Another year's worth of wild and wacky information from Ripley's Believe It or Not!
144 pages of awesomely weird information such as rainbow clouds in the Himalayas, a Chinese building in shape of teapot, a woman who's worn and lived in pink clothes for 25 years, a kidney stone the size of a coconut, bed sheets that cost $150,000, running a marathon underwater, and MORE!
Believe It or Not is like Guinness World Records, the author gives you a lot of information about interesting or crazy things people have done. Robert Ripley, the author of the book became a huge star after he founded this book. This book is Non-fiction, the genre is mostly crazy but also a little scary. I think Ripley made this book for humours or knowledgeable thoughts.
I think the author of this book tried to deliver that people can do anything but only if you commit to what you are trying to do. Personally I learned quiet a few things for example, we people can be obsessed to something easily or we can make miniature things. I don't think you would a lot learn from this book, you would probably get to the point of people can do anything but only if you commit to it.
I would give this book a 8, it has weird but also funny short stories. My favorite part of the story is on page 12 where I found out there is a pink lake in Africa, Senegal. I would recommend the for 10-12 year olds who like to read short and interesting "stories". I hope you will enjoy the book.
I love the Ripley's books. I learn all sorts of weird facts and like reading weird stuff out loud to my mom to freak her out. This book is awesome. (2nd grade)
Vocab is easier in this one than in others. Great photos and graphics. Highly recommend for young, adventurous readers (Mom).

Format– Each page has color filled images of weird and amazing marvels which are Ripley. Illustrations and text are arranged in scrapbooking style breaking the boring format of many reference materials. The pictures are clear and eye-catching. The table of contents is arranged into subject categories. The index has small readable font in 4 column design.
Arrangement and Presentation- The presentation strategies used are especially inviting to children. The front cover of a bulging-eyed woman is an overwhelming invitation for children to pick it up.
