Love's Crash Landing

Rate this book
Gavin Howard lives a simple life on his farm, keeping to himself and staying under the radar. That is all changed late one night when a spaceship crash-lands in his cornfield. So what is a simple farmer to do when he finds an injured alien lying in his back yard? Take it inside and care for it until it can "phone home," of course.

But Prince Mi'Kel Ta'Rulen is not what Gavin expected. Beautiful, gentle, and on a mission to save his dying planet, Mi'Kel needs Gavin's help for more than just his injuries. Can Gavin help Mi'Kel find the solution to save his people all while keeping the little alien safe from the Earth governments hunting him?

Gavin finds himself falling in love with the being from outer space, but can he find it in his heart to let the little alien go when Mi'Kel's ship is finally fixed? Or will Mi'Kel's secrets drive them apart when the alien needs his farmer the most?

Amylea Lyn is a little odd, a lot weird, and just plain strange. At least that's what everyone tells her. She lives in Nevada, filling her laptop with too many stories to count and trying to ignore the yells of her football-obsessed siblings in the background. Most days, Amylea can be found sitting in her favorite chair after work, bugging those around her for fun tidbits to make her stories more interesting. When she's not writing, Amylea spends her time daydreaming her fantasies while talking to herself without realizing it, experimenting with different baked dishes that she force feeds her brothers, and plotting ways to get back at her psychotic cat. All in all, she likes to think of herself as pretty normal... even if it's only by her own standards.

This is a story about an alien who, in keeping with tradition, decides to invade an American farm and make himself a permanent fixation on it until otherwise persecuted by the American government.

Fortunately, all signs of extraterrestrial anything ends with the introduction of a suspiciously easy to obtain green card, a social security number, and the destruction of his space bucket.

But once he obtains all his legal reasons to remain, does he reveal his dastardly alieny things? Does he turn green, or give birth to a child that will go on to spawn 3 Hollywood movies? Does he FUCK.

See, my beef with this book is that there's absolutely no point in writing alien anything if you don't even plan to make anything extraterrestrial about them. Miki, from start to end, is described only as someone small and beautiful with flowing blonde hair and milky white skin. Sounds familiar?

No extra pairs of balls here, sir. No extra fingers, or hands, or anything for the matter - unless you count a womb there to attract people who like mpreg. I've ranted before about aliens that are really just people dipped in body paint, but this really takes the cake. Not only is the alien human, it doesn't even have the courtesy of being a different color.

Fucking rude pieces of shit.

Look, I get it. I really do. This is romance, and not many people will want to read about people having sex with something that looks like the bastard child of Gimli and a unicorn-squid. But what's the point of writing about an alien that looks like a human? It's like reading a shifter book where the werewolves turn into people.

Yeah.

Exciting shit.

Spaceships, shady feds, surprises and alien sex! *grins* Come on! What’s not to love about a beautiful, blond, bubble-butt alien twink setting sparks & fireworks off with a big, ex-Marine, farmer stacked with muscles? Hello! I grinned and glowed all the way through this book.

Love’s Crash Landing by Amylea Lyn kicked right into action with a crash, boom, and a bang! A “no-one-is-going-to-believe-this” adventure about love crash landing right on your front lawn. I fell for Gavin and Mi’Kel (Miki) at first sight. Gavin’s life and world changes in a flash once he scoops up his little wounded alien in his arms. The attraction is instant, sweet, and sexy. You could say the sex was out of this world! ;)

“…the tentative touch sending a shock-wave through his body, making his skin shiver in need and cock begin to harden. Turning his face back around, Mi’Kel found himself trapped in the dark gaze of the other man, breath coming in short gasps.”

But is it love? And how can it possibly last?

This quick sweet and sexy read is filled to the heavens with all sorts of alien cuddles, cross dressing, and cuteness! With very little angst or drama, I just settled in and enjoyed the ride. My heart flipped over the light, fun, teasing tone, humor, and men. Strong, likeable characters brought to life with sex appeal, smiles, and goodness. You will feel how good, honorable, and sweet they are underneath it all. The way Miki and Gavin looked, touched, and felt about each other warmed my heart. Made me want to cuddle up with the nearest E.T. :) My only complaint was the … I’m definitely going to hunt down more from Amylea Lyn though. Her writing felt so natural—slid right into my world with ease. This was one of my favorite lines…

”The breeze teased the naked skin under the long shirt he wore, brushing across his flesh as though the air itself wanted to feel his skin.”

I’ve always been a sucker for space, aliens, and out of this world adventures. I blame Captain Kirk for the addiction. :D That wide-eyed awe, innocence, and sense of wonder as a visitor takes in a new world and planet always stirs something inside me. Makes me want to explore new places. See new things. Try new foods. Haha…Miki’s reaction to bacon was hilarious and so true! The amazement just makes you look around at your own world with new eyes. But then—on top of all that wonder and fun—add sex! Haha…Flipping brilliant!

Recommended joy ride! Have fun.

p.s. To add even more sexy fun to the story, there is actually another hot ex-Marine. I need to get out to the country more. Mark, Gavin’s best friend, added a layer of I-always-have-your-back support and love. I would love to hear his full story.

Well, I think I’ll just stick to the shifter mpreg from now on. I haven’t had any luck with alien mpreg so far.

At least this alien was small and hairless instead of big, horned and furry, as in my last alien mpreg.

But the writing was just terrible. And there were so many plot holes, I lost count.

This was a bit cheesy. Mi'Kel was portrayed very much like a woman, and that bothered me. His mannerisms, his appearance, his clothes, and how he reacted to the pregnancy. He's an alien. Give him a bit more foreign mannerisms. His planet was dying so they adapted to the change and men now carry, although many not to term. But although he was humanoid, I felt he should have had some more glaring differences from humans. Mainly in the way his body handled pregnancy. Sure, some bits were explained, but then it turned out he was all typically hormonal. Almost like he became a simpering little lady. It bothered me. The story as a whole was good, but it needed a bit more development to be believable.

What if "Starman" (of the 1984 movie directed by John Carpenter) had been gay? This story picks up the key elements of that movie, but creates a whole additional and much richer alien world to go with it. Also, the emphasis is on the alien's mission to save his planet, and the developing relationship between Gavin, an ex-Marine and the alien. It is a nice, entertaining read which occasionally made me chuckle at some of the references to other sci-fi books and the sheer improbability of the whole situation. Serious science fiction this is not, but it's a very sweet story and a wonderful human-alien romance.

Gavin is a simple farmer, but he is also an ex-Marine, so he understands the bigger picture when an alien spaceship lands in his cornfield. He likes the look of the guy and decides to protect him by hiding the spaceship in his barn and applying first aid to the alien. One thing leads to another, and he finds himself falling for Mi'Kel which, of course, creates a whole new range of issues. Soon the Feds who are suspicious about the lights they saw the night of the crash are the least of Gavin's problems…

Mi'Kel is on a mission to sample Earth DNA to bring plants and animals back to his war-ravaged planet. He has no idea why he crashed, and is determined to complete his mission. If only he weren't so attracted to this human who is so willing to help and more than amazing when they make love.

If you like sci-fi with a touch of humor., if you enjoy interspecies relationships and all the cross-cultural and other issues they sometimes entail, and if you're looking for a short, fun read that is bound to touch your heart and yet entertain you, then you will probably like this book.

Cue the Cheesecake Factory Alarms for Cheese Overload

Cliche fiction absolutely works for me. I really won't even pretend to be too good for cliches, tropes, and all possible cheesy plotlines out there. I love aliens. They're my absolute favorites. I admit I do prefer aliens who are incredibly alien -Gimme tentacles! Gimme a prehensile tail! Gimme all the wacky differences possible!- but I'm wiling to accept an alien attitude over an alien appearance if that's what I'm given and it's done well enough to appease my inner fangirl.

Amylea Lyn manages to make Mi'Kel (Miki) really alien in his mannerisms while he's basically just a super-pretty, small guy with blonde hair so I was receptive to him as an alien crash-landed into a big ole Marine's farm. I liked how he was casual about his species evolving to allow men to carry young so their people wouldn't die out. I had no problem with the MPREG aspect of this one though he does get a lot more feminine along the course of the work; I normally don't go in for exceptionally femme men in my M/M romance.

I think Love's Crash Landing worked so well for me because the sex was fun, sensual, and believable while the characters felt very anime in a way. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone who hasn't experience yaoi, but there's a definite seme/uke vibe to this book which I was okay with once I identified the trope at play.

I'd recommend this one to people who know they enjoy MPREG, don't take their fiction too seriously, and really only want a good "popcorn" read. It's not the kind of book which will be winning any Pulitzers, but it's a whole lot of fun for an afternoon stuck inside. It's one I'd have no problem recommending to people who usually don't like MPREG too as it's not as far out there as a lot of the concepts are in those books. It's basically science fantasy since the whole reason Miki can carry a young is because he's an alien. (Why does it work? MAGIC! Why does it work? ALIENS! See? It's a nice genre perk at work.) I'm glad I chose this one for my read for the subject.

This wasn't a bad novella if you totally shut off your reasonable thinking mind. Gavin is an ex-marine and now a farmer enjoying his uncomplicated life with his best friend and next door neighbor Mark. One quiet night a spaceship crashes in Gavin's corn field with an injured alien. The alien turns out to be Prince Mi'Kel Ta'Rulen who was scouting Earth for information to save his dying planet of Zinoa. The problems begin when the government starts snooping around and Mi'Kel gets pregnant. I liked the three main characters and Ms Lyn did a good job of fleshing out the men. What aggravated me was the constant references to the "little guy" that Gavin made about Mi'Kel. Loads of sex and cross dressing for a practical purpose but the story just did not work for me.

Rounding up from 3.5 stars for the cute. There are times with insta-love just works for me. And this was one. Gavin is a former Marine farmer who lives alone and is neighbors with his best friend. One day he wakes to the sound of a spaceship crashing in one of his fields. He finds an injured alien being who is the most beautiful man he has ever seen. He is immediately attracted to him and has an urge to help him. He hides the wreckage and all evidence of the crash. When the alien awakes, he introduces himself as Prince Mi'Kel Ta'Rulen of the planet Zinoa. He had been sent to find other planets that had plants and animals in order to bring that knowledge and DNA back to his dying planet.

I really did like the couple, but story seemed simplistic and the pacing was slightly off. I would definitely read more, though, if it included Gavin's friend Mark and Mi'Kel's brother No'Lan.

Okay. Yes this is a "oh i love you so much its only been a day or two" type of story. But so what? I absolutely loved this story. I turned my "that cant happen subconscious voice" off. No, I stuffed her into a little box with a key so I could enjoy the book. Don't take that as a bad thing, but this is a romance mpreg book. the idea that men can get preggers is enough to send your mind into a whirlwind. SO to sum it all up I would recommend the book for people who want a sweet mpreg story. this isnt going to be some deep gut wrenching heartache book. Nope. this is about one marine with his farm dog who loves his little pretty alien to pieces. Whoo hoo! :)

It's alien, male pregnancy, ufo crash...the by the book don't believe unless I see, hear, myself people who can't suspend their skepticism will not like this. Me.. I'm an alien person all the way. I've always believed we are not the only thing in this great big universe (how arrogant is that) but I'd still have to have proof, lol.

When I first started this, I was in fact suspecting a more non-human (skin color, eyes, something) appearance but while the physical makeup is different the outside is like a small sized man beautiful enough with the right cloths to pass as a woman. Cute read... looking forward to the next on Miki's planet as opposed to Earth.

M-preg is my guilty pleasure, but something that annoys the hell out of me with it, is never getting the damn birth.
We don't in this.
It would have been a good 4 stars for me if I'd witnessed the birth.
It seems kinda hard to find these stories with a little more substance. They tend to be light, insta-love, and very alpha/omega. This was exactly that.
I enjoyed it still, it was an easy read. I'm not going to complain about it's lack of realism because if I wanted realism I'd have read a contemporary romance story.
I would have liked for Mi'Kel to be a little more masculine though, other than the fact he had a dick he may as well have been a woman.

I really liked this book. And Miki. He was so sweet. I'm a sucker for scifi and anything with aliens. It was a little predictable with the government agents but that's ok. I would love to read a second book to find out about Mark.

This was different. I mean that in every sense of the word. This book would earn a 3.75 star rating from me, if such a rating were possible. In truth, my opinion of the book kept flip-flopping as I read, so the "rating" was bouncing up and down & changing all the time, depending on the chapter. This book managed to surprise me more than once, which in the end, I decided was a good thing.

In terms of tone, this book seemed to suffer an identity crisis. Most of the time, it was light-hearted and adorable, with a juvenile sense of humor and a levity that read more like an episode of Scooby-Doo than an adult Sci-fi read. That said, this was definitely a read for adults only, considering the graphic erotic content and dark themes that were interspersed throughout the book. The MCs, Gavin and Mi'Kel, only added to this sense of incongruity. Gavin was depicted largely as a simple-minded, wholesome, overgrown American farm boy. That image is shaken up considerably when his ex-Marine alter ego steps in and not only outsmarts federal agents, but breaks their necks and blows the heads off their co-conspirators without an ounce of hesitation or remorse. Mi'Kel is an extraterrestrial being from a civilization far more advanced than our own. On his home planet, he is both a noble prince an esteemed warrior. However, after Mi'Kel crash-lands on earth, Gavin becomes his rescuer, provider and protector. Mi'Kel needs to depend on Gavin entirely to ensure his survival. While adapting to life as Gavin's charge and lover, he quickly takes on blatantly infantile and feminine characteristics which are both amusing and disturbing to behold...particularly in the bedroom.

There are a couple of holes in the the plot that leave me with unanswered questions. Even in the context of Science Fiction, I feel there are boundaries of plausibility that shouldn't be challenged without explanation. I won't go into specific examples as it really didn't have too much of an impact on my enjoyment of the book and because I don't want to give too much away in this review.

All in all, while this book had it's share of misfires, I do think it was successful in providing an entertaining, creative and original read for fans of Sci-fi and M/M Romance.

This was just OK for me.
I had a hard time with why. Why didn't he turn in the ship, and alien. Why did Mike turn so protective on an alien that he had no emotional ties to. Why did agent Hernandez stay on so long when there was nothing to see.

This book was a quick sweet read. I would definitely prefer some more romance and some more dramatic story, because we pretty much met the characters and the second day they were in love and pregnant and all happy already. I wasn't excited but it wasn't boring. It was alright.

This was a far out story in more ways that one. It was quirky with its take on the alien world-building a little and yet it was a sweet romance above all.

The main characters are a lonely ex-marine, Gavin who has gone back to farming after getting out of the service who lives next door to his best friend, Mark, another ex-marine who took up farming. And the other main character Prince Mi'Kel who comes to earth to investigate its natural resources and farming techniques which he hopes to glean enough knowledge to help his dying world.

Mi'Kel is mysteriously shot down and crash lands in Gavin's back field. Gavin finds the injured Mi'Kel and the space craft. He is incredulous, but is instantly attracted to and protective of the cute little alien.

The plot is a blend of a budding romance between Gavin and Miki as well as the constant need to protect Miki from the federal agents who know about the crash landing. Gavin and Miki struggle because they both know that it is important that Miki get back to his own world with the knowledge that he as gleaned. A twist of Miki's alien physiology give them another surprising twist to their relationship.

The story is low on angst though there are misunderstandings. It is just a fun read that shouldn't be taken to seriously. Gavin's dog is such a hoot and steals the scenes and I loved the little side line promise for Mark's future. But best of all, I enjoyed the bringing together of the big tough ex-marine and his little alien.

After reading over half of the book I finally give up on this one.

I will never understand, why people have to write a gay lovestory, where one of the two man is basically a woman, with long, wavy hair, ethereal beauty ["more pretty than any woman on this planet"], behaving in a submissive, meek way... and getting pregnant. Oh, yeah, let's not forget the MPREG... and the crossdressing.

The idea of some alien landing or crashing on Earth and finding "True Love" (tm) has been used in multiple love stories (gay or het) already. It's not a new idea, but it can be written in an okay kinda way. - Sadly that wasn't the case here...

All of the main characters don't seem to HAVE any kind of character. They are cardboard, cliché characters with not real personality.
Problems are presented in the story [FBI agents showing up, the alien prince getting pregnant..] and are "solved" right in the next moment. There's no suspense curve. Which makes this a very boring read.
Plus, I somehow must have missed the MPREG part when reading the summary of the story (or maybe it wasn't in the summary I've read?) or I would never have started reading that book.

2 stars since the writing is somewhat decent and people who enjoy MPREG, crossdressing, feminine "male" characters and a flat storyline may enjoy reading this one.

First off there has to be a sequel to this, Mark and No'Lan story must be told.

That said this is the first M-Preg book I have read and I'm glad I started here. What a wonderfully cute story Miki & Gavin are adorable. I wasn't sure how I would like a m-preg story but this was well written and believable for me. Thank You Amylea for that. Now I will have to seek out others.
