I'd definitely recommend this over its manga adaptation, if only because the thrice-damned status windows aren't present in this, the original book.

fun if a little juvenile

This was fun. I enjoyed the mining, taming, and city building. The MC was a little too naive and goody goody for my taste, but this is to be expected considering the genre.

I guess I was overdue to pick up a dud. I dropped this at the 33% point on my Kindle and I don't have anything positive to say about the story.

I've read a number of mediocre stories that follow the Crest of Failure, Primitive Slow Life, and Living With Demihumans tropes, along with various light novels that make almost no effort fill in plot holes. This story managed to take many of the negatives of those stories and didn't take any of the interesting qualities.

The magic is the flimsiest I've seen this side of My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1, so there's every effort to provide the MC with everything he could ever want or need and no effort to justify the existence of any of it with logic. I can also see the goblin wife trope coming a mile away and it's only made worse by the fact the MC described her as looking like a toddler initially, so the Lolicon is strong with this one.

Books like this make me hesitant to pick up another Lite Novel for a while.

This is the most boring and uninteresting novel I have read this year.15 years of being a laughing stock of the family and kingdom and in one chapter, the author turned him into the luckiest person in the kingdom. Author😑 at least spend some time on giving him such strength and build your character. The MC is way too perfect. He gives precious gems like he is giving plain rocks. And seriously author😒 Your best idea was to turn a goblin into a human? Seriously??? And speaking of goblin, the continuous mantra of "I couldn't help, I'm sorry" was really annoying. How many times did the goblin princess needed to say that.

I wish I can rant more and give thorough explanation but I just don't care anymore.

I love these kinds of stories where the main character is disregarded as weak, but then later discovers he has strengths that make him strong, especially if he works hard to develop his skills.

After he is banished, the hero basically discovers that he is unexpectedly overpowered, but years of being looked down upon has not made him bitter or angry and he is just a really nice guy.

The prose is a little simplistic, or maybe that’s just the translation? But overall it’s a really cute story with a bit of romance.

I really enjoyed this! It's a very sweet story with very interesting characters. I love tales where the one everybody called useless finds their place and their strength and their value in community! It's a well worn formula be wise it works!

Amazing

I really enjoyed this book it was a really good read. The plot twits in it had me on the edge of my seat, I really enjoyed the storyline and how his little island is continuing to grow.

Lousy family

Totally enjoyed reading this book. I like when the underdogs win out. This book had just enough backstory just enough mundane stuff and just enough action. I'm looking forward to reading the next book

It was okay. Nothing that I found especially offensive. Pleasant enough story with a twist of making something that doesn't seem powerful, powerful.

Also I really like Kingdom builder things. This has a lot of hallmarks of that.

The lightnovel feels like it was written by an avid Minecraft player. Which is not a bad thing per se, but there was no story, so it got boring quick. The characters feel hollow to the point that they have no motivation but to serve the MC
