Crimson is the third book in the Silver series and, once again, we get a completely new story that also ties in with what we already know. Kaynan is in a car accident which kills his sister Colleen, her best friend, and himself! He wakes up though and finds he is in a laboratory who have brought him back to life and experimented on him. None too happy with that, he escapes and manages to take another wolf with him, Grace.

I love how these stories are all so different and yet there is both a common theme and common characters. Yes, Jaze and Nikki are here, plus Jet and Taye, but the emphasis is really on Kaynan and Grace. Kaynan has changed and not just by becoming a wolf. He is no longer the troubled addict he was, and he will do everything he can to protect Grace and his family. The plot thickens when it appears Colleen is also alive, but it is just a ploy to get him back inside the lab?

This is yet another action-packed book that will keep you turning the pages. Jet is as charming yet stoic as ever, but I think Kaynan has put a crack in some of his walls. A great addition to the series and definitely recommended by me, just so long as you read it as a series!

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

The theme of the redeeming power of love continues to run through the Silver Series with the third installment, Crimson. Kaynan is a different sort of werewolf from the others in the series because he was turned into a werewolf rather than being born as one. This story follows his struggle to come to terms with what he's become and to find a way to leave behind the destructive behavior which led to his death. To help him along is Grace, yet another kind hearted and gentle female character whose main purpose seems to be supporting the male characters.

I don't have any problem with soft female characters, but the girls in this series are starting to blur together. The character I have the biggest problem with is Taye. She's an alpha female, and yet all she does is hang back with the other females waiting around to tend to the boys after a fight. Even Brock, a human, gets in on the action, but not any of the girls.

The main character in the next book is a girl, so I'm holding out hope she'll provide some much needed diversity among the female characters.

I still like the sweet romance in these stories and the idea that no matter how broken a person is, they can always be mended. These are good stories full of danger and heartbreak, joy and love, and everything in between.

Crimson by Cheree Alsop is book 3 in the Silver series. Kaynan was killed in a drunk driving accident, and it was his fault. But somehow, he’s waking up in a laboratory with incredible senses and super strength. In the process of breaking out of the lab, he finds a blind female werewolf and they both escape together. Along the way, Kaynan experiences his first fear-induced phase into the wolf he’s become. With bright red fur and a chemical taint to his smell, Kaynan is the first man-made werewolf.

He and Grace call Jaze for assistance and get rushed back to Jaze’s safe house. But the scientists aren’t about to give up that easily. Even as Kaynan has to adjust to his new life as a werewolf, he’s wracked with guilt at the car crash he caused which killed his younger sister and her best friend. A blind wolf girl becomes his saving Grace.

Author Cheree Alsop does a great job bringing real emotion into Kaynan’s mental agony. Even as he confronts his own demons, he finds a way to fit into Jaze’s rescue band and use his unconventional skills for good. There’s also some supernatural miracles in this book as Kaynan helps Grace adjust to life as newly blinded. When Grace’s brother comes for her, Kaynan has to let go of the one person making his life seem worth living again.

In Crimson we meet some new werewolfs and they have a bond and take care of each other. We still see Jaze, Jet, Mouse, Nikki and the other from book 1 and 2. Ms. Alsop does a great job of developing those characters as well through out the story. I really enjoy that Kaynan and Grace have choices to make and issues to deal with. I stayed up passed one in the morning as this story consumed me and I knew I would not be able to sleep without knowing what happened. One of my favorite parts is the hair coloring session. It just cracked me up.

This story does contain violence (but it is tastefully written and I did not have any nightmares) It has nothing more than a few kisses. I did think some of the fight scenes were a bit much (as in I did not think it was realistic) and it amazed me how the SUV they drove was in several accidents and never needed to be repaired. But other than that the story was awesome. I totally recommend this series that is unique and keeps you wanting more!

Grace and Kaynan turned out to be some of my very favorite characters that the author created. I love their relationship, the way she brings out the more tender side of him, and how they grow together to overcome both of their challenges. I was very happy to see the rest of the 'pack', and I'm anxiously awaiting the fourth book. If you haven't started this series, I would recommend doing so now because it's one you don't want to miss.

Author Cheree Alsop has written a perfect story with Crimson.
I listened to this story in 2014 and I forgot to write a review and put on GoodReads that I had read it. I decided I would listen to the story again and the start the 4th audio Violet, which I listened to it before as well. I listened to it to again so I'm refreshed and caught up. I hope I haven't listened to book #5 but I'm pretty sure I have. If I have, I'll listen to it again to.

Good

This is a really good series, however it's definitely getting predictable. I enjoy the characters, their relationships, and the stories. I'll keep reading the series it's good but like I said it's definitely getting quite predictable, just a diff. set of people with another problem, but same basic story and outcome. I don't know lol.

He died in a car accident only to come back as something else.

Kaynan, age 18, wakes up in a facility as a werewolf. He soon encounters Grace, a blind werewolf, who has been locked up. They both escape the evil Dr. Tannin, who had experimented on both of them. Kaynan finds Jaze and his pack. Even though fitting in is hard for Kaynan, he struggles with his new form as a wolf, knowing he has been human before the accident. It is revealed that Tannin had turned him into a werewolf, genetically altering his DNA. This has never been done before as werewolfism is an inherited trait.

What I love about this book and Cheree's books is that she includes mates for her characters. Not just fleeting ones, but a deep love that lasts forever. Her characters have real growth too. In the beginning, Kaynan loathes himself for causing the car accident that killed his sister Colleen and, by the end, he comes to learn that he isn't a bad guy. I can't wait to read her next installment, Violet.

As I stated in prior reviews of books in this series, I don’t normally read werewolf or paranormal series since they tend to be violent and sexually oriented. But after reading Ms. Alsop’s Rise of the Gladiator series, I decided to give this series a chance. I am glad I did.

Kaynan is not your average, or normal, werewolf. He was “created” in a laboratory by werewolf DNA and a young man “killed” in a car crash. Had he really died and was brought back to life isn’t the question. The question is, can he escape with an actual werewolf who has lost her sight due to experimentation and find his way to Jaze and help.

As with the prior books in the series, the budding romance here is well handled and kept clean which I totally appreciate. I enjoyed reading Crimson and recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good paranormal story but is turned off by graphic violence and sex. I look forward to continuing this series.

The worst possible scenario is happening. They are making werewolves in a secret lab. Kaynon escapes and brings Grace, a blind werewolf with him. The barely make it out alive and contact finds Jaze's werewolf rescue online. Jaze takes them in a tries to protect them from the lab. Kaynon has to deal with waking up, after thinking he was dead, to now being a werewolf, and the accident that killed his only sister. This was a remarkable story about the strength of love between family members, whether they're blood or not. I just flew through this story and could not put it down. Well done Ms. Alsop.

This was a really good read. I liked that the story was different but meshed with the first 2. I liked Kaynan & Grace. I also liked that the love story that developed between them was a lot slower. This held my attention to the end, but there were a few points, that I felt didn't mesh as well together for the plot.

Recurring theme thru the series, horrible editing/proof-reading. I tried to look past that with the review, others might not be so generous.

From human to werewolf.....

Kaynan and his sister along with her best friend get in a bad accident, that should have killed them. Kaynan wakes up in a lab not realizing that he has been experimented on and changed into a werewolf. He escapes with a blind werewolf. Now he has find a way to come to terms with the changes, but with the help of Grace, Jaze, and others he will; providing those from the lab don't find him.

Kaynan's story unfolds in another dark, sinister environment--a werewolf "factory". He and Grace escape the development center (she is blind). Taken in by Jaze, Jet, and the "reformed" hunters, they are hunted by other development center thugs and more violence, death, and threats continue as Kaynan and Grace's relationship develops.

Amazing concept

I love these books so much. I read two straight off and had a break. This book was amazing and totally scary. Being made into a werewolf after you die is shocking. I love the fact Jace and the crew are always there to help. I just love these books.

Kaynan’s story was original and his love and caring actions for Grace were beautiful.
Love that the story continues once again with the previous characters still included.

I am just loving this series. I read the series out of order on accident, so this is like my origin stories series. This one is the red wolf, Kaynen, and as usual, does not disappoint.

Loved this story. Although again the characters seem 2 dimensional with growth that seemed.... forced. Not natural growth. Idk the writing could use some work but I did enjoy the story. Again the dialogue felt forced. And instant relationships are not my thing.

Crimson (The Silver#3) by Cheree Alsop

3.5 Stars

Waking up from what he knows to have been a fatal road accident, Kaynan finds himself in a laboratory and notices some changes to the way he feels. Knowing he has to get out of there he breaks out of his room and comes across a young blind girl who begs him to take her too. Together they manage to escape. Running for their lives they desperately search for shelter, help and answers. Finding a simple message and phone number on a website points them in Jaze’s direction and the truth of their horror becomes clear. The pair have been experimented on leaving Grace blind and Kaynan, who had died a human, brought back to life and changed into a werewolf.

I am enjoying this series so far, it is managing to hold my interest up to now. Each of the new wolves introduced have had a different story to tell even though they are similar in the fact that they have been held against their will and have been treated really horribly.

There was a fight scene towards the end of the book that didn’t work for me. I found it hard to imagine where all the security guards, hunters and werewolves came from, it was like there was a never ending stream of them and it had me scratching my head a little trying to visualise it.

I’m about to begin reading book 4 in the series, Violet, and I’m kind of hoping for a little more on the romance front to even the balance between the violence and love that we have been given in this series so far.

I absolutely love Kaynan, he's just a great mixture of Jaze & Jet! He's story and Grace's story is troubling to even comprehend in the end. After the hair dyeing occasion (which was hilarious by the way), I had tears in my eyes. You finally get a true taste of what Kaynan lost. He felt so guilty about Grace when he remembered the very beginning of his torture. But in the end they complemented each other very well. Although there were questions that weren't answered in the end. Like what happened to Troy and his band merry men? And I just felt Kaynan and Grace's story was kinda cut off at the end. But hopefully will see more of them along with the rest of the group in the future books.
