Mary McMullen [1920-1986] was a pseudonym of Mary Reilly Wilson, mystery and suspense writer, daughter of mystery writer Helen Reilly and sister of mystery writer Ursula Curliss
Ser in Ireland before cable tv and cell phones, this is a satisfying mystery with underlying love story. I liked it; it kept me reading. I will be looking for more of the author’s mysteries at used bookstores.
engaging read though the title had little to do w/ the story. title implied a horror story but it was not at all. another reviewer stated that this author ends stories abruptly w/o necessarily wrapping things up in a bow & that was definitely the case. enjoyable mystery & was a quick, easy read.
