This novelette is in the dying Earth tradition, a post-apocalyptic fantasy mixing magic with memories of genetic engineering. That premise made for a good start, although the author was trying too hard, cramming too much detail in and only getting himself muddled with POV and continuity errors. And then it gets crass, awfully puerile, as the climax of the story - if you’ll forgive me - is the protagonist being divinely granted a magical golden dick meant to save the world. This trash is beyond parody.
