This story is basically a re-written version of "The Mutiny on the Bounty" from the viewpoint that, ah....the Mutiny didn't succeed.
Anyways, a Spaceship full of Europeans....I mean a Spaceship of the Terran Trade Federation lands on a Pristine and Isolated Pacific Island...er...Planet full of Gorgeous, Golden-Skinned, Pysically Well-Built, and Mostly Naked Savages.....er...Inhabitants, where there is Peace, Free Love, a Beautiful Environment, lots of Fresh Delicious and Healthy Free Food, some Pretty Good Mind-Altering Drugs and lots of Bongo Playing and Dancing All Night long.
And for some reason, all the Crew want to Abandon Ship and Hang Out the rest of their lives on this Planet.
Except for one Bitchin', Not-So-Good-Lookin', Uptight and Anal-Retentive School Teacher Marm who's pissed off that her Husband has decided to Jump Ship and Hang Out with a Gorgeous, Golden-Skinned, etc. etc......Native Girl (or two). There's always at least one Woman like this in every Golden Age Pulp Sci-Fi Schoolboy Fantasy Action Story isn't there.
And so the Plot happens.....
....and the Trade-Agent-in-Command uses a couple of Atomic Pistols and a bit of Loud Violence to get the Errant Husband out of the Arms of his Gorgeous, Golden-Skinned, etc. etc.....Native Girl, and back on the Rocket and Hauls everyone Off Planet and Back to Earth.
And along the way, a Vapour-like Drug is smuggled aboard the ship, erases everyone's memory of having landed on the Planet, and it's now a case of Paradise Lost...or at least forgotten.
It's an o.k. story, with a lot of Wish Fulfillment going on, but it doesn't quite live up to its potential.
But in its original Pulp Publication, it does come with a nice picture of a Naked, Gorgeous, Golden-Skinned......well, you know.
What interested me was how obsessed the Trade Federation was with constantly Seeking Out and Conquering new, Untouched Planets and Opening them up for Trade. It was a Religious Crusade that constantly drove the Federation Ships non-stop into space.
Seems they understood that the only way to avoid a Massive Recession, was to just constantly be Expanding their Trade Network across the Galaxy.
When you sit back and think about it, the story has an underlying Scarey Dystopian Vision Driving it.
Worth reading just for that part.

Great story by great author.

A story of a earth visiting a planet of peaceful people and how we deal with. The story is told in a unhurried fashion in a conversational style. There is plenty of drama.
The narrators voice is clear and easy to listen to.
The recording quality is good with some echo and it has enough volume. The editing is seamless.
I listen to these short stories while walking to work.
