But now that Ari is a member of The Guild, she finds herself in the impossible position of hunting her ex-best friend – human-turned-dangerous sorcerer, Charlie Creagh. As Ari struggles to come to terms with her duty, an ancient Jinn and his companion want revenge on her for using the command of the Seal against them; the White King refuses to give up on his quest to resurrect Lilif, and Asmodeus isn’t done toying with her.

I am so sad to see this series ending. :(

Darkness, Kindled is a book full of twists and turns and that will leave you completely breathless.

I was a bit sad with what happened to some characters like Charlie and Derek but, truthfully, I didn't see any other solution for what was happening/had happened to them.

I am just glad they are happy now and far safer than when they were involved in the Jinn world.

About Ari and Jai, OMG! They went through hell to finally have their happily ever after.

They had to face Charlie, the Seven Jinn Kings, Azazil, the Sultan himself, Lilif, the Sultana, Asmodeus, Azazil's right hand and Lilif's brother and a bunch of evil Jinn.

The tension with Asmodeus was the hardest part to bear of course.

He was such a maniac bastard! Couldn't he see that his sister, Lilif, had to be stopped?

But no. He blamed Ari for everything that happened with Lilif and then wanted revenge.

I swear I almost had a syncope with the stunt he pulled on Ari and Jai in the end.

I am so freaking happy his plans were thwarted. I would die if he had succeeded.

What else can I say? I was really ecstatic to see all the characters I came to love once again and I am happy for all of them.

I just wish I could have more Ari and Jai moments together.

They went through so much, that I feel like I have to read a book just about them being in love, living together, marrying and having kids.

*wishful thinking*

4 stars!

This is the final book in the Seven Kings of Jinn series (originally published as Darkness, Kindled (Fire Spirits, #4)) by Samantha Young, and wow, what an ending! Exciting, surprising and romantic, Young flipped the story on its head in this heart-racing ending, and I loved it!

This book picks up with Ari and Jai now together, and working for the Guild hunting dangerous jinn and other magic users. Sadly, that now includes her best friend, Charlie, who has succumbed to dark powers and is target number one, forcing Ari to make an unimaginable choice.

At the same time, multiple bad guys from earlier in the series are seeking Ari out for revenge, her evil father is continuing on with his nefarious plans, and the Sultan’s right-hand-man, Asmodeus, is stepping up his creepy stalker behaviour.

It’s all happening, and with the all-powerful Sultan owing her a favour, Ari thinks she has the solution to it all. One wish is all it takes to fix everything… but the consequences will be beyond anything she ever could have imagined.

“You win, Ari. I’ll grant your favour … Let the realms have mercy on us all.”

I love the direction that Young took this book! She managed to flip the story on its head, bringing shocks and surprises, and lots of unexpected twists and turns, and did it in a way that makes the whole story so much more exciting. She also manages to create happy endings which I thought was looking a little impossible there for a while. It’s not the way I expected it, but it was so cleverly done, and I was so satisfied that so many little story threads were tied up so nicely.

In the middle of the absolute chaos, Ari and Jai’s love story shines as they settle into their relationship, finding their way with each other and continuing to grow closer. They are so deeply in love and know they belong together, and even though they both have fiery personalities, they are completely committed and work at having a functional, honest relationship that is just beautiful. There are sweet and tender moments, and even a bit of sexy time (YA sexy time), and I loved the evolution of things between them.

“I’m coming back.” She tugged him closer, their faces almost touching. “I’m coming back to you. I will always come back to you.”

The huge cast of side characters are all a part of the action, and I loved seeing progression for them. Pretty much everybody is drawn into unpredictable story, which had my heart pounding right up until the very end. I loved seeing them all come together, and there are some pretty epic scenes as the series comes to its close.

I’ve really enjoyed this series. Each book built upon the last, getting better and better as it went on, and I was really happy and very satisfied with the way it all ended.

4 stars.

I think this is one of the very few series that I have read and finished that steadily got worse every book.

Okay, it would probably be more accurate to say that it lost it's appeal, degressed to the cliches instead of worse. And a whole lot nicer too.

I've read some of Samantha's work that came after the 2012-YA era and my love for them is what actually led me to taking a chance on this one, well, that and my best friend giving the series an average of 4 stars (should have checked that read date though, none of us can be reponsible for the choices our fetus selves made *shakes head*).
While I don't regret reading this, I only finished for the sake of finishing and because it still wasn't awful enough to drop.

But yeah, the cliches did me in. You wouldn't believe the weight of the pages and how difficult it was to keep turning.

Also, I really wanted an HEA or even a HFN for my beloved Red!
My heart hurts.

I'm going to give this series a cumulative review since I don't have the strength to dissect them individually. This series is about the Jinn world which is kind of new in the world of paranormal fiction.

And I say kind of because:-

A) It had a lot of common denominators with a lot of other series I've read so far, the covenant series in particular
1) A badass heroine with two love interests- check
2) A funny all powerful relative who cracks bad jokes but cares for the heroine deeply and aids her till the very end- check
3) A mean ass villain who wants to start a war and disturb the precarious BALANCE on which rests the jinn and mortal worlds- check
4) A self sacrificing mother- check

The whole jinn world was a parallel to the world of hematois and pure bloods and half bloods including their powers, their rules, their covens, their training sessions. EVEN their punishments are similar i.e a half jinn(jinn and mortal progeny) cannot kill a full blooded jinn even in defence for fear of being tried in the court of Mount Oaf and sentenced to death.

SOUNDS FAMILIAR, DOESN'T IT

But I won't be rating it down because of its similarities with other books, quite simply because so many of them have been written that overlapping is bound to happen.

From the very beginning this story comes across as a bittersweet one, and it's fitting, I guess to have an ending thus. No more casualties, no more murders, no more pain. Everything resolves, not satisfactorily, but resolves it does.

Here's why I'll be giving it a 3 star instead of the initially thought of 4 sparkly ones.
a) Loose ends. The story does not justify the Lilif's motives. It's not all out there, it's vague and hazy.
b) The weird ass relationship between Lilif and Asmodeous- they don't come across as siblings or even platonic. Their behaviour towards one another is bordering on incestious, though that might be my opinion and mine alone. There's something too fishy about them.
c) The sultan Azazil is a moron. I have no other words for it, He's like one those mischief making leprechauns who have no purpose in life except make troubles. In no part of the book does he come across as a leader, more like a petulant brat who wags his tongue when things get too boring for his taste. Like I said, moron.

Lastly, I wasn't invested in Ari's and Jai relationship, it had too many pittholes for my liking. Jai gave precedence to his reputation in his clan more often that was supposed to, and that did not go down well with me.

Over all a 3.5 star series.

Now, I know that Darkness, Kindled isn't really what Sugar and Spice usually review. And I'm super excited that the lovely ladies gave me an opportunity to review a YA book. But it's Samantha Young and she is an amazing author no matter what genre she decides to write. If you have not read books 1-3 please do so as soon as possible!!! They were also amazeballs! Well DK is the last installment in the Fire Spirits series. And boy was it a whopper. K first and foremost lets talk about my walking lady bonner Asmodeus. I don't care how sick or evil this man is I want to switch places with Ari and make different Decision where I end up under him in his bed being head of his harem!! Okay! Imagine the head snap here. And I already talked with Sam and she informed me she will THINK about making a book for me and Asmodeus. So expect publication in the next 10-15 years!! So now DK takes place a couple of weeks after they get the hit on Charlie. I understand Ari's frustration in the fact that she has to take down her BFF/first love. I didn't want to do it so I know for sure she didn't. Well she calls in her favor with Azazil and all hell breaks loose. Okay major spoiler here do not read if u don't like spoilers!!!

Ari gets laid!! A lot! And it's about damn time. Jai had me sexually frustrated. K end of spoilers.

All in all I loved this book. It seriously had everything wrapped up by the end and it wasn't perfect, which I loved. She could have given Ari everything she wanted but she didn't. Ari and Co. got their HEA and it was beautiful. The only small down side was that several times I thought it was gonna end. Like the big battle concluded and I though OMG it's over noooooo! But then I still had 40% left. Then the other thing concluded and I was like noooooooo it's over. But then I had 20% left. But then it ended and I was like awe that was beautiful. So other then the feeling of winding down a couple of times I loved this book. It gave me everything I could ask for for the characters, except more Asmodeus. But I'm crossing my fingers for a novella starring me and him. Ill call it my undies kindled!!

Its a bitter sweet ending on this journey.Samantha Young delivers the perfect ending for Ari, Jai, Trey, Red and Glass.

There were parts in the book when i felt like oh its over, then looked down and saw there was still like 30% to go. (lol) then realized that the end of each part was the perfect ending..

There's so much i could say but then i feel like if I'm giving away the book..

What I would like is for both Glass and Asmodeus each get a novella because I feel there is so much more for those two that meets the eye

DNF at 58%. I started skimming this series so fast it can barely be called reading it. I really just wanted to know how it all ended but now that I've picked this book up after a week, I've forgotten most of the plot and characters.

Maybe someday, I'll reread books 2,3, and 4 properly.

Klappentext

Don't read this review if you don't want huge spoilers as I plan to go into detail about many things, we clear? You good? Alright lets begin.

Ari suffers from Elana Gilbert syndrome. Everything happens to her, for no reason other than she is soooooo special. More powerful beings just fuck with her for funsies. It got boring.

Not to mention the unrealistically deux ex machina moment when she uses her favor from Azazil to literally re-write, re-create? make a new timeline? world?

She essentially asks that she never went to live with her pseudo father, but keeps her memories of everything anyway, to fix all her problems and bring dead people back to life..... What a fucking let down, 3 books of angst and trauma and roller-coasting through fucking hell and you're just gonna magic it all away?

For a second, reading this series, I was having some major Game of Thrones flashbacks. S. Young seemed to have no issue killing off characters left and right, top to bottom. (I really should have seen it coming, it was the breaking dawn movie all over again) It was jarring to then have it all undone, like a huge joke, Miss Young just decided to pull on us.

Part 2.

Here comes the consequences of Ari's actions, and the immortal beings who should know better than to cater to the whims of a child.

He literally says he knows not what granting her favor will do, but something immense is gonna happen, and he does it anyway?! Like it makes no fucking sense. I'm not buying it.
But ofc the White King takes full advantage of the sultans weakness, and attacks the palace, resurrecting the Queen bitch evil, and bringing about the end of the world. Good job Ari and idiot immortals.

Not to mention the amount of mistakes or things that just doesn't make any sense, like there's a point where S. Young writes
in Asmodeus’s fist, a heart drew its last breath.

That's the wrong organ to be drawing any breath miss Young, that's just annoying and embarrassing for me to read these kinds of mistakes throughout the books.

Ari feels guilt guilt guilt guilt, YOU GUESSED IT, GUILT!

She should! But of course she's still selfishly happy her own friends and family are alive and well, even though hundreds of thousands of people have died already because of her selfish request. But of course Jai is just so stupidly proud of her because she acted with a pure heart. *rolling my eyes so fucking hard* the girl literally shits rainbows in his mind. Protect me from idiotic characters please!

Azazil is still a c word, and Asmodeus. All the immortals blaming Ari for this fucking mess are absolutely idiotic. THEY ARE IMMORTAL but they BLAME A 18 YEAR OLD GIRL because their SULTAN is a massive fucking cock and wants chaos. Obviously, they can't do anything about him, as the way he's written he's literally important for the worlds existence. So instead they blame the child. Spare me from narcissistic toxic pricks!

So it's up to the girl child to save the day. She takes charge of all these much more competent men and woman, and decides she calls the shots, and everyone lets her... ofc. She makes an impossible promise to Asmodeus that she'll try to kill Lillif because it's his twin sister and it would be too painful, but she fails, obviously, she's not as strong and I find it really hard to believe anyone would think she was, and then... She was way too close to win, makes no sense a girl who just learned to fight for less than a year beats a woman who fought in wars for centuries...

Now Asmodeus the walking red flag wants revenge on Ari.. I'm pretty sure he does, he saves her only because he's not done with her and as we enter part 3 of the book... We know it ain't over.

Asmodeus wearing his big boy pants now

Part 3

I am hoping for the best, I truly don't hate Ari I like how she refuses to be a victim or go down without a fight, I just don't appreciate so many people who are older, stronger and more experienced rely so heavily on her... It's annoying...

We enter part three pretty calmly, nothing major happening for months just Jai and Ari having a great time and enjoying being together and working on their communication skills.

That is until ofc, Asmodeus the 13th reason makes his next move...

Asmodeus nodded militantly and then turned his cruel gaze on Ari. “I have petitioned the Sultan for his granddaughter’s hand in marriage, and he has granted my request.”

I really shouldn't be surprised, yet somehow I still am. What in the world is going through their minds, Asmodeus and Azazil ofc, the most toxic, assholery, dickwards ever. They are such miserable old boomers they just enjoy fucking up the lives of everyone around them!

Asmodeus curled a lip at him and then swiftly transferred his sneer to Ari. “Jai Bitar is a prince among the Ginnaye. Do you know this, Ari? Not yet twenty-four years old and he has garnered the respect of the Ginnaye Tribes for his unwavering determination, power, and self-control.-

Even so, Azazil is apparently completely okay with letting Asmodeus kill Jai unless she agrees to the marrige. I am heartbroken for Ari, forced to marry a guy, just to satisfy his vile revenge and lust? Disgusting.

Asmodeus merely laughed. “A woman’s body can betray her. Yours definitely will.”

That is called rape... Lets just say it how it is. I had to take a break reading, my hands are shaking writing this. I'm beyond pissed.

“Father,” The White King’s tone was almost mocking, “Surely you know me better than that by now. I am such a stickler for rules, am I not? And ultimately, it is up to the father of the bride whom he allows her to marry.”

WHITE TO THE RESCUE!? I can't believe it. Well, I can, it turns out he feels he owes it to Ari to save her as she helped save the balance he wants restored. Not out of any fatherly feelings that's for sure. But that's not something I would have accepted either.

But it's not over, Asmodeus wont give up, we all know this so does the Red King and Glass King, therefore they have a plan. To give Ari and Jai each a piece of him, so they will be connected to him, forever and Azazil wont allow anyone to hurt him. Win win.

Once Red had placed a piece of himself within Ari and Jai (a procedure so painful, they’d both blacked out), he and Glass had told Azazil exactly what they’d done. Of course, the Sultan was at once impressed and enraged. In the end, however, there was nothing to be done but put his own protection behind Ari, Trey, and Jai to ensure that his sons came to no harm through their deaths. Asmodeus was foiled.

Epiloque starts up a year later, to my utter disappointment. I would have liked to watch Asmodeus the man baby throw his tantrum when he finds out what they did instead of just having it told as something that happened in past tense.

At least it's a happy ending even if I do wonder what happened to Pazuzu... Oh well. Hope you enjoyed my ranting since you made it this far, apparently so... Thanks!

Inhalt:

1. Flammenmädchen
2. Das Erbe des Flammenmädchens
3. Die Entscheidung des Flammenmädchens
4. Das Vermächtnis des Flammenmädchens

Wow! First I'd like to say that I'm kinda sad this series has come to its end; tho I'm seriously hoping & praying I misunderstood the author's note at the end that this was IT!. Seriously.... but Im happy at the way it completed this wonderful series! It's been such a great journey following these characters on one mission after another & being there with them through it all. Anyway, so here's what I thought:

Ari & Jai finally tother-together!!, ahhh!! Ari sacrificing a piece of her past so that those she cares about have a happy life! She once again didnt give up on her long time bff Charlie & 'saved' him from the bad decisions he'd made. And it isnt the last time either. I love her strong sense of loyalty to her friends & family; she puts her own safety and even her life (if it came down to that) for others, without thinking twice about it.

Ari's life in the Jinn world hasnt been easy since she was thrust into it, but she toughened up quick & fought back whatevr was thrown her way with a vengeance! This last installment was no easier. And may I say 'Thank you Samantha' for saving me from a heart attack towards the end there with Asmodeus; and the White Jinn King actually saved that scene!! Wow...

I love it all so much! Wish this was made into a movie!! Great job Samantha! =)

I loved the extra passages at the end in Jai's perspective but maybe that would've been better if it had been throughout the books. When I got to halfway through the book everything had finished but then another thing happened which got me through it. The ending was so good and definitely was the best way to end it. This series was great.

I don't know if I left it too long to finish this or what but I just found myself skimming my way through. There was a definitely a lack of caring on my behalf. It took about 2 weeks to finish it...
Then again no book seems to be "doing it" for me right now so there could be that!

I really enjoyed this New Adult series by S. Young. It is one continuous storyline throughout with no time passage between all four books so I read it back to back and recommend reading it that way just to keep up with it.

If there is one downside to this series, aside from the bizarre chapter titles, it's that the author seems to go a bit overboard with world building for a world she then chooses not to really immerse the reader in. The number of characters and magical world beings she discusses gets confusing. All information comes pretty much from verbal description from other characters or an info dump using the device of a "History Of" book in book one of the series. It can be a bit overwhelming. But, then again, you can still enjoy the story if you can't recall the difference between a 'marid' and an 'ifrit'. That's why I think it could have been simplified a bit if it kind of doesn't matter.

Since I read the books as one book this is a review of all four.

I appreciated the way Ari, Charlie and Jai's relationships as well as Fallon's were handled. It would have been easy to have a lot of jealousy and rivalry between them but it was muted and the focus remained on the ongoing crisis situation which was nice. Ari was able to understand when she needed to let her romantic feelings for Charlie go because he was no longer healthy for her. She also did not string him along with the whole "I don't want to be with him but, I'm going to be jealous if he's with anyone else" attitude. That's nice in that you don't have a lot of angst and drama and you have a young female making pretty healthy relationship choices.

Pretty much all intimacy is closed door aside from some 'making out'. However there are TRIGGER warnings later in the series for depictions of child abuse (through memories), attempted sexual assault, actual sexual assault (forced kissing, touching with threats of rape) on more than one occasion.

I liked the arc of the main characters and even though some could see the whole "Ari's favor from Azazil" as a cop out that sort of makes everything nice and neat after a, maybe overly, complex journey. I liked that EVERYONE gets a happily ever after.

Toward the end we see that the baddest of the baddies this story has been leading us towards, Lilif, is actually defeated fairly easily and the final threat of Asmodeous, is actually neutralized pretty simply as well in the grand scheme of things.

Some might take issue with this but I didn't because I enjoy S. Young's writing and this isn't some psychological literary journey, it's a New Adult Paranormal Romance. The girl saves people through paranormal abilities she didn't know she had. She learns she is strong and gains confidence and falls in love with her guardian sent to protect her and they all live happily ever after.

Were there some odd storyline choices, sure. But again, in the grand scheme of things I couldn't put it down and was always excited to start the next book in the series as soon as I finished one so, for me, that's a win.

I read the version of the series that had the updated or alternate titles, for example this book was called The Law of Stars and Sultans as opposed to Darkness Kindled, and it had bonus scenes. Not sure if the originals did or not. However, I feel the need to request Fallon and Eli's full story and I'd love a book or two dedicated to Glass and Trey's relationship.

So, I liked it enough to request spin off's and would definitely recommend it to you!

ITS OVER!!!!!!!! Oh my god, it’s finally done and I’m not sure how I feel about that. I’m glad that Samantha Young did not needlessly drag the series and the end is still sinking in. Considering that this was the last book in the series, Darkness, Kindled definitely did not disappoint. There was plenty of action, nail-biting suspense and a healthy dose of gooey love.

I did not re-read Borrowed Ember before starting Kindled (mostly because I’d already read Ember more than twice since it came out) so things were fairly fresh in my memory. At the end of Ember, Charlie had officially gone off the deep end and lost himself to the Mount Qaf Emerald. Ari was assigned to hunt Charlie on behalf of the Guild and bring him in and she and Jai finally started living together (along with Trey.) In Kindled, Ari meets Charlie again and this time, it is obvious to her as well that the Charlie that she knew and loved is lost to her. He comes to her with an offer and because she’s still desperate to save him, she agrees. What I was very relieved to find was that she and Jai were honest with each other. That just helped cut down the confusion, not to mention, all the unnecessary drama. Jai is also summoned by the Roe Guild and told that Charlie has been spotted by some of the Guild members. That served to speed up the chase for Charlie. Ari, Jai and Trey decide on a plan to save Charlie but in order for that plan to work, they had to keep it from the Guild. There were a lot of things happening in this book, in addition to dealing with Charlie, Ari also had to deal with Asmodeus and his nightly incursions in her dreams. Add to that, certain circumstances forced Ari to go to Azazil and make him repay that favour that he owed her. Of course, that favour, once granted had a domino effect that not even Azazil could have foreseen. (like I said, very eventful)

I’m gonna try and keep this review as spoiler free as possible, but considering just how many things happened in this book, that’s gonna be very hard, but I will try.

Ari is one of my favourite female characters in YA fiction and she remained kick-ass in Kindled as well. She is selfless, loyal, caring, sometimes even with those who don’t deserve it. Yet she has also matured as a hunter for the Guild. And I’m glad that despite being hopelessly in love with Jai, she doesn’t let him dictate her actions (he tries to do that when he gets over-protective) What made her even more awesome this time, was her apparent fearlessness. She wasn’t afraid of standing up to even Azazil to protect those that she loved. (Sure, she might’ve been terrified on the inside, but managed not to show it)

Jai, I am relieved to say, was much better in Kindled. I found him a little irritating in the previous books because, for the life of him, he couldn’t make up his mind about Ari and kept dumping his own issues with his family on her. It sucked that for so long he blinded himself to how much she loved him. Anyway, I am very happy to say that he finally learned his lesson. It was nice to see more of this sweet Jai, of whom we’d only had glimpses before. He was kind and thoughtful and when he did get a little pig-headed, he did not simply leave and go somewhere to brood, he stayed and talked to Ari. That was a pleasant change.

I would like to say that even Charlie was more likeable this time around, sadly that wouldn’t be completely true. Yes, I feel really bad for what happened to him but some of it, he brought on himself. So, Ari, Jai and Trey finally nab him and try to help him weaning him off the emerald. It works and just when it seems that their plan to save him worked, the Guild find out and come and arrest him. Of course, that proves to be the catalyst that sets the events of Kindled in motion.

Red is around as always, though he was a little distant with Ari in the beginning, that was very sad to see. But I’m glad that he came around. We also saw more of Glass, the other Jinn king, and though he was very quiet and seldom said anything, he was nice as well. It was especially sweet to him with Trey. I love Trey, seriously, one of the best characters in the series. Azazil, was the same, teetering precariously between sanity and insanity. Asmodeus was….. well Asmodeus… dark, mysterious and dangerous.

When Ari, Jai and the rest averted the end of the world and everyone thought that they were finally safe, another crisis arose. And this one had to do with Asmodeus. I’ll be honest, I quite liked Asmodeus in the previous books and in Kindled, I felt short-changed where he was concerned. The end I felt was a little rushed, this new crisis was averted a little too conveniently. I get that Ari and Jai deserved their happily-ever-after but I think fleshing out this part of the story would’ve made for a more satisfying end. It ended way too soon.

But, to conclude, it was a great end to the Fire Spirits Series. Very highly recommended to all the fans of the series, you will not be disappointed. It will leave you happy with the end and miserable that it’s all over. Bittersweet.

Richtig toll.

Argh...this book... SO GOOD. This series is just epic. I will list as many of the great things as I can...

That prologue. I had guessed at what the favour would be and that prologue only confirmed it and gave me this sense of doom and suspense which was just yummy.

Asmodeus. He's so interesting and evil and broken and interesting. The whole dream thing and then his surprise at the end, I did not see that coming.

Charlie. We saw the best and the worst of him in this book and both aspects were heartbreaking.

Trey and Glass are like the cutest couple EVER. Followed closely by Ari and Jai.

I loved the structure of this book. Each of the three parts had a distinct story. I also loved how there was so many points in the book where I thought 'it's finally over, they can live happily ever after' and then Samantha Young laughed at me and carried on with the action packed heartbreak.

I LOVED THIS SERIES and I love Samantha Young. This series and the Tale of Lunamorte are two of my all time favourite series.

Well, if it was the author's wish that her readers would NOT likely recommend this series to others, or make the decision to ever read this again, I'd say she nailed it as far as I'm concerned!

The injustice and sense of utter hopelessness that was prevalent throughout the entire series, and particularly the last of this book, prevented me from truly enjoying the series. Whatever good there was in the story was repeatedly undone by the ridiculous all-powerful "god-like" Sultan, Azazil, who behaved more like a bored, malicious child than some great keeper of the essential "balance" between good and evil. He was more like a mashup of Zeus and Joffrey Baratheon. A cruel bully, with unlimited power! And his bemusing affection for his evil bestie only made it more intolerable!

And while this did have some really good parts in it and a somewhat happy ending, I wanted to see a few more of these A-holes brought low. I was left feeling like justice hadn't really been served.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The final instalment of this action packed romantic fantasy
Wow! Just when you think things are going the right way and good things are starting to happen for Ari and Jai. Curveball! One thing I’ve learned during this series is, nothing is ever as it seems, and there’s always consequences to every action/decision made that contorts the ‘normal’ world.
Lots of action, and a good few twists and turns in this story, and even a little one on one action with Ari and Jai (finally). There are also some very unexpected relationships forming throughout the story, I loved seeing all the different aspects of these highly complicated characters. I was riveted throughout, never knowing what would happen next. I learnt never to presume or take anything for granted. A fantastic end to this highly enjoyable fantasy romance. Got to say though, I’m a little sad to say goodbye to these guys. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.

I haven’t read many books based off genies or Jinns as Ms. Young writes them but the world she created was unique and had me wishing I could cast spells and travel through fire. The characters, main and secondary were easy to connect with and my heart broke for the trials they all faced. A lot happens in this book but at the end of it all I was happy with how everyone’s stories wrapped up. I’ll miss Ari, Jai and the rest of all the Jinns I’ve come to know. Ms. Young is known for her contemporary books but she blew me away with her take on YA fantasy and I really hope she writes more in the future. 4 Stars!

What a fantastic end to a great series. This is book 4 in the Seven Kings of Jinn series by the amazing S Young. Pen name for Samantha Youngs supernatural and fantasy romance work. My favourite genre for sure.

You need to read these in order as this is a continuous evolving story.

We pick up where book 3 left us, Ari is no longer the seal, her mother and Fallon are gone and Charlie is lost to the dark magic. Ari, Jai and Trey as assassins for the Guild, and their next target is Charlie, punishment for his crimes is certain death.

Ari as always has a target on her back, but this time 2 powerful and vengeful Jinn want her dead for using the power of the seal on them. Charlie approaches her behind the Guilds back, and claims he will help her but can she trust him? He is no longer the boy she knew. Her job is to turn him in, but can she do that to her lifelong friend ,who has been through enough in his life.

At the same time Ari feels Jai is pulling away from her. She needs to keep her head in the game, but Asmodeus is visiting Ari in her dreams. He is obsessed with her, and pretty much stalking her every time she closes her eyes.

Not to mention the White King is also still set on finding Lilifs body in order to bring her back to life. What could go wrong?

So much is happening, this is action packed and will have you on the edge of your seat, oh and the Romance is sizzling. Ari and Jai are arguing non stop, but that means a lot of making up.

The ending is perfect and oh so tense. I highly recommend you check out this epic high fantasy romance now. Superb world building, amazing diverse characters and a rollercoaster of emotions.

Top marks 5/5 starts.

Whoa this book is good with knocking you out with each punch and each revelation ahhhh The twists and runs were so amazing I couldn’t believe what I was reading but definitely enjoyed every second of it. Even the parts that were so mind blowing I didn’t know how or what to think. It literally kept me on the edge of my seat page after page! As always every S. Young book is magic and chef’s kiss! Loved it to infinity and beyond!

Best book ever!

5 stars because this last book in the series wrapped up all the cliff hangers. All the relationships were summed up as well as the turmoil with Lillif, which brought up new twists between Asmodeus and Ari. All in all, this was amazing. I loved the ending and the ways the lives of everyone of the characters played out.

I loved it. A worthy ending to a great series. It's fast paced, swoony, and shmexy. After the whirlwind of book #3, I was looking forward to seeing how everything is going be untangled. I was not disappointed. Everything evened out. So.. If you love paranormal and you want something new, as opposed to vampire's stories, this is perfect for you.
