When I began reading this Christian novel, I felt like it was too didactic. However, when I got further into the book, I began to see the need for it. The reason? A reader has to understand a lot of the Torah to have some elements of the Torah introduced to him or her to see what's going to happen next. There is a need for it, so bear through that part, PLEASE. For when I got to the end of the novel (and it was a long book), all I could think was, "Wow!" and then go to my Lord in prayer. And I did. Reading this novel took me into a prayer that was cleansing to me and my soul. Jesus has been an important part of my life for a long time, but even then, we all need books like this (and other "aha" moments) to pull us back to God into a tighter relationship, for we all (or at least almost all) drift at times.

Still, this IS a novel. It is the story of a Jewish man, a Christian woman, a world at war, and the couples' hearts at war. It is a love story and it is historical fiction. It is a Christian book -- writing at its best. Kerstin Sheldrake is an awesome writer, and if I find other books of hers, I will definitely pick them up. Not only is it just a good read, if you read it with an open heart, it can pull you closer to Christ.

It was definitely not an accident that this book fell into my hands. My sister-in-law found a discounted copy of the book at a store who read it and shared it with her mother. I was at their house shortly after my mother-in-law received it and mentioned, after reading the blurb on the back cover, that it sounded very interesting. Thus my mother-in-law sent the book over to me when she had completed reading it. I'd love to get a copy of my own. I would probably reread sections and ponder over them. Final comment -- it makes me want to read parts of the Torah to see the predictions about the Savior who is the Savior of not just the Jews but the Savior of our world!! Blessed be our Lord!!

Very interesting.
When I purchased this book, I hadn’t realised that it was a religious book. I only thought that it continued some religion, associated with ww2.
The book is fiction but I do wonder how much is inspired by friends stories.

What a wonderful story of love between a Jew and a Gentile. The Bible is gently woven through the pages and the main characters need to come to a personal decision as to whether Jesus is the Messiah. The author has the reader wondering about the Jewish and Christian faiths being interwoven to come to the same Truth. Loved the book!

For me this book started slow and was a little preachy but then it picked up steam and I couldn't put it down, though I was reading through tears!
