Illus. in full color. In this sequel to the critically acclaimed "Toad onthe Road, " Toad joyfully takes to the tracks with his freewheeling spirit, carefree humor, and new motto, "Give me a ticket to go anywhere! The fartherthe better, I don't care!"
My son *LOVED* this book for a couple of years. There's a couple of more books about Toad. All told in rhyme, cute pictures, no plot really. But he thought it was GREAT!
A good book for beginning readers, this is a fun story to read aloud. The illustrations are fun and the narrative is simple and rhyming. Our girls had fun reading this one aloud with me.
This rhyming story is told by Railroad Toad who loves to travel wherever he can by passenger train. The reader gets to see some cars of the train, nicely illustrated for the reader to see what goes on there.
Fun reading with a four-year-old, but probably better for a younger audience. The pictures were cute, and the rhymes worthy of a beat rap. My son enjoyed it, but I'm not sure he'll be asking for seconds.
Rhyming, cute, funny, and a total favorite for the two year old. I also appreciate the small class reference ("I take the coach because it's cheaper") and, ya know, TRAINS!
