This is a body jump time travel romance it was an easy read and though not incredibly complicated and quite predictable I enjoyed it. It’s quite light on the steam front but I found myself not minding mostly because time travel romances are my happy place. I liked how the heroine Barrett finds herself in the past the entrance was dramatic, to say the least as she suddenly awakens and finds herself in labour giving birth to a son. To make matters more complicated she’s married and her husband seems to dislike her a lot.

This is told in dual POV the two main characters Barrett and Chase were at odds from the start there could definitely have been more in-depth character development, especially in regards to their personal interactions. I did feel that their relationship wasn’t founded in much at all and seemed slightly superficial there wasn’t a lot of transparency or developed intimacy between them even at the finish of this Barrett hasn’t revealed just who she actually is to her spouse.

I also was annoyed that Chase reacted the way he did to certain events that transpired especially considering that Barrett had given him the benefit of the doubt earlier so it did feel a bit hypocritical of him.

I also did think that this resolved a bit too easily but despite that this was still a quick easy read with a HEA and an intriguing storyline at its centre and the idea of a guardian angel in the form of Gideon opening Barrett up to all of the possibilities she was missing was a nice touch.

I have really began to like Jenny Lykins work! While all the books I've read so far have a Time Travel theme, they are all unique in their own way.

Waiting for Yesterday follows Barrett, a sad and very alone woman in 1997, who gets sent back in time by her guardian angel. She is sent to find love and is thrust into an awful position.

I connected with Waiting for Yesterday more then the others I've read by Jenny, it just struck me as being more real. The beginning is just wow! What a way to find out you are back in a time not your own. This book was well written and is full of action from the very beginning. I loved it!....Stormi

Did not like the heroine which ruined the book for me. She threw tantrums, was selfish and a know it all that knew very little... She was almost a dr cause she had listened to dinner conversations 🤔!

Brooding over the fact that her ex boyfriend has just married her twin sister, the heroine falls asleep in a B&B and wakes up in 1887 in the body of another woman who's in the middle of childbirth. From that point on, she constantly confuses the people around her as she's completely different from the woman she's supposed to be. Her 'husband' hates her because of her affair with his twin brother a week before their marriage making him doubt that the newborn is his.

For the first 5 days (my god 5 days and this stupid woman still believe this was anything more than a dream) is extremely distant from the infant she must care for. She calls him 'it' and has little to no regard for the fact that he depends on her. When she finally comes to the realization that she is not dreaming but in fact inhabiting the body of a woman who actually died giving birth, she throws a mammoth sized hissy fit. She storms into the woods, intending to ignore the fact that the baby will die without her to feed him, and willing to get hypothermia in a bid for her guardian angel to send her back.

I can safety say that for the majority of the book I didn't only strongly dislike the heroine, I HATED her. She was vain, selfish, whinny and self centered. She was beyond annoying. She threw tantrums about everything she had to do. She made sure everyone knew that she hated doing laundry or cooking or cleaning and what made it worse was the fact that the hero actually preferred her this way! What?! The hero actually liked that his wife was no long the timid well mannered and clean woman... He spent most of the book frustrated beyond belief with his wife's amnesia and uselessness but at the same time he was clear about liking the woman having spunk. I couldn't believe the stupidity in this book from both characters. First of all, this is supposed to be historical post civil war yet even the hero spoke with modern phrasing and terminology. It was off putting. That paired with little to no actual plot line or conflict, zero chemistry between characters and a heroine I wanted to stab with a dull weapon, this was a complete waste of time. So disappointing because I have enjoyed this author is this past but this was unbearable.

This is the only book I disliked from this author. Too much detailed information that makes me cringe in certain areas. I can handle the details of her giving birth as that's part of the main plot. The breastfeeding and the results of it ( how she was sensitive, she had an excess amount, how much it hurt...) was just too much info for me. It took away from the book and almost made me stop reading because it was completely unnecessary. I can understand exactly why her husband couldn't bring himself to trust her. I don't hold that against him. What I did hold him accountable for was when the issue of trusting her came back after they settled their differences and put the past in the past. I won't read this book ever again it was too awkward and too much for me to get through. I don't believe in them being happy together and can't accept their relationship.

This recently came out for the kindle, and I remembered enjoying it when I read it before. Still my favorite kind of story (time travel)

this was a re-read. I don't remember when I read it originally, but its been a few years. I didn't remember exactly what happened, which makes it always fun to re-read a good story. :) my favorite kind of story... time travel romance! :)

Overall I enjoyed the book however there were a few things I had problems with ~ I didn't like the fact that H never found out that h wasn't Elizabeth and she was somebody else from another time. It just kinda made the love story feel not real. Also I didn't like the scene about the whole him trying out her breast milk??!?! Errrr so not my thing!

Sweet story

I'm new to this writer but it was pleasantly surprising. The slow heat between the lovers but the only thing g drove me mad was the thing about time travel romance one has to t e all the other.

Time travel romance! Woman from 1997 gets thrown back in time to 1887 to learn how to love and be loved and stop just getting thru day by day. Nothing great!

Great read

I read a lot of books and the best are the ones that pull you into the story as if you are there and all of your emotions are involved. You cry you laugh you feel. This book does that and more. I would highly recommend this book to everyone.
