Lee Goldberg is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of over forty novels, including Malibu Burning, Calico, Lost Hills (the first novel in his acclaimed "Eve Ronin" series), 15 "Monk" mysteries, five "Fox & O'Hare" adventures (co-written with Janet Evanovich), and the new thriller Ashes Never Lie, the second in his "Sharpe & Walker" series.. He's written and/or produced many TV shows, including Diagnosis Murder, SeaQuest, and Monk and he co-created the Hallmark movie series Mystery 101.
I loved these stories. They were all so different. Origin was a great sci fi thriller. Was interesting to read. Darkness on the Edge of Town was my favorite, I think. The characters in all of the stories were really intriguing. oddly, two stories with siblings. All great stories, but all very dark. Kept me reading up way too late at night a couple of times.
The first story was not that interesting and the second story was way too sick and twisted for me. It was as if the writer was encouraging murder and as if it was apart of him he wished he could live out. The disgusting and way to elaborate story of when the brother was raped at 12 was just too much! It makes me think the writer would enjoy that as well! Just sick!
Surprised at how disappointing this was. Started slow, monotonous, and confusing. That was the best part. Finished it out believing it had to improve....
I'm tempted to give this collection a one-star because of the pure laziness that left the formatting unfinished. When I have to crank my Kindle font up to almost max to read it, someone didn't finish their job before uploading the file to Amazon.
