As of right now, it's almost 400k+ words long, with 37 chapters published (out of a projected 68 chapters.) WIPs stress me out, so am waiting to read it when it's completed.

This is my favourite X-men fanfic and this is a story that has been popping into my mind for about two years (since I first read it) and I always keep my fingers crossed for the new chapter to come out soon. The updates are pretty regular, once every 2-3 months.
Now the characters are not very close to the comic/movie versions, but that's almost a given since this is a dystopia AU. What I absolutely love in this story are the huge and complicated plot with lots of symbolism and all the great characters, especially close to my heart is the relationship between Charles and Erik. The plot is very important to the story and we don't meet Erik properly very soon in the story. After the beginning, Erik gets a large role, though.
Erik lurks in the background a lot of the time and Charles gets to know and takes care of the children like Jean and Ororo and deals with adults like Logan, Hank and Emma. Charles' biggest motivation is protecting the children, but what surprised me the most was how dark he is, (though there are clues in canon about Charles manipulating people). I like this darker version of Charles and though Erik is a villainous beast, he can be very innocent about some things, which was very endearing.
The romance is definitely not fluffy, but I find it very interesting and the sex scenes are very hot. The plot is very enjoyable if you're interested in stories about kidnapped people, who suffer a lot and who won't submit to their kidnappers easily. The story is also very symbolic and there is a lot of focus on the politics of the world, which makes for some incredible world-building. Nothing and nobody is black and white in this story! <3
Here's a more detailed summary and though this says spoilers, I seriously doubt this spoils anything. Everything here is pretty easy to guess.

The world of "Nine Eleven Ten" has been torn to pieces in World War Three and put back together badly. In 1969, when the mysterious Takers come to Oxford, Professor Charles Xavier sacrifices himself by revealing his mutant power to save his sister Raven. He is claimed by the White Queen, Emma Frost - leader of the "Eastern Brethren and Sistren" - and taken back to her kingdom in part of what used to be the United States.
Kept in an old mansion used for training new recruits to fight for the kingdom, Charles attracts the attention of the mysterious beast-like man who lives there ... and who falls in love with Charles but has no human standards of behaviour or morality.
Loosely based off of Beauty and the Beast.

Now I need to mention something that might scare a reader away around the 100'000 words mark in the story and this part has actual spoilers. I tried not to reveal too much, but if you like Dark!Charles you don't need to read this:

Now there is some dub-con and almost-rape in this story and what shocked me and turned me off during the first time that I read this fic, was a part where Charles goes into Erik's mind and nearly rapes Erik. It was just so uncharacteristic of him and it seemed like the author had made a mistake, but now that I look at it I see that Charles was being influenced By Erik's mind and normally he wouldn't do anything like that. Then the story proceeds in a much more interesting direction where Charles becomes the target of Erik's lust.

This epic is one of the most terrific and dark fanfiction ever! though not that dark when I reached the darkest of the plot. The story deserves more than 5 stars. Actually, I think it should be published as a book and yeah I just figured it out that the last time update was on 2015 and now it's 2018 already! I know it's WIP but I feel like it is very well done and well written and It's the longest fanfiction that I ever read so far.

El worldbuilding es simplemente maravilloso. Toma los elementos de las pelis y los transforma en una sociedad post apocaliptica con mucho transfondo. Los personajes son maravillosos. Emma es una villana genial. Una pena que este inacabado.

One of the finest fanfiction I've ever read, in any fandom. Worth a read even if it's incomplete. Hope that it will be finished, someday!

this has plot threads better than any book out there. i'm upset at myself for continuing an incomplete fic knowing there's no ending yet but it's THAT good.
