The factual story behind Road to Wellville. The lives of three incredible men, J.H. Kellogg, W.K. Kellogg, and C.W. Post, who revolutionized eating and advertising. The energy and entrepreneurship these guys exhibited was amazing. The description of American eating habits pre-WWI were eye opening. Although Road to Wellville made J.H. Kellogg look like a quack, he was never intentionally a quack, just a little too hasty to leap on novel ideas without testing. The novel also downplayed the role of religion. I had no idea the Seventh Day Adventists were a mobilizing force in the development of breakfast cereal!
