The first in a serialized collection of the sexy adventures of Jane in the jungle. Inspired by the stories of Tarzan and Jane, this serial is a creative, edgy, and yet romantically erotic Tarzan and Jane collection.
Darker and more intense than Fifty Shades of Grey, Entwined--and the subsequent volumes--are not for the faint of heart.
~~~ When not-as-proper-as-one-would-think Victorian woman Jane Clemons convinces her father to take her on an expedition in the jungle, her only goal is to find her lover Jonathan, who disappeared three years earlier. She and her father, along with Jonathan’s trusted friend Kellan Darkdale, set off on their journey.
But shortly after their party arrives on the coast of Madagascar, Jane finds herself enthralled not only by the freedom and beauty of the lush jungle, but a reclusive wild man who seems to be fascinated by her.
ENTWINED is a novella (about 80 pages). It’s the first in a series that will follow Jane Clemons and her explicit, titillating adventures in the jungle with Tarzan and others. Jane's playmates are sexy, dark, erotic and some of the have a tendency toward BDSM. But in the end, Zaren (inspired by Tarzan), is the only man for her.
In case you weren't aware, Colette Gale is actually Colleen Gleason's pseudonym for her historical erotica retellings, and she also writes post-apocalyptic science fiction romance as Joss Ware.
Anyway, this is FREE right now on Amazon. I'm not a fan of serials or novellas in general, but hey, it's free and it's Colleen Gleason so I ain't even mad.
Sorry not sorry, but this book was terrible. I picked this up for the cramathon bc it was the only ~novella~ I had on my shelf, and man. So bad. If you guys watch any of my videos you know that I enjoy a good smutty romance every now and again, but this was just absurd. No. Just no.
I just don't read erotica. It's not that I don't like a bit of sexy times (I do), it's just that reading a story solely about having lots of sexy times typically isn't my thing. That and what is sexy to one person isn't necessarily sexy to someone else.
But one thing I try to do is to give a genre and author a fighting chance. And that's why I picked out this novella.
(Oh, and it was also free.)
If erotica is your thing, then I could totally see you liking this. It's a decent story (I felt at times the author was gently poking fun at the Tarzan/Jane mythos, which was amusing), I liked the twist on Jane/Tarzan, and some of the sexy times ARE pretty sexy (again: what is sexy to one person doesn't mean it's sexy for everyone). It's just...erotica isn't my thing.
So I doubt I'll read more of these, but hey, you can't say I didn't try, can you?
Yum! Really enjoyed “Entwined”, an erotic re-telling of Jane & Tarzan that perfectly met my expectations. Very well-written & engaging, as well as well-developed for its short length.
Yes, this novelette is in serial form (structured as series of vignettes), which I avoid for several reasons (even more so for shorts), but Colette Gale is not a NTM author so I was happy to grab the freebie and renew my acquaintance w/ her writing. So if you like ER-HR and never read anything by Ms. Gale, then try her writing via this freebie.
Note: I heard (but never confirmed) that this author's non-erotic alter ego is Colleen Gleason. Which sounds about right b/c I read some of CG's Gardella Vampire Chronicles series, as well as her HR-medieval series, which probably led me to her erotic works.
Sexual content: m/f; assault/attempted rape (but not violent); scene simulating FS/DC & bondage; sexual terms appropriate for Victorian era (e.g., “quim” ^.^).
“Entwined” is erotic version of Jane of the jungle. Jane Clemmons goes on an expedition to the jungle with her father. But her true goal is to find her lover Jonathan, who had disappeared in that very jungle some time before. Also with them is Kellan Darkdale, a friend Jonathan.
While in the jungle, they settle in a tree house built there during a previous expedition. During the first night there, Kellan tries to force himself on Jane. Jane successfully pushes him away. Of course they are being watched. They are being watched by the wild man that lives in the jungle. During the course of the story, Jane comes across the wild man. She begins to desire him and he desires her.
The sex scenes are steamy. It's a good story. And it ends with a major cliffhanger. I definitely will be reading the next book.
As Erotica this works, somewhat. Personally, I don’t like rape in my erotica in any way, and quite frankly, Jane is legally raped once in this. It’s true, though, that it is quite clear that she is not giving consent and the relationship is not the ideal, but the whole sub-plot of the forced not desired suitor just annoyed. Additionally, Jane saying she was a proper Victorian lady is at odds with her history with Jonathan, so it doesn’t quite work. And she really seems to get out of those corsets quite easily. Still, the writing in terms of wording, grammar, imagery, hotness, is pretty good. My objections are mostly personal taste.
this is a sexy version of Jane in the jungle. She heads to the jungle to find or learn how she lost her long lost love Jonathon. During the stay the last person who saw Jonathon alive forces himself on Jane.. kisses and nipple touching and tells her that Jonathon told him how to please her. sooo .... we hate him .. gross
but our little Jane has a crazy libido and there are four orgasm scenes that are written quite hot.... it truly is hard to write a sex scene without it just being over the top
was this serial enough to make me read the next 6? not when the next 6 will cost 18$... seems a bit much for each book being less than 100 pages.
Don’t say anything I’m in my erotica era 🙄✋ And unfortunately this shit was good af and LEFT ME HANGING so we’re reading the next one and what about it 😑
— Coming back after reading the second and third books in the series…THIS SHIT IS NOT GOOD AF I WAS WRONG AND IM OFFICIALLY OUT OF MY EROTICA ERA 😀✌️
FINAL DECISION: Definitely a guilty pleasure, but a fun, erotic read. Tarzan story told from Jane's point of view with lots of sex.
THE STORY: Jane Clemons comes to the jungle with her father. This is the place where her fiance disappeared three years ago. Now Jane has come along with her fiance's friend Kellan Darkdale but he seems to be pursuing her whether she wants him to or not. Jane also encounters a wild man who calls to her in ways she doesn't expect.
OPINION: This story isn't particularly deep and the relationships in it are not really romantic ones, but I do enjoy this book and the series as a whole. The story is definitely erotica with plenty of sex with various partners. In this book, Jane is a not-so-uptight Victorian woman who has a past with her fiance, but still clings to some of the strictures of the age. She is being pursued by a man who she doesn't want and finds herself intrigued by the jungle man. This is the tamest of the books as it sets up some of the relationships and storylines in the series.
I enjoy the book which doesn't really take itself seriously and instead it feels like a fun, entertaining read with no expectations and no serious messages.
WORTH MENTIONING: This is a serialized story meaning that these are short novellas and each ends on a cliffhanger and continues with the same characters into a new book. The story is not complete here so you have to be committed to the entire series.
CONNECTED BOOKS: ENTWINED is the first book in the Erotic Adventures of Jane in the Jungle.
I like the story of Tarzan. This re-telling was just...bad. Like really bad. The MC is supposed to be smart. Her actions that were supposed to demonstrate her cleverness were pretty foolish. *facepalms. Eg: locking an almost-rapist out of her room, (but that dude already ran out!) which was supposed to show her bravery since she chose to stay in the room with what she thought was a jaguar about to eat her. (Hint: why not just run away since the rapist is also out the door and far away from where she is?) But of course, the "jaguar" turns out to be our male protagonist. Of course. *eyerolls The story also makes little sense. Will not continue with this.
This is a cute story and I would've like to read more, but like I have said before…I refuse to give my money to authors who end a story right at a crucial point. This is only a ploy to get you to plop down your hard earned money for the next installment. This is a short story, around 65 pages, the next installment is about 72 and the cost is $2.99. Regardless of whether I would like to keep reading or not, I refuse just on principal!
I don't even understand... this book had more controversial material than erotica. I can't even begin to describe how WRONG everything in here was, if you want erotica, DO NOT PICK UP THIS BOOK. The situations in here are not healthy and they more than likely will trigger someone. This was so... I don't even think the word 'disgusting' can describe how violated I feel from reading this. It's on the same scale as another book that I THOROUGHLY hate that's in the same genre. Good grief!!
Short novella that continues in book 2 (Entangled). A twist on Tarzan/Jane. Not bad as far as erotic novellas go; Jane didn't do anything really ridiculous or stupid, which was a nice surprise. I bought book 2 so I could see what happens next. I liked that the "sex" scenes were not over the top, at least not in this book. Looking forward to the scenes heating up in book 2.
This is a short serialized story which tells the Tarzan and Jane story from a different and erotic point of view. It's actually rather good, despite the hated serialization, and keeps me interested throughout the story. This was my first foray with this author, but I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading some of her other works!
This was a very nice short story . “Entwined” is erotic version of Jane of the jungle. The dialog flowed and the scenes were not forced, it was a nice reading. I liked the story.
“Only two months ago, she’d been nothing but a proper Victorian lady, trussed up in her corsets and shimmies and petticoats in London … And now, here she was, a wanton woman seducing a wild man of the jungle.” It's 1890 and Miss Jane Clemons has joined her father on an expedition to a remote part of Madagascar. He's looking for exotic animals and she hopes to find evidence of her fiancée, Jonathan, who went missing there several years before. Kellan Darkdale, who was on the ill-fated expedition with Jonathan, is also on the trip and he has plans for Jane. Jane, however, has the hots for a mysterious savage who lives in the forest and haunts her dreams. “Entwined”, first in 'The Erotic Adventures of Jane in the Jungle', is a jolly romp combining elements of 'Tarzan/Jane' and 'The Perils of Pauline.' At just 80 pages it is far too short and it ends abruptly on a cliff-hanger. 2.5 Stars, raised to 3 Stars.
This is how you do an erotic book, que además es un retelling de Tarzán. AMÉ.
No esperaba nada de este libro y logró sorprenderme gratamente, es un buen comienzo de una saga prometedora. No me gustó que sea de esas historias to be continued… en la siguiente entrega, pero lo que leí me hizo comprometerme con la siguiente.
El retelling está muy bien logrado, la narración es exquisita, las escenas hot son intensas y la trama promete.
3.5 stars rounded up to 4 Cute erotic retelling of Tarzan and Jane. Short little novella about Jane and her first encounters with the "Tarzan" character (he doesn't have a name yet). It was short, so there wasn't really much depth in the story. Then again, I wasn't exactly honed in on the plot... 🫣 I'd definitely recommend it to friends looking for a short sexy read that manages to enthrall you enough to produce a cliff hanger.
This wasn't a bad start. I really enjoy Colette Gales writing style. I've read one book from her a while ago and really enjoyed. I think this was just too short. I know it continues in the next few stories but I kind of like having one big book with the full story.
Evocative and exciting. This is a book for anyone who fell in love with Tarzan and grew up wanting to know what happened next in the story of Tarzan and Jane.
