This is a good book for specialists working with teachers of ELLs. It does a good job showing how to address standards and a fair job at addressing proficiencies levels. There are good examples of rubrics. The average teacher may feel overwhelmed by the amount of planning the authors show for each theme/unit, but they do a good job at getting to the point of addressing academic language.
