In book five of her enthralling adventures, Nanny Piggins discovers some startling truths about the ruthless Ringmaster, provides counselling to a Moldovan princess with pre-wedding jitters, inadvertently wins a Nobel Prize while impersonating her sister and catches up with her favourite 4-tonne friend, Esmeralda the forgetful elephant.
Sometimes when I read books in series too close together I meld them into one book...IT also doesn't help that I'm leaving this review NOW and not when I actually finished the book.
If you've ever read a NP novel you'll know how much of a pest the Rival Ringmaster can be and within this novel he's nothing BUT trouble, of course, with a healthy slap of comedy so you won't actually get mad at him!
There are some references in the book that may go over the little ones head but the older set of kids will probably pick up on and find amusing. The reference to Cirque de Soleil had me chuckling though.
The chapter about the high school reunion..Well that was a bit of an eye opener!!! I never really expected that.
Always the best read aloud for a variety of ages. Best for road trips and anytime you’re in the car. The audio version is only on audible but we often listen to them again.
There is just not a Nanny Piggins that fails with us. We always end up laughing at all the chocolate laced antics and her ability to saw such blatantly honest truth about certain topics always make this mom smile. This one features more of the circus, the ringmaster and Mr. green’s past including his first name… gasp!
This amazing book features a lot of fun bits and pieces of stories each with its own unique problems and solutions. The target audience is for around 8-12 year olds, but mainly suitable for all. The main character, Sarah Piggins (Nanny Piggins) comes across her biggest challenges yet - her ringmaster’s arch enemy. Nanny Piggins challenges the enemy to a battle based on circus skills to win her circus mates over. Who will win?
This pig!!!! ❤️ She's like Amelia bedelia and Mary poppins and the irrepressible spunk of Olivia the pig all rolled into one. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this series.
This book is back up to snuff and Nanny Piggins is better than ever. Book 4 shook my faith, but only a little (you'll note I still gave it a 5 star rating). This book brought back longer adventures and even *gasp* some failure on Nanny Piggins part. Which just makes her more spectacular when it all comes out right in the end.
This book makes you think what idiots some of the characters are...but it's a good book for young people. I've grown past it now, but it is funny in some chapters. Not bad for 10 - 12 years olds, but I don't find it interesting anymore.
