Elise Marion is a lover books and has a special place in her heart for sweet and sensual romance. Writing about love across all walks of life is her passion, as is reaching people through the written word. The Army wife and stay-at-home mother of two spends most of her time taking care of her children. Her second job includes writing stories about characters that people can fall in love with. When the Texas native isn’t caring for her family or writing, you can usually find her with her nose in a book, singing loudly, or cooking up something new in the kitchen.
This was a very well written little story. I would have liked to have read a full length book about this couple. But I didnt like how determined she was to go along with her wedding after all that happened. Luckily the H got there in time.
My Ex-Wife's Wedding is a cute, fast, sexy little story that is well worth reading. I want to send this fantasy ebook to all my divorced friends. Who can't imagine what it would be like to have a last minute second chance with the person you most loved, but lost? Everyone can relate to this well-written tale of a man who begs his ex to forgive him on the eve of her wedding to someone else. What a dream come true that would be for so many estranged couples.
Elise Morton is an excellent writer and her characters come to life on the page. I loved the setting, especially the details about the small house where Jack and Holly raised their spunky daughter, Reagan. Except that Jack, an up and coming lawyer, was never home. He was always working. So Holly felt abandoned. Now she is leaving him forever for a man who comforts her with his solid, loving presence.
But will that be enough? Especially now that Jack is so vociferously and irresistibly sorry for his sins of neglect? Comfort and security or lusty passion, what will Holly choose on the day she walks down the aisle?
"My Ex-Wife's Wedding" was available for free on Amazon and since I've been on a novella kick lately and the synopsis sounded interesting, I downloaded it to my tablet. It was a really quick read and, thankfully, the story lived up to the synopsis and was well-paced from the beginning 'til the end.
I like second chance romances and this particular novella was very well-written. I did have a couple of issues with regards to the lead male character, Jack, and why it took him THAT long to fight for his wife, Holly, and daughter, Reagan, and Holly doing what she did the night before her wedding to hapless Lyle. Still, I wasn't irritated with any of the characters because there was remorse and so the writing won out for me in this case. ^.^
Four stars out of five! And I just heard that there's a book by the author that focuses on Lyle and what happens to him after the events in this novella. ^.^
I got "My Ex Wife's Wedding" on a whim - looked light hearted and it was short. The leading man was pretty loveable & sexy, no question. But I really had a problem with him waiting until literally the moment of the wedding to profess his love etc etc to his ex-wife. It just struck me as a low class move for so many reasons. Don't get me wrong - I think he should have declared himself and tried to put his family back together, but maybe a week sooner? None the less, the story was well written, had plenty of steamy love in the right spots, and no loose ends which is always nice.
This is an excellently written little short story and I would definitely recommend it to those who enjoy the Romance genre! I stumbled across this book on the Kindle Top 100 and downloaded it just 'to see', I read it on a very crowded train journey and it definitely made me forget how awful the train was! I was absorbed in the story, learning about the characters and egging Jack on towards the end.
I would definitely recommend this short story and it made me want to read more of Elise's work!
Such an innocent looking cover. I tell ya, Did not expect the sex part to be graphic. Anyways This book lovely for those with a child and a long mmarriage that hope to reconcile. But at the same time it is books like these that tells girls to never give up on love. Believe me not everyone you fall in love with meams they are the one....however in this books case it works out fine. They had a child and fifteen years of marriage prior.
A good little touching story....a terrible one if you're the other guy.
I got this book because I liked the premise of a guy crashing a wedding to try for a second chance. The author is a good storyteller and got a lot packed in to this short story. My only regret was my sympathy for the poor guy left at the altar because I felt like he got used. I understand the dynamics of why it took until the last minute, but Holly and Jack's HEA was bittersweet for me. Nice short steamy contemporary romance.
Maybe I am a little strange but I have always wanted to be at a wedding where the pastor asks, "If anyone can show a reason that this wedding should not take place, speak now or forever hold your peace," and someone steps forward to stop the wedding. That phrase was not used in this story but it was the same idea. Character development and interaction was good, loved the daughter and best friend as supporting characters in My Ex-Wife's Wedding. Sex was good too!
I enjoyed the story as it developed. Jack was a little too naughty for me, but it would be fun to see someone stand up and stop a wedding. I have been to many weddings over the 90+ years of my life and have always held my breath when the minister asks, "If anyone knows a reason this man and this woman can not be wed, speak now of forever hold your peace." I think most people would enjoy this short story, I did (except the too naughty parts).
Although it's a second chance at love for Holly and Jack, My Ex-Wife's Wedding left me with a bittersweet taste. I felt bad for Lyle and it prevented me from enjoying this book as much as I could have. Other than that, it was definitely worth reading.
A very cute but short, short story but one that will be totally enjoyable. This is what I call a "literary snack" that works well during the lunch break at work, or while waiting for the water to boil for the pasta for supper. A cute ending.
This story is soooo cute. It has some heat, but the story is really sweet. I was really routing for Jack. Its a lovely quick read, but still draws you to the characters as if it were a novels length. Loved it.
This was a good book. Very fast read. It was a story after my own heart. Man and woman divorce. Woman is about to remarry a new man and ex hubby realizes he can't live without woman. The rest you'll have to read.
I love me some second chance love story and this fun, short read gave me just the right dose, even with the predictable outcome. Sexy, poignant, and romantic. True love is forevah. Just wish it was longer ...
I'm a big fan of Elise, and this quick, fun (and hot!) read didn't let me down. The title is self-explanatory, the characters are good, the story sweet. Another story well done.
This is a very cute short read. anyways story is not that unique but still very enjoyable and heart warming. I'm always into guys who will let their heart outs just to win back the ones he loved.
This was a cute story about a man who realizes the night before his ex wife's wedding that he must get her back. It was sweet. I like short stories that make me wish there was more story to read.
A quick read, it made me smile and even though the outcome was quite obvious you really were waiting & watching to see what would happen to get to that point.
Rated : B This was a sexy heart pounding get your girl at her wedding story just wish for it to be a little long in the story love the fact there was love that even if you lost it fight for it
