He's big, he's bad and he's here to save the day. From the author of The Black Knight Chronicles comes a new series of supernatural comedy with a Johnny Cash soundtrack and a Kevin Smith twist. The first collected edition of Bubba the Monster Hunter stories features the three "B's" of fine literature - beer, boobs and blood. Add the fourth B for Bubba and you've got a rollicking good time!
Meet Bubba the Monster Hunter, a 6'5" 340-pound hero for the working man. If it goes bump in the night, Bubba'll kill it. Vampires, Zombies, Ghouls, Werewolves, Ghosts, Witches, Warlocks, whatever. If it can be shot, he'll shoot it. If it can be hit, he'll hit it. And if there's a payday involved, he's on the case.
Voodoo Children In this first Bubba the Monster Hunter story, everybody's favorite redneck is chasing zombies through the hills of Tennessee. Follow Bubba through beer joints, strip clubs and graveyards as he and his best helper Bertha (a .50 Desert Eagle Pistol) make sure that what's dead, stays dead.
Ballet of Blood In Ballet of Blood, Bubba has to investigate a mysterious touring dance troupe that of course turns out to be more than he expected. Bubba, backed up as always by the hilarious Skeeter, has to make do with his wits and what weapons he can find backstage at a theatre to get out of his most dangerous adventure yet.
Ho-Ho-Homicide Bubba's back and this time he's in costume! Everybody's favorite redneck monster hunter goes undercover as a mall Santa to get to the bottom of a series of mysterious murders. Along the way he encounters snotty kids, annoying mothers, a smokin' hot elf, the spirit of Christmas and a tribe of fairies that would rather make war than toys!
Tassels of Terror Bubba's back, and this time it's personal! A mysterious fire destroyed a topless club in South Carolina, and Bubba must get to the bottom of the mystery and rescue a missing stripper before more bloodshed ensues. A timeless story of love and pole dancers.

This is *Bubba* - he who bumps back the night.
Grab a beer, pick up a shot gun and jump into the truck for some Monster Hunter 'ventures. This book be high art, like a dancer working a pole. Ain't nothing else like it, and shouldn't be.
Kick back and load up on the ammo and tell the monsters to "Come get some."
Shorts appearing in this book: (1) Voodoo Children; (2) Ballet of Blood; (3) Ho-Ho-Homicide; (4) Tassels of Terror. ... I've reviewed each of these stories individually elsewhere. Five star for the first two, four star for the second two.
(Read as part of the Bump in the Night book. - Now available in the Bubba year 1 collection: Scattered, Smothered, & Chunked - cheaper than buying the books individually)
Bubba is all about drinking beer, getting lap dances, and kicking monster butt. Unfortunately for the monsters the strip club is closed!

We follow Bubba while he deal with love sick voodoo necromancers, warlocks who conduct spirit orchestras, and a werewolf who just can't take No for an answer.
This is more of a short story collection and it is very entertaining, if a long way from fine literature. It is entertaining, but I'm not really sure I would want my friends to know I am reading it. It's kind of a guilty pleasure.

This is an entertaining, albeit totally mindless, collection of short stories about a redneck who kills zombies and other such beasties for sport and profit. Most of the book consists of action sequences of Bubba killing paranormal beings. It does not pretend to be anything more than it is, and there is quite a bit of tongue in cheek humor here. Mixed in for no apparent reason is a very short story called "Zombie Mom" which is preciously hilarious and is about a nuclear family whose senior female has been bitten and is turning into a zombie. The family would normally decapitate her, but she's a really good cook. Overall I am giving this three stars for being entertaining without a hint of pretense of trying to be anything else.
Bubba, who's larger than life both physically and metaphorically, would maybe be a bit tedious as a character in a novel. These short stories are the perfect scope for him. My favorite of the collection was "Ho-Ho-Homicide", a Christmas-themed story that's not so much about the monster du jour as it is about getting Bubba to play Mall Santa for a day. This collection also includes a pair of non-Bubba stories, and the whole makes for a quick but fun read.
Want a very entertaining read?? Give Monsters Beware a chance. A truly unforgettable read. What a great protagonist!! Action…check. Carnage…check. Humor…check. Three great reasons to check out this great book by an author I will be keeping tabs on.
This short collection is a fast, fun read. If you can't enjoy a redneck with an inordinate armament hidden in his truck, chasing after all kinds of beasties...you take yourself too seriously. Really. Read this.
The Bubba stories are a nice break from your average paranormal fiction: for starters, Bubba's idea of "romance" involves visiting the nearest strip joint. Whatever your paranormal pest problem, Bubba has the tool for the job.
A collection of short stories with the same main character. They feature a redneck monster killer, who appears to have crawled out from the shallow end of the gene pool. Of course I am enjoying reading this!
