A collection of over 130 short stories first published in 1945 that illustrate such character traits as honesty, courage, and kindness, using examples from the lives of real people in order to build faith in Christ and encourage good works.
I picked this up at D.I.'s. I guy stopped me and said I was really lucky to have found this. And continued to go on how it was the best book ever and they are really hard to find. I didn't dare tell him I picked it out for a projected I wanted to do and had planned on cutting it up. So instead of dismantling the book we placed it on the shelf, for another time. Tonight McKay woke with a nightmare, I sent him downstairs to grab this book so I could read to him. We LOVE these stories!! And to top it they're true! Fabulous, I'm so glad that gentleman stopped me.
added later: I'm even more glad I got this book. I went to amazon to get copies for my family, $66-$99. I paid a wopping $2. Guess they'll have to hunt for their own copy.
I read these when I was growing up and it is interesting to see my kids enjoy the stories even though I have to explain some of the things from the "olden" days.
