My house/ mi casa
Summary:
this book is written in both Spanish and English. It gives a tour of the house! It goes throughout the house and explains what is found in each room! the illustrations are really great! They also have vocabulary words for items they find. They have small and easy to understand sentences.
Like or not:
I really like this book! It also has great vocabulary! It is very good for Spanish speaking students in a classroom! I like how easy it is to read especially if someone is trying to learn Spanish or English.
Classroom:
this is great to have in a classroom! It would be great for both
Spanish and English speaking students since it has both translations. I think that I would use this as a book on my shelf for anyone to read when they want. You could take the vocabulary words that they find in the house and use them for a vocabulary quiz for students to learn Spanish and English.

Main Ideas:
Recognition
Language

Recommended: I would recommend “My House (A Book in Two Language)/ Mi Casa (Un Libro en Dos Lenguas)” because this book invites readers to learn basic words in both Spanish and English. In addition, this “My House - Mi Casa” makes learning a new language fun and is the perfect way to introduce reading to children who speak either Spanish or English at home.

Personal Reaction: Reading “My House (A Book in Two Language)/ Mi Casa (Un Libro en Dos Lenguas)” was a fun experience. Although, I speak Spanish some of the translations I thought were either unusual or I did not recognized such as - cupboard / las alacenas & light switch / el interruptor. As a whole, students will not only be able to extend their vocabulary in two languages, but also increase their recognition.

Satisfying Concluding Statement: Learn basic words in Spanish and English.

My House/ Mi Casa is a book about different rooms and items that are found in a home. This book is bilingual, and uses fairly simple sentences in both English and Spanish. I think this book would be great for English language learners, whom their primary language was spanish. I believe this story is targeted for children in kindergarten or lower. The simple sentence structure is a great way to introduce students who are just learning how to read, or may have difficulty learning how to read. Since the book is on household items, the children will be able to make a connection between the pictures and the words. I believe that this book can be used to begin teaching students another language. Overall I think My House/ Mi Casa can be a useful tool for teachers to use in their classroom.

My house/ Mi Casa is a bi-lingual book that names household rooms and items. It also has very small easy to understand sentences in English and Spanish. I think that this book would be something useful in preschool classrooms. It would also be a great tool in Elementary schools for English Learners. The illustrations in the book make it really easy to follow. Young children will enjoy saying the word and sentences in English and then in Spanish. It can also be used to teach young children the different items found in a house. Since this book is so simple it may not keep children older than 6 entertained. It is definitely for very small children and English or Spanish learners.

This book uses easy phrases and bright illustrations to introduce young readers to Spanish. It goes room by room and identifies the objects that are commonly present in many homes. Best suited for ages 4-8, but anyone wanting to learn Spanish could benefit from it. This book great for sharing culture with a young audience.

I really found this book beneficial because of the way it introduced two languages simultaneously. Also, I appreciated the fact that the book used simple and everyday phrases to teach Spanish to children. Finally, the bright pictures were extremely inviting for children. I would recommend this book for younger children wanting to learn the basics of a second language.

Not bad, but the lack of a story makes it less interesting than other books that are bilingual. This would really only be appropriate for deliberately teaching a children Spanish and/or English.
