking of the DNA.. again weird 5. Clay stalking Eden the whole time they were ‘divorced’.. weird 6. “A man isn’t supposed to let his wife worry about anything”? ... that would only be possible if she was dead.. you sexist ass 7. administering an EpiPen after being poisoned by a rattlesnake would only make the poison spread quicker.. and why in the hell would you even bother if you have the anti-venom vaccine on site? just get the damn anti-venom! 8. everyone of the books was about someone killing them.. in the same town.. same group of friends.. the likelihood of that is slim 9. the story was a bit of a stretch
Lonestar Angel is the fourth book in the Lonestar Sanctuary series. Colleen Coble has written a western second chance romantic suspense story set in Texas hill country at Bluebird Ranch, a sanctuary for abused horses and troubled youth. You can’t help but root for both Eden and Clay to move past their difficult past and succeed in making a future together while untangling the mystery of their missing daughter. The underlying theme of God fighting for them through the hard times and having plans for their lives despite the pain of the present is wound through the storyline. There’s constant suspense and danger throughout the book which caught my attention until I read the last page! I love how they kept the characters from the previous books in the storyline. Quote: “Life is hard, Eden. For everyone. We all have different challenges to face. All those hardships strengthen our faith and form us, though. I suspect God has great tasks in mind for some of these children. They’ll need great grace to accomplish those tasks, so great trials are needed.”
I enjoyed this romantic suspense installment of this series and enjoyed being reunited with the previous couples in this series. This was more of a difficult book to read in the sense that we are dealing with sweet 5 year old who are all in the orphan system. It is a bit heartbreaking to know there is so many lonely children out there in need of a loving home.
There was a lot happening in the action/suspense scene, but I guessed the person and motive correctly since I was introduced to the kidnapper, though there was some doubts, but when it was revealed it was not surprising at all.
The relationship between Eden and Clay is already there, but broken, and it was enjoyable to see the reconciliation happening.
I enjoyed this series and would recommend it to fans of romantic suspense.
I always count on Colleen Coble's writing to be an experience of suspense, romance, uplifting values and good people overcoming the bad we face. Lonestar Angel began with such an unexpected scene and just kept going! Though I knew early who was involved I couldn't work out how everything happened from the kidnapping(s) to the ending. It was a very suspenseful, exciting and heartwarming story. Everyone could use friends like Rick and Allie. They give 100% to help others.
The story itself sounds so intriguing. Long lost baby girl, long lost husband. It opens so fast with Eden literally out with her boyfriend and her ex husband comes and tells her he’s her husband still. It’s all a little soap opera-ish. However, an age old cute storyline.
I’d say I wanted to keep reading but after that first chapter, that was literally all I wanted to read. Skim to the end and they are gonna adopt and have all four girls. Which is super cute but did not make me want to dive in and read the whole thing. Just too much sap.
Romantic evening for Eden, she knew Kent wanted to propose. Her baggage she had, needed to be told first, when a voice from the past stops her. How could he be here. Now he saying they are still married, and he found where their daughter is. Having been taken from them, ended a marriage,Seeking her out at Bluebird Ranch, they go as counselors, is it really her, and is a love still there. Good story as was the series. Each dealing with loss, and having love and families.
